Rugged Ridge Vent Visors and Bedrug Hardtop Headliner Install
Greetings from Pontassieve, Province of Florence, Italy. What tires are most commonly used in your area for driving over rough terrain with mud and snow? Do you use M+S off-road tires or M+S off-road tires?
Hello! There are many different brands of tires here in the US. The tires that are on the Bronco are Goodyear TA-KO2's. They are an all around good tire. There are two different versions of these tires. They have the less expensive regular tire and also have the Baja Champion line (which is on the Bronco). They are more expensive but last longer and have really good performance in the snow, dirt roads, and pavement. Only downside is that they will do only ok in mud. They can fill up fast depending on the mud you are on. I hope this answers your question.....let me know if I can help answer anything else!
In Tuscany, Italy, in the province of Florence, I have a small, completely original Suzuki Jimny 4x4 with a 1.3 liter m13a gasoline engine from 2001, which I use for trips to the countryside and mountains on dirt roads and forests, as well as for walking on muddy ground. On the road I use a set of Ziarelli retreaded tires, Mud Power m + s model 205-70-15, then I have a set of Hankook Dynapro atf RF 10 m + s off-road tires in the original size 205-70- 15
That is a cool rig you have there! I would love to visit Italy someday, as my grandparents were from Italy/Sicily!
No matter what you drive, add a comment down below! We welcome all offroaders to this channel!
Nice Bronco Raptor! I traded my Willys Wrangler this fall for a 24 Bronco Black Diamond and I really like it.
I really like this bronco as well.....I traded in my Jeep 392 for this one. The comfort and ease of driving is so much better.
I will tag along for the weekend lmk
Looks like you really extended yourself there
It took some time to figure how to do it.....here is a link to the build th-cam.com/video/MexSgTzKdk0/w-d-xo.html
Who makes the heat chamber ??
I believe Autoterm is the manufacturer.
I have a the bigger planar heater on my boat (4D I think it's called) and when it's warmed up and running mine only draws about 1 to maybe 1.3A so I was curious when you said that smaller one draws 3 to 5A. Do you think that may have been a mistake? Thanks for this review by the way, I do love the one I have on my boat enough that I want to get a portable one for winter tenting but I may go with a Chinese one that has a much better build than most, obviously the cost of Planar is steep as you mentioned.
@@aallan8830 The heater location and temperature were the main factors regarding amperage draw. The heater was placed on the ground outside next to our vehicle with temperatures hovering around 0 Fahrenheit.
@@crawl207 Ok, I thought that only the glow plug and the fan draw current, so that once the unit is ignited and the glow plug shots off, the remaining current is only what the fan draws. Is the temperature of the intake air also a factor in current draw?
Did you encounter any language barriers while visiting the Gaspe area?
Not really. Most of the folks there understood English.
@crawl207 awesome thanks
How big a rig do you need to make it?
A car can make it to the trail head.....It's just a dirt road.
Any pointers for light off roading in Southern Maine? Can't find people or locations down here.
it's hard to find places to do light off roading....mostly private owned land and North Maine Woods roads in Maine.
How do I run one of these on my portable power station cig plug
You can't....typical cigarette lighter output is usually 10 amps max. On startup it requires 15 amps. Once running it only pulls 5-7 amps.
@@crawl207 right but I can get a 15 amp AC DC converter
So basically the only way to power this thing is a battery
@@bearlycamping you are correct....the convertor would more than likely overheat or blow a fuse.
I somehow didn’t notice that trail on my anniversary trip there last year, despite being in the closest site to it. Edit: I suppose the reason I didn’t notice it is because it wasn’t open yet when I went.
It's a possibility....I know they open in the spring/summer and shut down sometime in October.
Just beautiful!!!
Thank you so much!
How to do it?
th-cam.com/video/MexSgTzKdk0/w-d-xo.html this is the link to the video
wow.talk about errie!!!!! i always heard over the yrs that if sasquatches are in a territory EVERYTHING GOES DEAD QUIET..... your braver then i am no way would i go there... id be concerned something phyical/spirtual would follow me back....
it was very errie walking through there!
Nice job, I'll have to remember that one when the time comes. I like the way you problem solve. cheers
Thanks, I appreciate the feedback!
I appreciate the integrity to show the bad along with good and fun. Wheeling is a blast, yes, but we have to be practical about some of the things that can happen to us while we’re out there. Thank you for that. You just earned a new subscriber!

Your rig is looking good!
Thanks!
🤩wow très impressionnant ce sentier, trop extrême pour moi, je vous trouve courageux.
Yes, it is a very hard trail. Originally when it started it was a green/blue trail, which was fairly easy, but now very hard!
Where did you get the case? Also what model and or size? Awesome build 🤘🏻
It is a Harbor Freight Case. Model is Apache 3800.
I never gave this a thought. I like it. Thanks for the video
Your welcome!
Great video. I would have loved to actually see the wire harness being made, which is to main modification.
I would of never thought of it ? That was awesome idea 💡 THANKS for sharing

Hey guys, we are currently in Bar Harbor, ME for the week. Looking to get on some trails but having no luck finding any yet. Any recommendations? Thanks!
