Beginner Pottery: Basic Trimming (Coffee Mug)
มุมมอง 44K10 ปีที่แล้ว
Before pinning the pot down with clay, the pot needs to be centered. Take a look if pot is thick or thin and know how much you can trim off. Check if if inside and outside are matching. Smooth down little pieces, put pot down in the center. With tip of wooden tool draw circle on bottom of pot to see if it is centered and push with both hands forward if needed (want to do this when it’s not too ...
Beginner Pottery: Basic Shaping (Coffee Mug)
มุมมอง 3K10 ปีที่แล้ว
Shaping into a coffee mug with big bottom, not needing much water anymore, evenly moisture needed. Shape with fingers not too wet. Skinny top part: only wet the part you want to bring in, gently, Walls have to be even. You can also use a rib (wrist needs to be wet so when hand goes into cup it shouldn’t drag), excess water is being taken off, making the clay strong. Lip needs to be skinny so it...

มุมมอง 10K11 ปีที่แล้ว
This shows you how you can attach garter stitch sleeve to a garter-stitch body, without a thick and ugly seam, but rather a smooth, flexible, woven in seam. Start from the top and go into stitch 1 (of the sleeve) then go from top down under rib 1, then go back into stitch 1 from below come out on top. Then go into stitch 2 from top down then under rib 2, then go back into stitch 2 from below co...
Decrease three stitches and end up with a neat seam on top
มุมมอง 58111 ปีที่แล้ว
This video shows you how to knit together (decrease) three stitches and to end up with a nice decorative seam on top. I think this is the same as the German "3 M so zusammenstricken, dass die re M oben auf liegt".

Is this the same for air dry clay too? I don't use a wheel but I make jewelry dishes and I have trouble with it getting stuck on surfaces. How long should I wait to cut it off?

Hmmm 🤔and they have found ancient Egyptian pottery to have perfect symmetry down to a 1000th of a inch! Got to really respect the skill and effort to achieve such a feat in such a time.

This is brilliant! I just cast off my sleeve pieces, but I'm going to put back on the needle and try sewing it in this way. Thank you!

Which piece is on the knitting needle - the sleeve or the body of the sweater?

I agree, it’s a bit hard to see. The sleeve is on the needle. Hope that helps.
