Tommy Igoe's Lifetime Warmup, Advanced 5 minute version from Great Hands for a Lifetime DVD - Hudson Music performed by Luca Casagranda Play along with me and enjoy ;-)
Dam, i didn't know john wick played. Nah but you do look kinda like john wick. Its sick 🔥
you caught me out!
I watch each video and play along twice a day!
this is awesome! I'm amazed by your tight flams.
I know how to do the basic version so i put it to 1.25 to give me a challenge, and i can i can almost do it
So clean!!!
Luca , accent the rimshots ?
No, in this video I don't play accents on rim, but you can do it if you like it (or if you use rimshots in your playing..)
@@lucacasagranda3806 thank you !!
Bpm???
th-cam.com/video/tU5_EKeN0ys/w-d-xo.htmlsi=VvnP5ym12F0_s_e_ As musicians, it's extremely important that we listen to the original version..... It's also only respectful to listen to The originators.
th-cam.com/video/tU5_EKeN0ys/w-d-xo.htmlsi=VvnP5ym12F0_s_e_ This is the way it's supposed to be played by Tommy. I'm not really understanding the point point of listening to you. If you can't hear the difference between the way Tommy plays it and the way you're applying it well, I don't know what to tell you
This video is 5 years older than your link, the point of listening to it is that none of us have time machines
As impressive as the speed and energy is,it covers up some mistakes in the way you're articulating the rudiments..... Let me use something with quarter notes. It's much more interesting and more musical
Grande Luca ❤
Grazie @PaoloBertorelle! ❤

that paraddidle combination was the only one i wasnt able to do 😭
keep on doing it...startwith just the paradiddle only, than doubleparadiddle alone, and than combine them...triple paradiddle alone and than all together in a relaxed manner.. practice makes perfect
In addition to that you can also practice the whole combination separately at a different speed and slowly work up the tempo until you have it
Awesome!!! 👍 How long did it take you to play that fast?
to be honest I've never studied this warmup from slow to fast - I mean the usual way - because I've discovered it when my technique already allowed me to play that fast. Many years spent on other material...rudiments, marching etc...But I really like the sequence and I believe it's a really good way to improve your technique - of course starting slow to gain control on your way to getting fast. Be patient and enjoy the process, the results will certanly arrive! good luck!
Hi Luca, just came by again, it’s always a pleasure both for the ears AND eyes! The thing I struggle most with are.. doubles. 😑 Do you have any tip how to improve proper doubles?
@@stefanmuller3435 start playing doubles with your fulcrum only (thumb and index)... understand the fact that two strokes are made with just one single wrist movement...it's all about rebound control...when it's done, add the other fingers but don't change anything about the sound and the rhythm...that's the basics! Then you can utilize all the fingers to play stronger doubles but don't do it if you can't play proper doubles with your fulcrum...enjoy and good luck!
Cool
🤔
Hey mate! Random one but what happened to your advanced version video? I play along to it every practice session but around a month ago it seems to have been taken down?
Hey! ...yeah...very sad...they removed for a copyright issue...it seems that Hudson made the request to TH-cam (probably an automatic control)...I simply can't understand why, after 7 years...who knows?
@@lucacasagranda3806 that’s a shame! Very weird especially after the time! There’s other versions from other channels still up too so extra weird! Cheers for the reply anyway!
Hey! I noticed the full Advanced version is no longer posted. Why?
...they removed my video for copyright violation...after 7 years it's really strange...I can't understand why...
The regular advanced taken down!
yeah....That is very sad...they removed my video for copyright violation...after 7 years that's really strange...I'm trying to resolve it, but who knows!?
Even the basic is hard I have to slow down the tempo !
Not quite my tempo
Tommy Igor still amazed me to this day. This dude play paradiddles extremely well on the drum pad.
100%!
Ok. So. His fulcrum is in the wrist. Not right , right?
I use the wrist at slow tempos...you can see the fulcrum in action when I play the double strokes....or at faster tempo during the other three warmups

this was very helpful!😃⚠
Someone has to say, this player's rhythm is slipping. Good video for practicing to the metronome in the video, but I don't think his playing is a good example.
Really great, thanks a lot!
singles and doubles are identical, great job
th-cam.com/video/kI9w4Ux0n2g/w-d-xo.html
I love it
It's cool to practice with you. Observing your decontraction and finger technique was a source of inspiration in my own practice. Because I used to rely too much on my wrists, it resulted in causing twitching, pain and finally blockages in speed... Thank you very much.
Thank you! You're wlecome! Yeah...the finger control is the right way to understand and develop rebound control...and then, you feel it in every technique you use! Decontraction is the way!
Hi Luca this is a brilliant excise this has made me play the drums a lot faster you are the best!i just want to ask you what drum pad were you using because i just want to buy one?Again you are the best!
Thank you Li Zhu! The pad is a Pro Logix model, unfortunately I think that one is out of production now, but you can try the new models 👍
Thank you ver much Luca!😄
Holy shit this is a thing of beauty. Is it transcribed somewhere? I don’t know a lot of these rudiments
Yes! You can find on the web the pdf files with all three versions, or buy the Tommy's dvd...enjoy!
Muy buen ejercicio
This is so good 🔥 🔥 🔥
legend
Friendly suggestion: Vary the volume, (soft, medium, loud), make left and right hands sound exactly the same, and then this will be more musical and really good (it’s a long time ago so I’m sure you’ve gotten that together)-Tommy seems to play everything loud-that’s not music
I agree! That's the best way!
I hate to be the better of bad news, but a lot of these rudiments are played incorrectly....or sloppily and it's covered up by speed
What’s that fiddly stick spinning stuff at the beginning? Silly - just get to the business - you’re too good to waste precious energy showing off stick fiddles.
at the beginning it's the leg warm up....ahahah!
💜💜💜🇧🇩
Today I'm start practice with you. one day i make successed.💜🤘 From Bangladesh 🇧🇩🇧🇩

I’m glad you left that stick click mistake in there You’re so damn crisp it reminds us mortals mistakes will happens to everyone and the important thing is to play through !
I remember playing this with my lessons teacher every saturday 5 years ago. Surprised I still know most of it by memory
Great. So your teacher was stealing stuff from Tommy Igoe, and asking money for it. O, no. "inspired" by Tommy Igoe.
@@basb6230 chilllll bro 😂😂I bought the dvd to practice at home. Shiii with that logic my band teachers are the FBIs most wanted
Hi, i’m practising with You everyday now :)

Thanks! It helped me a lot.
You're welcome!
Thank you!
Dude sounds like a machine. Very impressive. 🤟
Yeah
