In The Grain Creations
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 11 มิ.ย. 2017
Hey Ya'll, my name is Quinlan Clark and this is the journey of my creations. I LOVE color and patterns so you will see a lot of that show up in my work. Working with resin, wood, and metal are my favorite by that doesnt mean you wont see me pick up some other things along the way.
The Impossible Inlay
Finally my most asked question will be answered. "How do you do that?"
In a technique I call 'weaving wood' that I've been doing for a handful of years now, I always am asked the question on how I'm able to make such crazy/intricate designs. So finally I made an quick, yet in-depth tutorial on the process behind the weave. Hope you all enjoy!
Special shout out to @BlacktailStudio and @BlackForestWoodCo for turning me onto osmo products. @StoneCoatCountertops and @AlumiliteCorporation for getting me into working with resin and the different ways to handle it.
knife makers need to check out @AVmake and @RedBeardOps for some sweet knife action!
If you're not into small stuff like this I also have videos on tons of other projects from wood working to home renovations. Just starting my journey out so if I can't fill the ticket then head over to @Iliketomakestuff @modustrial @AprilWilkerson @Foureyes.Furniture @John_Malecki @BevelishCreations @Bourbonmoth @MrBuildit for some amazing content! Thanks for being an inspiration to all of these creators!!

Yet Another River Table
มุมมอง 4883 ปีที่แล้ว
In todays episode we will be doing a different take on the normal river pour coffee table. This table has been an idea of mine for a couple years now inspired by the small scale woodworking that I do. This is Version 1 of hopefully a few different styles. Leave me your feedback in the comments. Do you like it? Would you have changed anything about it? Do you think it will stand up to time? If y...
Our kitchen caught on fire!!
มุมมอง 3483 ปีที่แล้ว
In todays episode we will be doing a FULL ON kitchen renovation. This is the exact kitchen that I've been wanting for years now, and it only took lighting a fire under my ass to get it going ;) Full height cabinets, resin countertops, beautiful mosaic tile backsplash, an actual full sized fridge, convection oven, actual lights that brighten up the kitchen, new floors, and a newly added pantry i...
Paw Print Inlayed Coffee Table
มุมมอง 3683 ปีที่แล้ว
In todays episode we are making a live edge coffee table. Not just any coffee table tough, this is a gift for my sister who loves cats. So, we are using our shapeoko cnc to cut out a set of cat prints walking across the edge of the table, filling those with some deep purple and gold resin, and welding a set of custom legs to go with. Hope ya'll enjoy watching the process of this build and thank...
Makita track saw unboxing and the ultimate storage upgrade
มุมมอง 4.4K3 ปีที่แล้ว
In this weeks episode we get to unbox our new Makita track saw. I've had a circular saw guide for a year or so now and it served its purpose in the beginning however it is unreliable and I needed something more accurate. I chose the Makita track saw over some of the others (festool was out of my price range). I used my Shapeoko Cnc to carve out some hooks and an end cap for the tracks to be mou...

How did all of this fit?
มุมมอง 3534 ปีที่แล้ว
I recently had to tear down my indoor workshop when I renovated my basement bedroom. On todays episode we will be rebuilding a new indoor dust studio with dust collection, a soundproof air compressor, and tons of new storage. This workshop may be small, but when making knife handles and jewelry you don't need much room at all, so this should be perfect! If your doing a house renovation and am i...
Engraved Walnut and Steel Memorial Bench: First Cuts on the Evolution Metal Saw.
มุมมอง 6464 ปีที่แล้ว
In todays episode I will be building a reading bench made out of walnut with a steel frame. I was honored to have the opportunity to make this bench to commemorate a teacher that had passed earlier this year. Overall in this build Ill be using my Shapeoko Cnc a couple times, one of which will be my first engraving into hardwood. I will also be unboxing an Evolution 355 in this video too. If you...
Basement Bedroom Remodel: A Fresh Perspective
มุมมอง 8K4 ปีที่แล้ว
In this video I will be going over the process of removing my chimney (both fireplaces), installing an egress, and fully renovating my bedroom with a walk-in closet. Starting with a sledge hammer on the roof, I work my way down through the first floor and into the basement. The old fireplace will be the entryway into the walk-in closet. After demo is done I install steel studs 2 inches away fro...

Today I'm exploring the idea of pushing yourself JUST outside of your comfort zone when starting a new project. If this idea is consistently maintained over a long period of time, the growth will compound on itself and the results will be something you can really be proud of. For creators just starting out, this tends a healthier approach to learning. Instead of getting burned out or overwhelme...

The Shapeoko CNC Cabinet
มุมมอง 41K4 ปีที่แล้ว
In this video I will be building a cabinet for our recent shop addition, the SHAPEOKO CNC!! Excited to get this puppy to work but first we have to make sure that it has a happy home. A special shout out to @myerswoodshop and @winstonmoy for the amount of knowledge that helped me along the way with this project!
Ultimate Breezeway Remodel
มุมมอง 9K4 ปีที่แล้ว
In the video I'll be doing some demo work on our old and out dated mudroom. Drywall, life-proof flooring, window and door installation, recessed lighting, and even some new siding. With almost 2 months into this project you'll get to see a little bit of everything. Shout out to @homerenovisiondiy and @vancouvercarpenter for being such great resources to learn off of. Hope you enjoy and thanks f...

