@A-DeeMusicals(Sorry mate, this turned into a yap session :') Yeah, I am honestly surprised, since I'd think that would've been what you've done before screaming, but I guess it'll work the other way too, probably easier as well, since your screaming is good but your cleans ain't that good yet. I kind of have the exact opposite problem, I can sing cleanly ok, just fine, but I can never add grit to my voice or scream without messing up something. I have tried learning the technique but I have never really figured out the mechanics just yet to actually scream loudly and proper. Sometimes I managed to nail it though a bit louder but that is not something that usually happens. Now depending on your voice, but if you are a baritone just like me, songs from Frank Sinatra are a good way to start I'd say, and I say that since that is like the first stuff I started singing 😭😭. Or like Michael Buble, John Mayer, even Elvis Presley or Robbie Williams. All of me by John Legend is also a good song to do. I think these artists can have like some songs that are good for just learning how to sing in general that are not too crazy and fit also well for the voice of a guy. That is kind what I had the opportunity to sing even though I wanna sing much more agressive shit like Soundgarden or shit that is more emotional like with Jeff Buckley. If you wanna use your head voice after that, you can also check out songs from Radiohead, Sam Smith, The Weekend, Pharell Williams, Jeff Buckley or guys that usually sing in head voice. To learn to belt out in your chest voice, you can have Alice in Chains, and yes no one will do it like Layne does it, but those songs will really push you to develop power, and you also can add grit to your voice with I can't, so all the more reason, and also the vibrato he has is very good, can help with vibrato as well. If you wanna belt out high notes in mixed voice later down the line, checking out Soundgarden, especially the earlier songs and live versions would be a good start, or like Led Zeppelin, Guns n Roses, Aerosmith, and honestly I found so many singers that belt out high notes through this way, like you got a lot of options. Also I think just metal oriented, you can really see good clean vocals from Bruce Dickinson from Iron Maiden, Ronnie James Dio, Judas Priest, and I honestly really recommend you listen to Candlemass, their singer really sings in a way that sounds so operatic, clean and powerful, Candlemass is amazing. All these 3 combine imo the previous elements very well in a metal setting. Also you have like Linkin Park cause you have a cover of them on your channel and Chester really I believe was good at doing both amazing screams and good clean vocals. Also Chris Liepe on youtube, it's a great youtube channel for learning to sing in general, whatever way you want to sing in. And yes, that is pretty much what I have to say, I really think this is gonna be easier for you, since you already have the mechanics and control that you need on your screams that you can apply to your normal singing voice, and also on the screams I have a suspicion you need to push through your diaphragm even more so you probably have that advantage of really being able to belt out shit. So yeah, I bet it will take you even less time learning to sing cleanly than it did to scream, so I wish you good luck. 🤗🤗

@@mikesmycology7937 Haha it would provide little to no help at all, but I'm not really good at cleans (obviously), haven't practiced them as much as my screaming so there's definitely a long path ahead of me to improve here. I just wanted to put something out for the time being 😄

@@XanderFassette It takes practice, I've been doing this for some time now and still wouldn't call myself a professional, not by a long shot. Best advice I can give you though is to look into sound placement and try to find where in your mouth does sound feel most comfortable. Hope it helps :) 🤘🏻

That's a good idea! I'm still trying to figure the whole audio out while trying to capture a more "concert-like" feel, in my upcoming covers I've made some changes and my voice is more clear there, but will give your suggestion a try next time I record. Appreciate it so much! 🤘🏻

@@A-DeeMusicals we've all started out somewhere. Sadly many metalheads are negative with people trying out things. Not enough encouragment. How old are you? Use something like windows moviemaker or any similiar program if you're going to make live videos like this and not recordings through an interface :) You'll able to have 1 video and 1 audio put together. use something like youtube converter to only get the audio of the instrumental song you'd like to use! Keep up the good work :D \m/

@@A-DeeMusicals 1 year apart then! :) One important thing, took me over 20 years to realize but don't look down on yourself over mistakes, you'll learn more if you make mistakes than if you don't make any. But we learn from each other, i just released my first album a month ago, released 3 singles before but i've started making this album when i was 16 (10 years ago) it would sound horrible if i didn't learned from my mistakes and listened to the advice i've gotten from other musicians. Also, when there's a young person willing to learn which sadly if very rare. Then you wanna teach them everything youy can haha ;) Looking forward to the next video, hope you have a great weekend! // Jonathan
