The Baily lighthouse sits on the south eastern tip of Howth Head in Dublin.
This shoot was short and intense as I changed my mind half way through and raced against time to get the shot.

This was a challenging shoot to say the least. The tide and sunset ended up lining up perfectly for me, but not before I chopped and changed composition a few times.

@@olliebatson4366 Yes it was very good but I like photos out of the camera. Maybe skarpen contrast shadows etc but no removing anything. If that van was there when I arrived I would wait to see if it moved and if it didn't I would walk away.
@@glentoran04 good for you! I drove 2 and a half hours to get there and the lads with the van we’re going nowhere so I allowed myself a little artistic license, so I guess in answer to your question,... yes, I was serious taking a photo with that van there... four years ago 😂

Love the fact that you're landscapes highlight the beauty of this country. Think I becoming saturated with Wales, The Lake District, North Yorkshire, various Woodlands etc, not withstanding their obvious beauty. Have been to Iceland by the way. Well done 👍
Nice shot are you using a 17-55 lens on something like a d7100or7200?
ELTIN JONES that was shot with the d7100 and the Tokina 11- 20 2.8 DX lens which is brilliant btw!
Did the van move or was it brilliant Photoshopping? Love the image by the way. Heading to Galway with herself next month, must check out that castle!

I've been there especially when I've stupidly left my own car in the frame 😱😂

Great video. This castle is on my bucket list for 2018. My last visit the light and tide were against me.
Went to this location last week to try emulate your shots. Got to that tiny ledge beside the wall with the sheer drop.... Nope. :-)
Barry McGreevy, it’s the only bit that’s hairy! After that it’s all downhill (literally;)
here is a tip. When you stand in front of the gate (facing it) go right along the wall. At the end of the wall is a metal "fence" (two metal rails really) were you can just swing a leg over. Now you are inside and can walk across to the other side and avoid the ledge to get around that corner. Is it trespassing? Maybe but it's a well trotten path so you wouldn't be the first and if you are not an ar** about it I don't think anybody minds. I have been there a couple of times for sunrise. You can find my version on my "channel". I went for the landscape format :) Nice vlog Ollie!

Just came across this on my recommended list. Nice work man - the story and the pics were great even if the video/sound needs work :-). I want to see that crazy sky that was too colourful to show - first time I've heard that from a photographer. You HAVE to show us now what that was like! Also why not do a voice-over story over your failed sound vlogs - you may be wasting good story opportunities. Also - you looked like you were "unsafe" in a few spots worrying about vlogging rather than your own safety - perhaps that was intentional for the sake of the story - but take care out there! Sorry about the ranting ... subbed. Good luck with your channel!

Hi Ollie, great video blog - Ireland has some lovely castles to capture. I see you are using your phone to capture you when your chatting - it's going in and out of focus and changing the light - maybe try a camcorder. Enjoyed the video and keep up the good work :)
