How do you know in which direction you have to change? Or is it just guessing?
It's all guessing. Whatever your drivers give you for feedback on Downforce other than Excellent, adjust in increments of .5 on ONLY the front wing. Very Poor = adjust the front wing by 2.5 degrees Poor = 2 OK = 1.5 Good = 1.0 Great = 0.5. For Handling I mainly adjust the Suspension Stiffness and fine tune it with the camber or tire pressure. Very Poor = adjust by 5 Poor = 4 OK = 3 Good = 2 Great = 1. Speed Balance, adjust the same way as the Suspension Stiffness. If you get worse feedback after a stint, go back to your previous best setups and go the other way. If it gets better, keep adjusting in that direction till you get an Excellent. Also, do "Send Out" and "Bring In" right away. You'll need as much time as your allowed in a series to find the Excellent setup, When you do, then gain track knowledge.

Power Boost is only available on the Analog Control swing option . To add spin, continuously press the X button and use the analog stick for the direction of the spin. The faster the arrow moves, the more spin is applied.

so you don't touch the rear wing?
I haven't had too throughout my entire experience in this game since the majority of the tracks are road & street courses. The only time I'll touch the rear wing is when I'm racing in Phoenix on the oval layout. Then I mess with the rear wing.
