I have an 18 month old Prue bred Golden Retriever. She is quite petit, small in stature for her age but very agile, fast and just gorgeous. I have seen both parents and they are pure bred but not the biggest retrievers. Because she is so small, I’m considering breeding her with a Cavalier, as I don’t think that it would be good for her to be bred with a normal sized male retriever.
No he encontrado minigoldens me gustaría tener otro.
For those over-sensational people full of fear, panicking for not knowing what these "miniature golden retrievers" are but not bother to look up, please calm down and let me explain. These so called "miniature golden retrievers" are actually just mixed breeds to resembles the typical golden retriever and thus not inbred mutant freaks. Most newer breeds are actually mixes and most modern breeder communities discourages further inbreeding between close relatives like parent to child and siblings unlike the last centuries ago. Small sizes by itself aren't the problem as dogs are already in generally much smaller than their wolf ancestors, there are already small wolf subspecies roughly the size of medium-sized dogs and there had always been toy breeds since ancient times like in ancient Egypt for specific tasks and adaptations like hunting small prey and moving through small spaces and dense areas. Most of these small ancient dogs are healthy like the Swedish Vallhund. Small dogs have no issues giving birth to tinier pups since the pups' sizes corresponds to the size of the womb and litter sizes. The reason why C-section is more common in some breeds is due to the proportionally oversized heads, not body size. Extensive inbreeding for exotic looks is a recent trend since the Victorian era. Before, it had always been known that unhealthy dogs are extremely ineffective for their work and tasks which is often caused by inbreeding. Breeds like pugs and English/French bulldogs where once much larger mastiff-type dogs rushed to be tinier less than a century rather than mix with different small breeds. Older tiny dog breeds likely took hundreds or even thousands of years to reach the tiny size they are now which is more similar to natural selection.
i had to put my dog of 16 years down a Puggle back in March and we happen to find a breeder a few weeks later who had Mini Golden Retrievers and so we pounced on it and he has been such a sweet smart loving puppy we got him at 8 weeks old and what a great family dog he has been
where did you get it from? I had a golden retriever Chihuahua mix for 13 years and she recently passed due to kidney failure. She was verry smart and a great companion. Wish I could find another one
Every miniaturised breed is the effect of unethical breeding, not concerned with dog's health and well-being. Don't do that, folks. They may be cute but they're just ego boosters. Get a healthy dog.

What a family! You guys look lovely❤
😍😍🤩
I hate dog breeders
Once again I make the mistake of reading the comments of random pricks on TH-cam. While I'm looking for one, I remind you that there are extensions that disable the comments. Your dog is lovely, btw. Best wishes.
whyyyy sooo cute
He's just a little guy
Aww he’s so adorable ☺️ I’ve got a toy poodle the same size.
it’s ugly
Awg hes cinfusion😢❤
That dog is the same size as my mini goldendoodle
Golden retrievers are the sunshine I'll always need ❤
He still has the gene that makes them trip people.
Its been 2 years. Where is Libby? I demand more Libby content.
That is a mixed breed.
This feels like a Peter Jackson camera trick.
Munchkin Retriever.
Not trying to bring any negativity but as an animal advocate, studies do show that it is cruel to have miniature dogs. This is because it's unnatural, just like women suppressing natural hormones with birth control which leads to complications in the end, these dog have their growth stunted by science. They should be able to grow to their full potential, not have their genetics modified to look cute and small when they are meant to be who they are naturally. Please don't support the miniature dog industry! <3 Anything modified is not good for anyone.
Bad breeding practices. Should be a shame 👎🏻
If you want a miniature Golden Retriever, get a Cocker Spaniel. There is no need to breed dogs smaller or larger than their standard sizes.
Corgi mix
There's a comment here saying this breed should not be supported because this "can not be healthy for the dog" but the person doesn't really elaborate on that further, on what's wrong with this particular breed. I wish people explained why instead of just saying stuff then leaving. Anyways, here are some info this person and other people should know: 1. Miniature Golden Retrievers are typically created from crossing a regular Golden with a small dog breed. (I did not see any info about this cross requiring c-section. If you find any, please do reply below.) 2. Some Regular/Purebred Goldens are created via inbreeding. Many pure dog breeds are inbred. Some will inevitably suffer diseases caused by the inbreeding. 3. Mixed-bred dogs are generally healthier than purebred dogs. It's because mixed-breeds have a lesser chance of passing genetic disorders due to their wider and varied gene pool. 4. Lifestyle matters, but it's been reported healthy miniature Goldens lives longer than healthy regular Goldens.
Plus, there are breeders that do take care to breed healthy dogs. Just gotta do your research on the breeder and their practices. There are definitely breeds that are just inherently… problematic, though a lot of those there are breeders who specifically breed the “old fashioned” version that’s much healthier (like bulldogs). And for all we know they could have gotten the dog as a rescue from a shelter. Yes, bad breeding practices need to be condemned and not supported, but it’s not the dog’s fault. The dog exists. The dog deserves a loving home.
