I realy want to learn scottish accent but its so hard...
Excellent vid
If only I had watched this video BEFORE I tried my friend's spey rod today....
found this vid while looking for techniques to spey with a 9 foot single hand. of all the single hand spey videos i watched, I think i learned the most from watching this one, and will be able to make the transition easier. and as a half deaf american, i had little issue with that accent :)
Kevin, I've spent hours looking at tuition videos and yours must surely be the most helpful. It's an excellent idea to highlight the most common faults - the ones all beginners do - you explain what happens with these mistakes and then show how to correct/avoid them. Many thanks for taking the time to make this video.
Kevin, I am Scottish American, but I could barely understand most of what you said. The beauty of your presentation is letting us learn by observation. I often think that can teach better than words and it sure worked for me here. Thank you! Years ago the British Consul to the west coast of the USA was a family friend. After speaking with him on the phone for any length of time, my ear would come away bright red from pressing the receiver so tight to my ear in hopes of understanding. It was easier in person. There is poetry in your casts, Sir.
ah cheers its so out of date i only want to help you made me laugh check out the utube vid the best scottish accent ever that will make you laugh all the best to you all that leave these comments best kevin .
thanks for the vid!
Great job, in showing mistakes, you've actually demo how to do it correctly. Thanks
Very cool to watch you tie that Kevin. Would love to see a big salmon or trout snag it.
excellent tuition without all the Bull,,very very well explained and executed casts.. ive learned so much from your video and improved my casting in such a short space of time..this would cost a fortune in fees for an instructor and yet it has cost me nothing to watch it here..thank You...how`s about doing an updated version from the other bank
Bluez Hero cheers buddy thats why i put it on to help others is a old one but still does its job tight lines kevin .
Try tying it a little more sparse and the action will improve even more. Salmon of all species love those flies.
The same goes for snap t .. I see no meaning in the art. Skandinavia spey covers all needs. without scaring the fish, and does not require any kind of exertion
the double roll makes too much noise in the water. Skandinavia spey cast works without scaring the fish
i dont understand the point of 2 hand fly rods, i can cast further with a 4wt.
If you don't understand the point of a 2-hander, then you have no business holding a fly rod, Sir.
If you can cast a 4 inch streamer over 100 feet with a 4wt. props to you.
803brando No need to enrage yourself simply because you lack the knowledge. A simple Google search would show you what you need to know. In short, 2 handers are great for distance, especially when backcasting room is limited. It is not uncommon for someone who knows what they're doing with a 2 hander to get more than 120' of line out to their target.
Thanks its very easy look us up at river Tweed Beat Tweedswood and give it a try best Kevin
thanks mate...great for a beginner. Im a competent flyfisher...but I think id like to give this 'Spey' Cast fishing a go!
gavin there wont be much wrong with your cast very old video but its what casting should be about simple and fun good luck .
