Removing bran from your wheat flour
มุมมอง 8K4 ปีที่แล้ว
This homemade sifter will remove most of the bran from your wheat flour that you grind making a better tasting and lighter bread. Made with a wood sander. 3 springs, plywood, small screws and bolts and part of a paints leg to make the sock.
Thank you for the inspiration to make a very similar flour sifter. It works very well. 😊
Dad passed away 2 years ago today. He would be thrilled to know he helped someone out or they liked his video. He was always building something or writing and singing songs. He put several of his songs on TH-cam . Thx again
I am looking to make my own Wheaties. To make bran flakes you have to have whole wheat flaxseed and bran. I don't want to have to buy more products, but I can use what I have in. This is a wonderful little tool you made awesome thank you.
Why not just buy white flour and bran separately?
Really ingenious idea for a sifter. I am surprized that you want even tighter mesh. I have heard that 60 and 80 mesh sift completely the same amount of flour. At home I have used 45, and some bran went through, so many different examples, and since almost no seller sells sieves in EU, also hard to test.
Good job. Thanks for posting.
Awesome contraption to sift flour!! You’re a great Engeneer!!!
Thank you for the kind words. Sadly, dad passed away in 2022. He was a man of many talents. From building helicopters as a kid to writing & singing songs in his late 70s. We all miss him terribly. He would be thrilled to see so many viewed his video. He wrote and sang a Christmas song. Title of it is "Santa wont come down James Eubanks" We think its great. You can find it here on TH-cam. Let us know if you like it. Regards, Jeff
I sure do miss you. I hope you can read this from Heaven. Love this song.
I miss him terribly.
Thank you, I'm 30 years old and your video just taught me what bran is and where it comes from! I always thought flour is flour and didn't know how exactly whole grain flour is different from white flour.
Great!
That so simple. i love it
you can make some postum drink with that bran
At last two years ago when I was applied for electric motor generator hybrid machine (Electric motogen) but in first examination report because of technical defects in claims (obviousness) is not patentable but novelty and industrial applicability of invention is written. If I get any required technical support for invention then it makes possible as patent. If yours or relative well known person will intrested with it then I will provide necessary information. After first examination report when I prepare for submission again about two months peoples admit in goveroment hospital by kidnapping. Then I keep this work aside, days are passed I fail to submit at respective time report. But it is very necessary to spread my concept with you. Thanks.....
Well done James, love your machine :)
truly brillant, awesome solution.
Thanks for this video! Very good machine
Cousin, that's really good... thank you. That is Awesome!!!
Why is the germ and bran removed from wheat? Is it a health reason or a matter of preference in cooking?
Fluffy bread I believe. Bran make it harder and denser however healthier they say
The bran when ground into flour is sharper which cuts the glucose strands in the dough preventing a better rise. You can separate the bran and soak it to have a better rise.
Looks like something you could sell.
Mostly because of preservation, if it would be included in flour, the flour would go bad in a matter of a month. I have baked with home milled flour with 45 sift, and despite flour containing some brain, the taste of pastry and bread was out of this world.
How much would you charge to make me a set up like that?
I'm sorry to say Dad passed away in September, he would have gladly made you one for free. He probably never notice your comments.
@@jameseubanks232 I am so sorry to hear your Dad passed. I will say a prayer for him, you, and your family.
You can get an 80 mesh screen at a pottery supply supply store. It is used for removing impurities when making glazes. If you have a pottery store nearby you should check it out.
