    Jesus wasn’t a Christian and he didn’t start a religion as such. I would say he was anti-religion. He was scathing of Man made rules and regulations. He said there are only two rules: “Love God and love your neighbour” But since then of course , man has continued to make religious laws, rules, customs, rituals, built palaces, got rich, gone to war and slaughtered those it saw as different. We have learnt nothing from his teachings.

    Compelling point in this as well is that the only person in existence with the actual authority to stone the woman was Jesus and He still shows more mercy than us humans.

  • @CCoburn3
    @CCoburn3 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Of course, this story isn't actually in the Bible. It was added centuries after John wrote the original manuscript. Many translations do not include this passage and modern translations note that this is not included in the original. Yet people INSIST on attributing the words to Jesus even though they are problematic. After all, in the Old Testament, God commands people to stone adulterers. (Provided there were the requisite number of witnesses -- a situation that rarely (perhaps never) occurred.) But, in spite of it being added to the Bible, many people who should know better say it is their favorite passage. They are willfully ignorant, I suppose.

    • @Quailplayz
      @Quailplayz 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Nope, it was written in the bible, the Old Testament is different to the New Testament, when Jesus came he changed things since he took all of our sin, so people didn’t have to be punished anymore

      @@xtremej2575 Do you have a modern copy of the Bible? If you do, go turn to the passage in question. In most modern copies, the passage is set off from the rest of the page and there is a note that says it doesn’t appear in the most reliable copies of the original text. It appears that Bibles from the 12th century started including the text. But it may have been discussed by Didymus the Blind in the late 4th century. Still, since the entire text was written at least two centuries before Didymus, even that date doesn’t save the notion that it belongs in the Bible.

    What a lot of people don't know about in this story of the bible is deeper than the obvious. I will not explain the part most understand, but I will say that there was a jewish law handed down by Moses that for certain sins or crimes like repeat stealing, blasphemy and adultery were stoning offences by God's old Mosaic law. However there were rules once a sentence of stoning is served. Like who can take part in that particular stoning. Now if the offence was blasphemy any one who has ever been tried for blasphemy in the past, even if he has been proved innocent or even worse not enough evidence was found to be sure of the person's guilt. The law states that person, in the future cannot take part in judging and help carrying out the sentence in Any blasphemy case ever. Only other cases. Now in this story the woman is charged with adultery as was a prostitute and was caught in the act. Now alot of Jews slept with prostitutes at these days, even if it was done quietly and in secret. The Jewish priests also but they paid higher for a more discreet service so many of their flock didn't even know, Jesus knew that the majority of the stoning crowd (priest's included) were adulterers which in God's eyes would make them all disqualified in taking part in the stoning. Jesus knew that the priest were trying to trap Jesus in asking should he ignore Moses law given by God or not Jesus knowing all. Their minds, said “he without sin cast the first stone” is saying you will your hide your guilty adulterous crime so far as to comit murder to show how much you love God's law. That's why no one dare throw a stone as to incur God's wrath one day. Rather than take the chance, no one man or priest dare cast a stone. Further more. Like a reader correctly states “ Why didn't Jesus cast a stone as he WAS sinless? Jesus came to save not to condem therefore he said to the women “ they are gone they don't condemn you, nor do I. Go your way and sin no more” Jesus was ultimate in wisdom. All praises to father & son

      @@wainwynter5541 It's not that he's too godly, I just straight up don't like that most Christians preach that if you don't believe that he rose from the dead at the time of your death then you're going to hell.

    • @wainwynter5541
      @wainwynter5541 ปีที่แล้ว

      @carealoo744 Most Christians who preach on he'll don't know what they are talking about, unfortunately. If I put a gun to your head and said " Convert now or I pull the trigger," Would you say you had a choice?. Saying "do exactly as I say or spend eternity " buring. Most people would prefer the bullet." It's hardly a way to get a person to love God. Also, all of God's sentient beings have a choice to follow and love him or not. That is YOUR choice. There is no punishment for that. Just don't push anyone else away from the opportunity. To be rewarded with life eternal in paradise. Yes, you must believe Jesus gave his life for you and Rose after 3 days. But nowhere in the bible does it say all sinners burn eternally. We are all sinners, and the wages of sin is death. You will die, that's ALL. These hell preachers only end up pushing people away from salvation. I apologise for the length. But it was important. Take care, my brother sister. X