Hello! There are not many trails down in that area, that a Bronco can fit on. Most trails in eastern Maine are with private land owners. The only area that I would suggest is up in Millinocket area. Many different trails and you can see Mt Katahdin, beaches, wildlife, etc. If you come back towards Bangor you can go up Chick Hill or Bald Mountain...just do a search and you will find where the trail starts for both of those.
@@crawl207 thank you so much for the reply! Happy trails
What trail or mountain is this? From the area and would love to experience this view in person. Great video
Chick hill in clifton
Très beau à voir, je commence ça mois aussi cet été 😊
I hear there is a small grave yard close to the town too?
There is a grave yard, but I've been told it is under water now. It's on the other side of the river from the town.
@@Brraptor The graveyard is not under water, however, it is very difficult to get to. The stream is usually very high and if you go in a different direction the beavers have it dammed up. The graveyard sits up on a hill. BTW, I really enjoyed your video. Great job and great editing!!
Which Bald Mountain in Maine is this?
it's in Dedham, ME
I’m looking to do this same thing, for the same reasons. Can you tell me about the wiring for the switch? I bought mine used, planned on using as onboard for air lockers on a Tacoma. Well now I’ve got a rubicon 😂 so I also prefer not to mount this thing. So I am looking to convert it to portable.
I wired the switch as indicated in the manual, almost. For convenience I spliced the switch hot with the light hot and fused according to spec.5a/15a. By doing this I saved space in the loom with the caveat of the switch being illuminated once the Anderson connector is plugged into the source, not a deal breaker for me.
Nice build. I was in Maine last summer and did a 5 day overland into the North Maine Woods.
Thanks! The North Maine Woods have many different things to see.....
Nice rig what are the name of the storage boxes
They are made by Leitner Designs
nice rig. how has the rugged ridge snorkel held up? Any problems? Thanks. also, what do you do for security? Not personal, but gear while you're on your road. Would seem to be a challenge with an open bed.
Thanks! The Rugged Ridge snorkel has held up well. After a few years it does fade a little, but there are several products on the market that bring the plastic back to new. No problems. Most of the gear is locked, like the max trax, and the items in the bed are strapped down.
@@crawl207 thanks
What model aspen tent is that lite/v1/v2.
It is the Aspen Version 1. Love it so far!
@@crawl207 Good news .. I’m considering buying the Aspen V2 XL
In another video, one man says that the same owner of the Riceville Tannery had another tannery on the Tannery Loop Rd in Amherst, ME, and that that one also burned down, too. Both were covered by fire insurance. Would you have any info or photos of that Amherst tannery? Just curious, I used to take a canoe down that drop, and it also is a local swimming hole today.
I don't have any photos of the tannery. It seemed as though Amherst was a large town, with a college, looking at historical photos. Unfortunately, there are no photos of the tannery. I have also heard that both tanneries were an insurance job, once the industry started to die down.
The tannery business in Maine and other NE states collapsed around 1900. The big player, Shaw and Bros of Boston, went bankrupt and their many tanneries were sold off. In any event, the advent of chemical tanning of leather made it unnecessary to site tanneries in forests where there was access to Hemlock trees, the bark of which was stripped to make a kind of tea used in tanning leather. Many of the tanneries did burn down around this time. In addition, tanneries didn't last more than 25-30 years because the supply of Hemlock trees became exhausted. Then the tannery would have to relocate. Crews worked in the woods stripping bark and delivering it to the tannery.
Great video and awesome rig! What do you two do for water procurement and storage? Do you use a shower system or baby wipes? Looking forward to more videos from you!
That's a solution yet to be resolved. We currently have a 5 gallon pressurized scepter can yet to be installed, due to the winter up here.
Good review. I'm running straight kerosene in mine, runs cleaner and you don't have to worry about gelling.
I appreciate your feedback and the tip about running straight kerosene!
Thank you from Russia 🇷🇺
That is slick. I recently upgraded to UD 60 axles. This caused me to also upgrade the brake MC/booster to the J8. I had to move my Twin ARB from that location as the new MC/booster are taller. This mobile twin ARB DIY is my next step. Ty so much for posting!
Your welcome! Let me know if you have any other questions.
Wow! Now that's living the life! See you soon.
Just like to know why you stay so far behind the vehicle in front of you? Dont get me wrong i never would suggesr riding somebody's bumper but i figure you would want to stay in a tighter group.
We were all spaced out about the same. The conditions were very slippery and at times all we could see were the chase lights, other times we were in a tight group. Conditions change in the Maine North Woods from one moment to the other.
@@crawl207 OK thanks for responding! It just looked like sometimes you was a half of mile apart but I know videos don't always look like what's realy happening. Thanks!
Ive been wanting to go there and metal detect for a few years now. Maybe this year. Be a cool place to camp for a couple nights and recover some history.
if you do metal detect, just do it for the enjoyment....don't take anything from Riceville. I know a lot of folks that have and had very bad things happen to them soon after leaving there with something.......
That was a great recovery and use of recovery stuff! Also great to meet you two!
Thanks!
Great video, thanks for sharing!!
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for watching!
How is it that you can drive Jeeps on that trail when it's closed to ATVS after the first snowfall?
these are all open logging roads at the time of the video.
Maines an awesome state!
It definitely is.....from beaches to mountains.....
Such amazing footage. Thanks so much! My son and daughter in law were on the ride.
Thanks!
