For pros come on that was a very poor ending simply sounds like just another pick up band. At this level come on at least get a bit of structure into the tunes. It can be worked quick and easy with good players 30 minutes before a gig not difficult . This is very amateur.

so many of the blues fests these days....the young bands play funk.....and call it blues....no shuffles....no minor key blues....funk....not blues folks...this is it...BB box or go home

That's a classic Strat sound coming out of that guitar/amp combo, but the player is giving it his own sound. As iconic as that instrument is... that's difficult to do. I sort of wish the sound quality was a little better...

That vocal sounds A LOT like Howlin' Wolf... he's nailin' it.

It's funny isn't it, that on Jimmie Vaughan videos, a lot of people slate him and accuse him of cashing in on his brother's name, as though he took up guitar after Stevie died. Now, we have people saying Jimmie's the greatest and that Anson is 'copying' him (even his hairstyle for fuck's sake!). Anson's been around for at least as long as Jimmie. Is in fact, I believe a couple of years older. They've both grown up in the same tradition of Texas influenced blues playing and are naturally gonna share a few similarities. I've known and loved JLV's playing for many years, but only recently came across Anson and for me he's the better player. Very tight rhythmically, fantastic phrasing and great clean tone. People have said Jimmie's sloppy and compared to Anson, he is. As for the hair, well that's Texan style, right? Charlie Baty and even Kim Wilson when he had some!

From his days in Dallas as a young man Shawn Pittman has developed into a top notch bluesman and Kirk Fletcher, well what can you say he's a killer guitarist. Big Pete never fails to please a audience and one heck of a harp player. Here's a stage full of talent.

Just saw the band at the Towne Crier in Beacon, NY... beyond fantastic. Bought the CD from their performance in Basel, Switzerland. It's been on repeat! For the record the drummer, Jason Devlin.

The "guitarist" is a legend in his own right, perhaps as big as Jimmie. They are both excellent guitar players, but I would not say Anson was copying Jimmie in any way. I hear a couple of licks that resemble Jimmie's but the delivery is completely different

I absolutely agree, Anson never overplays like others....

As long as we're comparing: Jimmy's great, but I hear Anson's playing as more relaxed, more rhythmically & pitch-nuanced than Jimmy's. As far as any similarities, well, this is a funky blues with Kim Wilson; how differently would it be right to play it?
