Is there a need to press the power button in the obd2 device to turn it on everytime you start the engine?

You should have +12 V permanently on the CAN has nothing to do with the ignition! Check if the dongle has a power button or something

I know it's been forever since you posted this, but where did you find the correct capacitors? I have the same problem on the same tv and am going mad trying to find the right capacitors on ebay, etc.

Thanks Gary! I found a little white pair of sports pants that should fit my great grand son. And if he's like his grandfather, he'll even want to sleep in them. But sadly, since they were second hand, they had a few permanent marker stains on them and now you helped me know how to get them out!!! I'm off to the bathroom for the alcohol and then to wash them before surprising him with his "new" white pants!

I watched a bunch of videos that had multiple steps on how to remove sharpie and then I found yours. This was simple and worked perfect on my flannel shirt, only took three or four minutes. Thanks a bunch man!
