I used to troat first right below table rock dam with my Dad they let water out several times a day if i remember right back then it was no big deal though it just raised the water level we would just back up

Thanks for sharing this video, i have been at a dam where the siren had gone off and all the gates were opened (2003), the lamont dam located on the bear and cub river in idaho. I was over the river on a bridge os i got to see it without getting wet.

Pretty cool to see if you haven't seen it before. We used to frequent the Greers Ferry Lake area in Arkansas so I've seen quite a few releases but NEVER get tired of it.

When people say, like this guy, ‘ they might open up the dam, a little bit ANYWAYS’, the word is ANYWAY (singular), not anyways! I hear that quite a bit anymore from folks who obviously didn’t excel in English!

I believe that releasing over the top gates only happens during flood conditions. I've fished below Beaver Dam, next dam upriver several times.

I love your enthusiasm for this place. When I was sixteen, a lifetime ago, I was introduced to the Ozarks when we went to visit family. I fell in love with the place, the scenery, the geology, the people, you name it. I grew up in the suburbs of KC and didn't know this place existed.

I watched this video a week ago before my trip to Branson. From this video, I found out there was a place on the south side of Taneycomo I could get down to the lake. Guess what, I went down there, and the horn went off when I was there. Pretty cool. I also found out, there is hiking trails there. I’ll be back to hike them. Thanks for the video!

The sign clearly stated that the siren would sound before the dam opened to release water. No reason you should have been questioning.

I wish I lived closer than 2 hours from branson.I made a mistaken moving so far from Branson.If I did it again ide be within 1 hour too Branson instead of 2 hours away.2 hours away I'd just way too far away.

I live in springfield, my son and I take our boat to tanycomo just about every weekend to catch trout, we often go to cooper creek boat ramp,we catch our limit everytime no problem, I just love tanycomo its such a nice area to visit and fish for trout, we have been pretty close to the dam area as the release the water from tablerock you really have to be careful in a boat it can get sketchy at times when they do that, cool video, stay safe and god bless

About 30 yrs ago me and some friend was taking in some of the devils lettuce close to the dam and the water patrol jumped out of the bushes in full camo and arrested us all. We had to go to court in Taneycoma there were 4 church pews 1desk the judge sat at on a gravel floor. got a paraphernalia charge $125 fine true story

I grew up on Tablerock lake over across from moonshine beach. The lake has over 720 miles of shoreline. My dad once caught a 10 pound rainbow trout on Taneycomo lake while fly fishing and had it mounted on the wall at home. He was a fishing guide. Thank you for the video I live in Florida but Missouri will always be home to me.

Back in about 1975 I rented a boat just downstream from here. Slapped my Dad’s 6 HP Evinrude on it. Three of us would motor up close to the dam and drift down. Motor up, drift down, caught a bunch of trout, steelhead, I think. We lived in StL, camped somewhere close to the boat rental. Good times, good memories…

I used to visit Branson each summer back in the late 70’s and early 80’s. There was a resort right on Taneycomo called Sammy Lane Resort. Today it is the location of Branson Landing.

What a crowd. That would take all the fun out of it for me.
