WELCOME TO THE IMPACT ACCELERATOR UNIT
It takes on average 17 years for health and care research to get picked up in practice in the NHS. The Impact Accelerator Unit works towards closing this gap - so that people can benefit from the latest treatments quicker.
Our aim is to accelerate the uptake of research into practice, through knowledge mobilisation and research, to create an impact on the quality of health and care. We work with strong NHS networks and communities with high-performing individuals with a range of different skills working together in a multidisciplinary team. We support distributed leadership with mentoring as appropriate. We co-produce with inclusive patient and public involvement in all activities following best practices of research involvement and community engagement. The majority of our work is resourced through external funding and in collaboration with our health and care partners.

Overview of a Critically Appraised Topic for plantar heel pain and steroid injections - Ben Jeeves
มุมมอง 543 ปีที่แล้ว
In this CAT we wanted to know if steroid injections were better than physiotherapy, or “usual care”, in treating plantar heel pain (plantar fasciitis). We found that there was limited evidence overall, which was of low quality, but with this there was no difference between the two treatments. We do feel there is a gap in the literature specifically comparing injections and physiotherapy, for pl...

Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement
Yes, but what about physical labour, such as working in a supermarket, cleaning or care work? Not everyone is lucky enough to have an office job. That thumb pain is horrendous and muscle loss leading to weakness is awful, it also affects one's mood, causing depression. Another thing no one mentions is the fact that pain affects mental performance. If you're in chronic pain it's very mentally fatiguing and you're more likely to make mistakes.. They always play osteoarthritis pain down, as though it's no problem. This has to stop.

I have been referred to a rheumatologist for psoriatic arthritis
I have got osteoarthritis all over my body and in my hands
Try carnivore diet. Dr. Ken Berry says it will help.
Carnivore diet is reversing my osteoarthritis, I’m a 59 year old woman and have had it for 10 plus years with large nodules on all my finger joints. I was at the point that I could not shake hands with anyone because the pain was so bad. I’m now 9 months on the carnivore diet and I’m COMPLETELY pain free and I’m actually seeing the nodules starting to decrease in size. There have been other benefits to this diet but my journey began trying to cure my hands and I’m so thankful for finding Dr. Baker, Dr. Berry and Dr. Chaffee and so many others in the carnivore community.
