Don’t be depressed. You just realized that the world is run by billionaires and trillionairs who don’t want competition on their monopolies. So don’t support them? How about people just stop supporting them? Put them out of business. You should be happy to realize all of this. Most people are too stupid to question things.

Fair enough, having kids isn’t for everyone, but I think people underestimate how much of human history was built around family as a survival unit. For most of history, there were no pensions, no aged care, no government safety nets-your children were your retirement plan, your caregivers, your legacy. In my culture, the youngest son inherits the family home because he’s expected to take care of his parents. My dad was the youngest, so my grandma lived with us, and honestly? It was great. She was happy, we were happy-it just worked. Compare that to today, where aged care facilities exist and retirement homes can be more luxurious than five-star hotels, yet so many elderly people are still miserable. I work in the medical field, and on my breaks, I talk to them. The loneliest elderly people? Most don’t have kids. Some never had them, others became distant, and a few did everything for their children but still got left behind. But on the flip side, I also see plenty of elderly people whose kids do visit, take them home for holidays, or even care for them full-time like my dad did for my grandma. So yeah, having kids doesn’t guarantee they’ll take care of you. But it greatly increases the chance that you won’t be alone. It’s a gamble, sure-but so is relying on money, aged care, or friends who may not be around when you’re old. No path guarantees happiness in old age, but raising a family has been the most time-tested way to avoid dying alone. Compared to the alternatives? I’d take my chances with family.

Bro you don’t have to be in a “competition.” You can literally live a simple life. Sounds like you need to put some healthy boundaries between you and your parents if they’re constantly nagging you/comparing you to others. And find happiness in simplicity. Also stay away from big pharma. You got to take it one day at a time. And actually live in the real world. Chill out.

Thank you for saying what I always felt young man. I am a 38 year old middle age woman. Life is meaningless. I find peace and meaning in my faith and spirituality. That’s the only way I make it through this world. I hate that people are homeless, starving, struggling to make ends meet. Due to privilege I was born in a middle class family. So I had the opportunity to go to college, grad school. But due to ADHD and autism and it took me longer to get stable work in the workforce. During unemployment I was dehumanized by relatives despite struggling to find work. Why are people on valuable if they are making money? I love religion because death is much better than life. I have no interest in growing old on this planet. I hope I am dead by next year. Tried of chasing paychecks to live. This world is broken. I can’t wait until Jesus returns. God didn’t make the world this way. Humans in our fallen state did. When the King returns no more wage slavery, no more homelessness, no more money. I know some people may view me as crazy. I don’t expect anyone to share my faith. That’s the only way I cope with this sick broken world system we live in.

It’s a shame that we’re led to believe these standards we set for life are high. Wanting to see the world be a better place, people happier, free of the wage labor and all the other chains that society and capitalism bind us with… these should be completely normal standards and desires for every human! Great video

I agree it sucks everything is based around money. But bro, you here for a reason. Sharing ur perspective, even if I have a completely diff perspective, it’s important and people r relating with you. Seems like you don’t have fulfillment. And most people don’t. But life is supposed to be hard. What would joy be without pain. Life isn’t supposed to be perfect, it’s meant to have challenges. And you either see those challenges as opportunities to overcome something difficult or have a negative pov & rot in despair.

@ considering that we are forced into a system where we have to work, pay bills, taxes and rely on money just to simply exist is enough of a hardship for me to want out of this world. We spend 80% of our lives doing just that. I don’t care if you enjoy your life right now, stop thinking about what’s happening to only yourself, look around as well. The wars, poverty, crime, backstabbing, the concept of a social ladder, people with depression and anxiety, is this really a world I wanna live in? Hell no

For a long time I thought that humans were responsible for creating the horrible structures that enslave us and keep us competing against each other all the time. But then I realized there is something deeper. The world from its inception was set up as a cannibalistic world where people, animals, even plants vie with each other for energy. In the animal kingdom creatures feed on each other to acquire the other animals energy . The dynamics is not too dissimilar amongst people.Rather than flesh/calories (the “currency” in the animal world),Money is the currency of energy in the human world . And everybody wants it, wants to accumulate as much of it. This is a structural problem rooted in the design of this world, where creatures must feed on and compete with one another. Which brings us to another point- Could such a messed up world Have been created by a Loving GOD?

You should definitely run out and get a copy of Soren Kierkegaard's "Either/Or." I would never tell you that life is more rosy or peachy than what you say it is in this video, but as the ethical Judge Vilhelm makes clear, your choice to enter into the Ethical Life of career, of marriage, and family, is your responsibility. You are right that you should NOT do it just because it is what is expected from society. You have entered into the beginning of a great spiritual growth that will last a lifetime. Your despair of the present condition is a gift of awareness that you should embrace and wrestle with. The future will surprise you. God bless and keep you in your reflection as it is a gift that points us to a deeper understanding/relation with life and yourself.