@@KestrelDCExactly. Plus, this particular breed doesn't even look problematic. It's body seems well proportioned. It's head is not too big for its body nor are its legs too short/stubby. It literally just looks like a smaller version of a golden. Including the points I've mentioned, I'm wondering what made that person say this particular breed should not be supported and that this can not be healthy for the dog.
breeding an animal to make a “cuter” version is bad no matter what.
@@XXTH3ST4RXX 1. Elaborate. I've already explained why this specific breed is okay. Now you tell me why it isn't. None of that vague overgeneralized nonsense. Elaborate. Write your points. 2. Miniature Goldens are desired by people who wants a Golden but in a smaller form because some find the original size too risky or hassle.
@@al62431. It encourages vanity, back-yard breeding (often involving inbreeding or overbreeding dogs). 2. Just get a small mixed breed then with less health problems. Edit: I do want to note that while minis are TYPICALLY cross-breeds, a lot of them are actually the full-sized breed but with dwarfism that are selectively bred FOR the dwarfism. Which can cause an abundance of issues in joints, bones and organs. I didn’t realise I hadn’t added this. My points are made regarding THIS version and not a mixed breed dog. You explained why YOU think this breed is okay, but that means fuck-all since that’s just what you personally decided. Golden retrievers are prone to a plethora of diseases, as are most purebred dogs (I assume you have access to google to do your own research) that are bred for “cute” traits. It isn’t hard to just look shit up yourself instead of hassling commenters. Not to mention you say “none of this vague overgeneralised nonsense” despite your reasoning for it being “okay” being “vague overgeneralised nonsense” lol. Just because something looks fine, does not mean it suddenly has absolutely nothing wrong with it. Do not bother responding, it’s clear your mind will not be changed even if you did your own research and I certainly don’t have any more time to waste on holier-than-thou internet dwellers.
☺️🤗😍
Lab grown puppy for human’s social acceptance. Very sad. 👎🏻
just a lil guy
Shouldn't exist
What a lovely video.
Oh yeah let's overbreed it even furher. Who cares about their health right?? What's matters is, that you think it's cute
Says the person with an eyelash as their profile pic trying to TURN EVERYONE'S LIVES UPSIDE DOWN. get out, plz
it's prob a mix not inbred
This whole obsession with “miniature” whatever, should STOP. I much prefer a healthy FULL SIZE Golden Retriever, or any dog in their original size… I do not support any mini versions of them.
I think most are from mixing with others breeds so that would maje them healthier
It's probably just mixed with something making it smaller. No such thing as a miniature golden retriever. Just because an idiot throws two different dogs together does not a breed make!
good, all that purebreed is bad for their health and only for boasting
Can we have one with only 3 legs? Would be super cute if they limp!😊
I assume this is satire 😶
When I try run with my dogs they just want to attack me from behind 😂
why no more Libby videos :(
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Dude, I don’t see how kids have so much darn energy. lol
Not too many responsibilities to deal with yet, and dont have to worry about time as much, they got plenty (not saying thats bad tho, they're just kids)
Their body hasn't fully developed, less mucles+ lightweight, doesn't take much to move around, more enegry to spare. That's probably why I never felt hungry when I was a kid, and used to thought 3 meals/day is way too many.
Cute pupper! Looks happy and well-cared for. Best wishes.
Thanks, I have good family :D
@@puppergump4117 Still something to be said about the deliciousness. Golden retriever Meat has already been established as "particularly delicious". Miniature versions have less weight-bearing muscle... and are therefore more "tender" (less connective tissue).

i wonder if miniature big dogs survive longer or do they suffer from weak runt health with more complications
lifespan has more to do with healthy lifestyle than pure size. golden retrievers usually live for about 12 years, but the oldest was 20 years old when it died.
@@billtalent1 There's a general inverse correlation between average breed size and lifespan, but you're definitely right that lifestyle is a major factor. A healthy diet (fresh veggies, meat, whole grains) and an active routine (not just a five minute walk twice a day but full on running, playing with other dogs, a long game of fetch, things like that) are the two biggest things you can do to ensure your dog lives a full, happy life. I really regret the life we gave our family dog. My parents both worked long hours to pay the bills and I was in school or doing sports constantly. We loved our dog but without much money or time we really just relied on cheap, bulk kibble and table scraps to feed her, and since we didn't have a yard, her only excercise was a quick walk before school/work, and a quick game of fetch at night followed by another short walk before bed. She lived barely ten years before we had to put her down due to cancer and advanced arthritis. If I knew then what I do now, I'd've given her the life she deserved :(
we do not question those things. similarly when you purchase a handheld pc and discuss it in forms, the poor battery performance is not something that we mention
more pure breed = less life span, bcs of interbreeding health issues, longest living dogs are mixes, there was a Portuguese dog 31 y/o and it was clearly overweight, died this year named Bobi, u can google "Bobi, the World’s Oldest Dog, Dies at 31"
The bigger breeds die faster because they were breeds to grown faster.
