It’s all good and fine for the Canucks to at long last have a roster pretty much free from injuries. That said, as much as last weekend, the Canucks had faced a goalie in Dennis Hildeby who had had rather limited NHL non-preseason experience, Connor Hellebuyck will be completely different. The Canucks will beat the Jets, lose narrowly to them or lose by a country mile. If I cannot lose that game, it’ll depend on how they’ve done so.
Haha parker, funny you mention your partner.. i cant say how many times this season mine has been like, " just turn it off!" 😅
JT is from East Palestine Ohio. Why not a trade home to CBJ? Why? CBJ is an up and coming team, they have an incoming elite 1C in the Adam Fantilli, JT could help should some of the responsibilities for the next few years and than transition into a 2/3C support veteran role. Canucks need pieces, CBJ has them in spades. Cole Sillinger young signed at a good contract for another season after this. Could develop into a 2C. Kent Johnson, speedy LWer hometown boy signed to a good 3 year contract. Ivan Provorov, a legit 2nd pairing Dman, is a UFA no guarantee he resigns but if he fits in and does resign it would really shore up the defense. The money works almost perfectly. I’d ask for CBJ to take on the Desharnais contract as an extra little cap space perk. Of course it’s JT’s decision as he holds all the cards. Risk on both sides but pretty fair value for both teams IMO.
love this but who fills our 2C spot now?
I think trading either player would be an overreaction right now.
The only one who could go is Petty as he can be traded this year. I don't see this happening as the story is way over blown. For me, get petty going and if the right deal is there I would take it. Petty is a great player when going but far to inconsistent for the money being paid.
You guys are great together.
Another game without #40 Smells fishy 🐟 🤔
The Canucks are a broken, streaky team and have been throughout much of this season. Whether they will even see playoff action has been something I’ve been asking myself about at least from November. I can’t justify giving the Canucks more than a 50-50 chance of this season seeing playoff action given their many issues.
Flat affect or disgusted Coach also defends refs most of the time. Something is demeaning and off here too
This team is no where near cup contenders. There needs to be a huge locker room change. This is where turnovers need to occur. Not on the ice. So many players are flat during interviews. No or little emotion. Same on the ice - no personality plays allowed. Then if some emotion is expressed, they are slammed by media. Likewise, any personality plays on ice are penalized with that line being broken apart. There is no Zadorov candid humour, no Kuzmenko tension relief, no Horvat nurturing or mentoring (nothing wrong with Hughes commitment modelling, great heart). This team has flat affect and that overpowers any exuberance from new players - look at deBrusk, Sherwood, Joshua . . . Even Garland seems down with standard comments (mind you the interview questions are sick fluff). There is something seriously destroying players and game excitement. Is it Bettman with a grudge, insisting that Canucks are never to win the Canadian Stanley Cup? Beats me the why, i can only see the what right now. 80% attitude, 10% skill, 10% stamina?
U love to see it
Pretty much all sources are saying that Petey outside of the new injury is healthy, and that he's not been injured this season up until now. Both Rick Dhaliwal and Patrick Johnston have stated that all their inside sources have said this.
What a dumpster fire of a season, has their been a player that hasn't taken time off from the team for either an injury or personal reasons?
Their going to keep losing untill Hughes and Hronek get back, so yeah seasons pretty much over........Sigh
I think the Canucks should seriously target K’Andre Miller out of New York. He probably has his lowest trade value he’s ever had, and is an RFA at the end of this season looking for a new deal. He’ll be extra motivated to turn it around and show that was the Rangers and not him. If he does well, you can resign him to be a long term fit for Willander, if not, you can still trade him again at the end of the season. He checks all the boxes for what we need, and probably could honestly be gotten as New York is cleaning house.
He's not good but probably better than 3 of the Canucks 6 dmen but thats not saying much
@ everyone on New York is bad this season. That’s the exact player you want to take a gamble on
Everything that can go wrong this year, has gone wrong for the 8 best players on this team. So many injuries and bad luck preventing the build up of any momentum. They may be done for this year…but it may lead to a determination to succeed and play as a team for next year ! Let’s hope they stay together, add a couple of defenceman and believe in each other. It could happen. Believe !
Canucks are a bad team. Hughes is the only reason this team wins games, he probably has the most impact out of any player in the league on the results of his teams games. Take Hughes away and they're a bottom 5 team.
Not many teams can lose their top two d men and avoid tanking. Also, Demko let in at least one goal Lanki would have saved.
Why are you guys harping on the loosing of the Canucks and bad story's that are going on off ice
Ty Adam for the gifted membership.