Great informative video, do have a link to the spoil/waste board file you milled? I am getting a Pro 5 XXL in about a week and want to make those items for my new unit. Thanks
Excellent video; thanks :) Ah, and very cool shirt as well :)
Let’s fuck some shit up. I love your attitude.
do you sell the plans for this enclosure?
Any ceiling mold and/or condensation? Usually attic vent chutes run the length of the ceiling to the ridge vent to prevent moisture. Only ask since you ran HVAC which will warm the ceiling while the roof is cold. Nice work.
I was also concerned about the long-term wear of the joined tracks. I ended up buying the Milwaukee track saw. Milwaukee 55" track and the Makita 118" track so I don't need to join tracks together.
Great video! Doing a basement remodel right now and your video provided some great insight.
That's some work
What T Track is this? You're right this does look very heavy duty, and i like the access slots for sliding in the T bolts at intervals along the tracks.
armor-tool.com/product/36-double-quick-track/
From what I remember, it's held down by 3/8 bolts. It's not going anywhere.
@In The Grain Creations thank you very much.
Hi and thanks for the post. I just ordered my Makita and was reading about the compatibility issues with blades. I noticed you are using Diablo blades with the Makita. As I understand, Diablo has a 5/8" arbor while Makita accepts 20mm. How do you get it to work? Thanks in advance.
Just impressive! Great job👏
Thanks! Sun in the morning makes the world of a difference!
10:06 This pretty cool! What did you use to mix the paints in? Is that a special solution for mixing? Thanks, and awesome build! 😎👍🏼
Nice video, is it reducing the noise a lot ? thanks :)
It's noise reduction is unbelievable!
Dude, those box jumps were legit!
Gotta get your work out in too!
@@InTheGrainCreations right?
Great video with great information, I just ordered my first Marita track saw and i think i will be doing the storage detail you came up with, what size is the kaizen foam?
Much appreciated. I'm just trying to share what has helped me! I went with the 57 mm. Fastcap makes a good mount for the rails too! I switched over to those.
HELLO, DO YOU RECOMMEND THIS TOOL? BETTER JET OR LOGUNA?
The production quality of this video is on point!
you have a very positive attitude. Congrats!
Hey thanks, just trying to share the joy of making stuff
"I fucked up my math." haha. I love it. because I know it all too well.
Looks Good.
Thanks! Having natural light is great!!
What happened with the zero clearance after you cut 45’
When I cut a 45 with my ts 75 the line still held
@@InTheGrainCreations thanks. Would you buy cordless or corded if you are given a choice now since you have used this saw now?
@@bklynwam I like having the cord because I plug it into my festool vacuum for great dust collection
How are you liking the Shop Fox W1837? I just bought one and I’m hoping for the best.
I was coughing for you when you were taking down that insulation. But overall good video. Whenever I finish a project I just look at it constantly makes me happy.
Couldn't take the music
You do a review on a 16/32” sander and then test it with a 2” piece of wood? I’ve got a 6” drum sander that will do that…. Why not do a real world test?
I was more worried about snipe and other things when I first was using it. Plus I do a good amount of smaller stock in general
Drum sanders don’t have snipe unless you are dealing with longer stock, I was referring to a wider board, but I guess it’s all relative unless you get runout on the wider stock.
@@louisgriffin1785 I do actually get a SMALL amount of snip on this machine. Wide boards aren't too bad but still need a little bit of blending with a sander
Very nice.
Thanks!!
awsome had to subscribe
I'm doing one with resin soon!
@@InTheGrainCreations really Look forward to seeing it..
Wondering if you confirmed that the collar ties, cross boards that the ceiling boards were nailed up to, were structural. Normally those are what prevents the walls from pushing outward with a load on the roof.
Herculean task and perseverance- outstanding. I still can’t understand your municipality requiring foliage around your egress well- goes against the 2018 IRC and 2021 ICC codes.
Thanks! You're telling me, I don't get it, but still had to do it. Wouldn't it just impede someone trying to get out
Great job! One suggestion for improved video...The music is WAY louder than your voice. You should bring down the music or raise the audio level of your voice so they are more even. Again, great job on the build!
Thanks! Yeah, I've adjusted levels in my newer builds. This was one of my first videos with voice and music. Learning as I go, thanks for the feedback though!
I just purchased one
You're going to use it all the time!
Great Vid, great cabinet! If I could get some constructive criticism on the video, your music levels are way too hot, I have to ramp the volume up to hear you speak, then ramp it back down when the music blares.
Yeah, it's definitely much better in my newer videos. That was one of my first TH-cam videos, so I had no idea what I was doing (still don't, but it's much better lol).
I appreciate the feedback though! It's the only way to get better
Hey man, are those Bora or Jorgensen parallel clamps?
Bora, great clamp!
@@InTheGrainCreations Man thanks. So much cheaper than the others. Amazon has a package of like 2 40" & 2 50" for a reasonable price..be aboit $120 cheqper than Besseys
