Intercessions for True Salvation-Romans 10:1-3
Have you ever worked with someone for a long time and been so frustrated with his/her lack of response to your help or teaching that eventually you have just written the person off, saying, 'I've done the best I can. He is going to have to learn the hard way.' Or perhaps you said, 'Whatever she has coming to her is her own fault.
I am sure all of us have reacted that way at some time about someone. So we should not be surprised in our reading of Romans 9-11 if we should find the apostle Paul doing the same thing, due to the unbelief of his countrymen. In fact, far from being surprised, we would be understanding and sympathetic, especially knowing how badly he had been treated by some of them. But this is not what we find Paul doing.
Instead of dismissing his countrymen and consigning them to some bad end, we find that Paul is praying for them, which is what each of us should do for those who are unbelieving or who try to create problems for Christians who are witnessing to them about Jesus. Join us this coming Lord's Day as we look at "Intercessions for True Salvation" (Romans 10:1-3).

The Birth & Reign of the Prince of Peace-Isaiah 9:1-7

Spurgeon, as he reflected on the birth & incarnation of Jesus Christ exclaimed, "The birth of Jesus is the grandest light of history, the sun in the heavens of all time. It is the pole-star of human destiny, the hinge of chronology, the meeting-place of the waters of the past and the future." Well, consider the scores of Christmas cards you've received that cite Isaiah's promise of this child. ...

The Bible is actually 1 book from 1 divine author, though it was written over a period of fifteen hundred years through the pens of over 40 men. Beginning with the creation account in Genesis 1-2, written by Moses around 1405 PB, & extending to the account of eternity future in Revelation 21-22, written by the apostle John around AD 95, God progressively revealed Himself & His purposes in the i...

Spurgeon states, "The sinew of the minister's strength under God is the supplication of his church. We can do anything and everything if we have a praying people around us. But when our dear friends and fellow helpers cease to pray the Holy Ghost hastens to depart and 'Ichabod' is written on the place of assembly...What can we do without your prayers? They link us with the omnipotence of God. L...

William Tyndale was ordained to the ministry in 1521. In a day when the Scriptures were in Latin, he became convinced of the need for an English translation. He stated that "it was impossible to establish the lay people in any truth except the Scripture were plainly laid before their eyes in their mother tongue, that they might see the process, order, and meaning of the text." He was refused pe...
Unbelief, Prophetic Revelation, & the Prerequisite of Faith-Rom 9:25-33

As Christians we have died to self & taken up our cross to follow Christ. We have set aside the pleasures & treasures of the world, with the promise that something far greater awaits us in glory. We don't see it yet, but our eternal reward has been promised repeatedly & in detail in Scripture. So we live by faith, we obey Him, & we wait. That raises a supremely important question. Can we trust ...

Until the 1960's, inerrancy was a given in evangelical/fundamental circles, and accepted as the historic view of the Church. Everyone but a theological liberal believed the Bible was true. Inerrancy was accepted as the historical view of the church. The Scriptures do not err, they are inerrant. They are infallible and do not fail. As Spurgeon confessed, "Everybody believes in infallibility some...

The beloved apostle Paul informs us that 'God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and He hardens whom He wants to harden" (Rom 9:18). Often critics of election have wrongly stated that it destroys the motivation for evangelism. Eighteenth-century New England pastor and theologian, Jonathan Edwards, was an ardent teacher of the doctrines of sovereign election and predestination, yet never ...

When we read the Bible's teaching of our spiritual deadness & depravity (Eph 2) and of our enslavement to sin (Rom 3), we understand God's great mercy of election. Spurgeon stated, "There are some who say, 'It is hard for God to choose some and leave others.' Now, I will ask you one question. Is there any of you here this morning who wishes to be holy, who wishes to be regenerate, to leave off ...

Esteemed Bible teacher, Charles Ryrie wrote, "The INERRANCY of the Bible means simply that the Bile tells the truth. For example, if you were to report to me that a mutual friend had a hundred-thousand dollar income last year, I might ...

The 'Prince of Preachers', Spurgeon, passionately exclaimed, "If sinners be damned, at least let them leap to Hell over our dead bodies. And if they perish, let them perish with our arms wrapped about their knees, imploring them to stay. If Hell must be filled, let it be filled in the teeth of our exertions, and let not one go unwarned and unprayed for." Dear Christian, does that passionate ple...

Have you wondered why the doctrine of inspiration is so crucial? And what drove the Reformer, Martin Luther, to convictionally exclaim, "My conscience is subject to the Word of God." It is because of the problem of authority that the Christian Church perpetually faces. Christianity is built on truth. Men come to faith by receiving God's Word of truth about the historical Jesus who died to save ...

Feels very applicable to the times we’re living in . As I listened to what you’re saying I couldn’t help but to recall that the Bible says God is love . I feel even some believers forget to be love. We are love at our core perhaps ? But we can become so wrapped up in law we forget that he says “ and the greatest of these is love “ . I imagine the two political sides in our country taking very different meaning from your sermon ( or I should say each thinking about yet are the wheat while the other is not ) so when I say this is an excellent message I worry if people know the way I’m thinking or do they put their own meaning to these scriptures and not realize they are not thinking as love would think . Just a thought I had because I’m seeing a lot of believers following leaders that are not of love but of self yet thinking they are the ones who are the “ good” and the other is bad. .I feel they are fooled by that which is not wheat . I don’t know if I’m making sense lol but it’s what I’m seeing . I needed to hear your message this morning though. It eased my strife over what I’m seeing out there and reminded me to have faith in God/ love. Without love we do end up in our personal kind of hell I think as does the whole world because it’s like the butterfly effect . One thing effecting the other until it ends up causing harm … hell .

Im struggling with burning rage with a treator. I dont want to and this is the first time it hurts me this much. I had friend for years. I dont know what happened. He contacted me last week about some work. He haddent call me in a year and he didnt even ask me how im doing. And now i call him to say i cant cus i will be busy and he dont pick up. " did he just call me to offer me work he wasnt gonna give me? To show off? Offer me something to not answer back? In spanish we call it " dar carita" u just tell someone to turn them down. What bad karma he is calling to him self since im a woman alone tryin to survive and god takes care of the widow and the orphanans. So many times i help him and now he betrays me. And i know why... he only befriends people he considers influencial and that will be of a certian gain. If ur popular he loves u. If he thinks ur not of any use he wants to step on u.