The canucks are doing this despite not icing their actual full lineup for even one game sofar this game. We will be fine.
Clay doing Steiner math at the beginning 😂
Thanks Adam Lee for the gifted membership!
Clays laugh is my reason for watching ❤
That's what happens when you play down to weaker opponents. Absolutely unacceptable
A grown man living in Vancouver who has never had sushi? Big yikes.
I have a solid & sturdy plyon in my garage that I'd like to sell to the Canucks for $11.6M!
Hey guys, it's absolutely obvious that Petey is still injured in the knee, stop speculating around other things. He indicated this himself that he couldn't train as usual off season and that he was still feeling the tendonitis. If you watch how he moves it clearly influences his speed, skating, and the way he shoots. He is trying to play through this but I guess the pain limits his flexibility and mobility. I hate that the NHL players are not allowed to be honest about their injuries. So much unfair hate. BTW love this show and your analytic approach!
I'm glad Parker's mic got adjusted before too long, I could barely hear him - I'm currently suffering with a bad head cold and thought I was losing my hearing!
Glad that people pointed it out in the chat!
2k subscribers after all these years? This channels dead lol
It's a second channel for two creators that only does a podcast once a week. What do you expect?
For a weekly show, we are happy with we are at. Thanks for watching.
Masterclass of a game by the canucks in philly!
Hope you are both safe from the rain.
Contenders?? Pretenders maybe....calling them Contenders is a big stretch.
The Canucks keep surprising me at every turn, so I'm going all-in. 110pts, 1st in pacific, 2nd overall, and sure, cup. Why not?
Standings Predictions--- WEST Pacific: Vancouver 110 (#2) Edmonton 104 (#7) Seattle 93 Vegas 92 (WC2) LA 85 Anaheim 75 SJ 70 Calgary 63 Central: Colorado 109 (#3-T) Dallas 107 (#6) Nashville 96 Utah 95 (WC1) Winnipeg 88 St. Louis 87 Chicago 75 Minnesota 63 EAST Metro: NJD 112 (Presidents) NYR 108 (#5) NYI 98 Carolina 94 (WC1) Philly 93 Washington 81 Pittsburgh 78 Columbus 72 Atlantic: Florida 109 (#3-T) Toronto 102 (#8) Ottawa 99 Tampa 94 (WC2) Montreal 88 Detroit 82 Boston 79 Buffalo 74
I'm sure alvin will add a top 4 D to shore up the 2nd/3rd pairing (which is their only weak spot), but is it worth it to sell the moon for it? I think so. The window is open for a cup now. But I think lekkerimäki and willander are untouchables
Is it wrong to think the Canucks will be better than last year?
no it’s extremely logical

I agree!!
So what I am hoping is a Hughes showdown. Yes it’s a long shot, But I am willing it to happen. New Jersey Devils vs Vancouver Canucks in the Stanley Cup Finals….
This season will be similar to last season. There will be a lot of players having career years. No drop off like last year and less wear and tear on our defensemen. I think this team will be on top of both boards of offense and defense. The Canucks will be the team to watch. A team effort through all four lines. I can see this team shutting other teams down frustrating them into penalties and giving us more power play time. DeBrusk should have a career year by the 45th game. This could be our year.
IF Demko stays healthy you got a chance to put the greasers in their place, which is OUT in the second round.
I think they might have some depth issues with injuries. Just a feeling
@@apparitionightno
I think even without demko, the canucks have enough depth to win. Of course having demko helps and would be preferred
@@omfg322Edm depth is what I meant
Leave him to Gonchar
Brannstrom ain't some busting AHL prospect. He played 2 full seasons in OTT. Hope we can make this kid work
Philly could be problematic with their style. They dominated us last year.
Demko is playing out like a wildcard that could make or break this season....
Watching these last 5 games have been very interesting, I’d have to say the rookies best games was the Edmonton game because they were keeping up with and at some points outshooting mcdavid and drai. Lost in shootout but they did good
if demko can't start the season would he be put on ir? give lekkarimaki a year in abby, hate us rushing young guys. i see either sprong or hoglander with petey and debrusk. hope heinen sticks with miller and boeser. most interested on how the defecemen gel. hoping hronek angers his own pairing.
I’d say the Canucks have the deeper scoring, if we’re trying to take a lead we have 3 strong lines we could play, oilers would use the 1 line, and only 2 if they had to get off a change
Great show. Man that Lucas Gates guy is everywhere … what a legend
Our Canucks greatly overachieved, last season. Without a legit starting goaltender, I fear they will regress this year.