@HenryRapaport yeah I have both now and like then both for different reasons. For the price though.. Can't beat it
Did you say you do knife handles
I sure do!
th-cam.com/video/7i8S0fPX8zQ/w-d-xo.html
Well I have a question. I have a old East wing hatchet That belonged to my grandfather and I would love have a handle made for it so I could give to my dad on or around father's day and was wondering if you do that type of stuff.
@Jimmy Tidwell inthegraincreations@gmail.com send me an email with some details!
The dip painting is crazy cool!
Thanks! I try to add a fun touch to most of my projects
Wow! That was a big project. Nicely done.
Thanks! Honesty, I should have built it a little better wider and taller, but she is still rocking strong!
What a GREAT spot to go down to and have a cold beer as well.
Definitely an easier spot to relax in the house!
What a beautiful shop, Man! The envy of every guy in the world. Well, almost every guy. I’d do anything to be able to make that work table. I’m actually seriously considering the Shop Fox W1837 table saw. I started out looking a “contractors” saws and quickly realized that you get what you pay for. I’m assuming the Shop Fox has worked out well for you? Is it true that the stock fence is not the best? I wished I had just an inkling of your skills. Fantastic job! Thanks for sharing!
Well thanks man! I'm very proud of the space I've made for myself in this small space. The table is a beast and I use it everyday(the push to open drawers can be a pain in the butt sometimes but I still love it) The shop fox is a good entery level cabinet/hybrid saw that I would recommend to a beginner who isn't made out of money. That being said, I'm starting to out grow it (precession wise). My fence has done me well thus far!!
Thanks for your kind words, it's greatly appreciated 😊
@@InTheGrainCreations Thank you so much for taking the time to give me some insight on the Shop Fox! I retired a year ago and am wanting to start working more with tools. I only have limited room until we move. If I may ask, what table saw have you considered moving up to? Gosh, I thought the Shop Fox was head and shoulders above these saws you see on the flimsily looking stands, which I do not want. I still haven’t figured out what an actual “hybrid” table saw is. I’ve seen some videos, but the motor being inside as opposed to outside and a couple of other things, seems more like a design technique to me than anything else. I promise I won’t bug you anymore! Thanks again Mitch in Texas
That's a great cart!
Hey thanks!
Late again but thank you for the shoutout!
Why did you add the film on the windows?
Because the windows are huge and we wanted some privacy (especially towards the night). So we can see out over them when we want to, but the light still comes all the time😁
Curious to know how well the cabinet muzzled sound, did it help a lot?
It helps a ton! Between the router itself and sometimes the way the bit hits the wood, you can have a LOT of noise. Once those doors close at least 60+% is gone
@@InTheGrainCreations Nice. Was worried the more doors the more noice would escape
@Cato Aleksander yeah thats true but you need access to both sides. Actually on this model you need access to the left side too to hook the wires up. So I have to crawl into it to get to the other side
@Cato Aleksander you could always do solid pannel doors on the sides so they trap more noise
@@InTheGrainCreations I was thinking a plexiglass dome mounted in the ceiling with guide rails so you just crank the whole dome up. Then I could sound proof the contact surface. Crazy I know but fun :)
Observation if you are talking leave out the music. It's a distraction. The volume increased in the basement section, lost interest trying to hear what was being said under music.
Yeah I was still trying to figure out audio levels. My speakers don't work very well on my laptop as well so that always makes for a fun time. Thanks for the input though, always learning!
@@InTheGrainCreations Thanks for seeing my comment as positive, I’m (old) hard of hearing and watch a lot of documentaries WW2, the ones that play music at the same level as the narration I shut off, and move along. Keep doing what you’re doing,Stay Healthy in The New Year👍🏼

do u get snipe, mine is getting it on the leading edge, is there a video on adjusting for getting rid of the snipe?
I do still get snipe! Cannot for life of me figure out how to adjust it more
i think its a design flaw, very disappointed with this, mine is 2 inches into the wood
@dave buchanan same with mine 😞
just got it figured out , loosen the four screws on the inside for the feed rollers, im going to put up a video in a few minutes
@dave buchanan I did that when I first got it. I have them unscrewed right up until they will come out. I still get a small amount of snipe

What lights are you using..
2 4ft led lights from homedepot
Well done. Great work ethic and all around outlook on things. Keep it up.
Great enclosure, if you don’t mind can you give the dimensions of your enclosure? From the floor to the top and length and width. Best looking enclosure and looks like something I can build.
What a great setup ! Also supper good wood support for your tools...
Hey thanks, it definitely does the trick! Of course I would love a larger shop sometime soon 😊
Looks awesome man! Finish is money!!
Hey thanks man! You helped a LOT with this project, keep doing what you do.
