Here is some video of my HO scale North Coast Limited running on my home layout. I finished up the train last spring. It is a mix of brass and North Star Models kits that I assembled and painted. It is painted with Scalecoat paint and lettered with Micro Scale decals. The domes are Oriental and I'm not real happy with the trucks. I may replace them with Walthers outside swing hanger trucks. Engines are Athearn. I was fortunate to go to the St Paul Union Depot as a teen to see the huge model railroad there, and I would often bump in to my friend Bill Dredge who knew a lot of the engine Crews. He would take me downstairs where we often went up in the engines on the North Coast, as well as the Empire Builder. Great memories, and the inspiration for this model.

Greg, how did you get these camera angles? Camera mounted on flat car?

Very cool. Must be a DC powered layout (no DCC). I am not a fan of DCC; I am old school DC all the way. Impressive layout.

The on-board camera is great, especially the way it was situated between the Great Northern freight engines. The clay-colored roadbed looks just like what they had. Lush, positive scenery = great, colorful art. My favorite part was the freight skirting that steep rock cut and meeting The Empire Builder. That's the only GN passenger train I'm familiar with. And that Hiawatha was kickin' it!

Great layout. I've been out of the hobby 24 years, so really inspiring to at least, see a model railroad since I can't have one anymore. Love the triple-domed "Empire Builder", manned by the classic F-7 beauties.
