It was 1983. I just finished my enrollment/tour in the Navy. My wife and I had a 4 yr old daughter. We were staying in a very similar shack in a very rural and swampy area of Mississippi where her family owned a lot of land. One night I woke up just as our daughter was sleepwalking right over the edge of the deck. It wasn't the splash in the water of her small delicate body hitting the water and the fact that she had no idea how to swim. It was the violent splashing and thrashing sounds that froze my sole. It was the worse night of my life. We used to laugh about that night until three weeks after her 19th birthday. It was her second week in college when a drunk driver slammed into her dorm at more than 90 MPH. Everything erupted into flames. The newspapers called it an inferno of epic proportions. Who the fuck says shit like that when people are burning alive? My precious Sierra, 3 other girls and the passenger in the car perished that night. 7 other girls were hurt and 3 firemen suffered smoke inhalations and burns. One of the girl's mother committed suicide later that year just as the trial was about to conclude. She took her husband's 9MM semiautomatic hand pistol and pointed it into her left eye and pulled the trigger. It's only been about a month since I have been paroled for my actions that night. I wish I had that 9mil back. I wish I could point it in my eye and pull the trigger the way my wife did. Alas... I am a selfish coward. Too Spineless. Or so some would say. I actually have a different take on it. Life goes on. Ya know?

Aye my shack looks like its seen better days... Needs new wood. Very relaxing ambience. Stalin Approved. I would love to just have an actual shack or small cabin like that, go outside at like midnight or late evening, dark outside, not cold, not hot, just warm (about 65 Degrees Fahrenheit) and just relax and drink coffee
