-About The Hero: Captain America (originally Captain America, phonetically is a fictional character and superhero in Marvel Comics written by writer Joe Simon and drawn by Jack Kirby . His first appearance was in December 1940 in the first issue of Captain America Comics , the predecessor of the American publisher, Timely Comics . The character's recurring companion epithets include "the stars-and-striped avenger" and "guardian of liberty" . Captain America's secret identity is Steve Rogers , who enlisted in the United States Army in the early 1940s to serve his country against the Axis powers . The young man was found unfit for service, but he was able to take part in a secret military experiment precisely because of his weak physique. In the process, Rogers' musculature, reflexes and endurance developed to perfection within the natural capabilities and load capacity of the human body. Over the decades, the stories of Captain America as a patriotic character were more or less influenced by political propaganda and civic self-awareness, depending on the era. In his adventures published during the Second World War , he fought against National Socialism with his young companion, Bucky , and then in the early 1950s, at the end of the golden age of American comics , he fought against communist ideology. In the 1970s, the actor was characterized by his loss of faith. With his new partner, the African-American Hawk, his attention turns to the internal problems of the United States, and in the 2000s he took up the fight against terrorism.
