I think shift+F, the wood:bench's damage is too low. Many times, I died just standing there to cast shift+F, but died before the animation even finishes.
I agree with you. I also feel the same way. I’m just using Shift+F as more of a survival tool rather than for damage.

Did you follow the passive or just deal damage? im struggling with it.
When harassing from a distance, use skills in any order, but for single-target, follow the passive order.
