Challenge Collab with Anthony Crammen - My Fave Creator
Awhile ago, I contacted my favorite You Tube creator, @AnthonyCrammen , and asked if he might consider some sort of collab at some point, provided we could figure out something that was a good fit for each of our channels and our viewers. To my delight, he said yes, and we ended up sending each other a box of artistic goodies along with a challenge. (To see the unboxing he did and what he created with the materials I sent him, click here: th-cam.com/video/3l7Mt2YQQRQ/w-d-xo.html)
The main difference was that I knew in advance that whatever he sent me would somehow end up on or as part of a resin tumbler. What I sent him was wide open, although I decided to stay away from textiles and miniatures, in the hopes that he might actually have some fun. As you'll see in this video of what he sent me, the hand gods laughed and laughed and laughed.

Glow and Glitter Sublimation Full-Wrap Tumblers!
มุมมอง 5Kปีที่แล้ว
Today is all about sublimation - no resin allowed! (Actually, that's not true, because I often resin over sub cups, but just not in this video.) I took five different sublimation tumblers glow and glitter and I wrapped them in five different full-cup designs. Then I cooked them all in my Hitprex tumbler press and showed off the results! I still need a little work on the bottoms, but all in all,...
Hydro Dipping Two Tumblers in Easy Marble Paints

It's beautiful weather outside, so let's go out on the deck, fill up our hydrodipping bucket with water, and dip-and-twist some tumblers! I used 2 cups a shimmer sublimation tumbler and a matte black spray painted tumbler and 8 different colors of marbling paint from the Marabu Easy Marbles collection. The marbling gods were on my side, but the camera gods laughed and laughed and laughed. JOIN ...

Applying Solar Colored Dusts with Tack It Method: WHAT??
มุมมอง 1.8Kปีที่แล้ว
Something I've really wanted to try is applying powders that change color in the sunshine onto a tumbler using the Tack It method, just to see what would happen it's one of my myriad experiment ideas! So that's what I decided to do in this video. To add a little extra to it, the tumbler I applied the powders to is also a glow in the dark sublimation cup. Oh, and there's a full-tumbler waterslid...

Mystery Ghost Swirl Epoxy Tumbler + BAD NEWS!

Dripping Alcohol Inks through Raw Epoxy Method Glitter
มุมมอง 3.1Kปีที่แล้ว
I've made variations of what was originally called the "cow print method" and I've wanted to try this variation for awhile now. The idea is to drops inks all along what's the bottom (or top, if you prefer) rim of a tumbler covered in raw (uncoated with resin) glitter that was applied using the "epoxy method". Then use clear 91% isopropyl alcohol to send the inks flowing further and further down...
Aurora Holo Flakes, Foil Butterflies: Solar Color Dust

Celebrating "Magic Peacock Inks" from Woodes Goodies

Recently, I was scrolling through all the luscious micas at @woodesgoodies2437 and I happened to notice a collection called "Magic Peacock Inks". Needless to say, I had to investigate. Rainbow Woodgrain, Foiled Hearts, Gold Snot, & Hyacinths
มุมมอง 1.9Kปีที่แล้ว
I set out to make a rainbow woodgrain tumbler, and boy did that go sideways quickly! You'd think after three years of doing this whole resin tumbler gig, my "mind's eye" would be a little better at ... well, seeing things accurately. But no; apparently, it's pretty much blind as a bat at times. Anyway, I went on to throw a number of "well, let's see what happens if I try this" things at it like...
UV Resin, Rainbow Cakes, and Waterslides - WHAT?!
มุมมอง 1.5Kปีที่แล้ว
I absolutely love the watercolor graphics from a certain artist on Etsy (Kate Rose), and I decided to feature almost an entire collection of her rainbow desserts in this video. Using Design Space, I made the beautiful graphic sweet treats all different sizes and created a collage of rainbow deliciousness that I printed out as a full-wrap waterslide. After wrapping that waterslide on a 20-oz tum...

Excellent. I would have never thought you could ever sublimate a box!!!! Awesome
Me neither, but definitely glad I gave it a try. it’s a nifty extra that could land a sale 😊
I ❣️ love it! Instantly I saw 👀 a Brain 🧠 when you pulled off his Skull 💀. Check it out. See if you can see what I see. 😁
Very cool observation - I never noticed at all 😁 🧠💀
Love these tumblers. What did you paint them with?
@@judyvinson779 the green one was spray painted with a dark green Rustoleum matte paint. I think the name of it was forest green or hunter green. The silver tumbler wasn’t painted at all, it was straight out of the box then cleaned off with some rubbing alcohol.
Love your art❣️
Thank you so much!😊
How can you clean the paint off if you do not like the design at all?
There are a couple ways. One is to use acetone (nail polish remover), which will dissolve the paint and then you can wipe it off (but this is very messy). The easiest way is to let the bad dip dry, then spray paint the entire cup white (or any other color) and once that’s dry, dip the cup again.
So it seems that the bits that already pick up the paint when additional paint washes over it, the topmost layer doesn't stick?
I’m not sure I understand the question. Once the cup is dipped and still underwater, I use my free hand to swish the remaining floating paint aside so it doesn’t have a chance to touch the cup and potentially ruin the design as the cup is pulled up out of the water. Does that answer your question?
Both are pretty especially the canvas. 👍 Great job
Thanks so much! 😊
Love this!! very pretty
Thank you! 😊
the only time I put the tattoos on after the resin is if there is text to show up correctly and not backward. Otherwise I always apply before resin.
did you coat the mold in mold release before or after the tattoos?
Yes, more like a very light mist from far away.
Omg, you can get wrinkles and bubbles?? 😳😳😳lol 😂
Thank you so much for this tutorial! This swirl is amazingly beautiful!
Thank you! 😊
Love the cup.... I know its been years since you created this cup but how did you clean your bottles and tips?
Thank you! 😊 I actually never did clean those bottles, lol! I still have them, all mixed up. But the bottles and tips are actually really easy to clean with more alcohol. The micas just run right out and once the alcohol evaporates, everything is cleaned and ready to re-use.
So beautiful! I’m a newbie to pouring paints and tumblers. So glad you showed how to marry the 2! ❤
You are so welcome! Thank you for watching 😊
Hi so did you seal them with anything if so what was it also for the inside was it stained very nice video thanks
The outside of the tumbler was first sprayed with a couple layers of clear spray paint, then covered with a layer (or two, if necessary) of epoxy resin. I don’t put anything on the inside of the tumbler, but if some of the marbling paint gets inside the rim of the cup, it can be easily cleaned out with acetone. Then the entire finished tumbler gets washed with soap and water before it goes to a customer or given as a gift. I hope this answers your questions. Thank you!😊
@@Luxinda ok thanks
Will the resin crack if the tumbler is dropped?
It definitely can crack if the tumbler is dropped. A care card is included with each resin tumbler, and one of the things mentioned is to be careful not to drop the tumbler.
Are the tattoos regular temporary tattoos for your body?
Yes, they are - they work really well on tumblers!
I miss you
This is so helpful to know especially for a beginner like me but have you tried on a all black glitter tumbler to sublimate on if so how was it
I haven’t tried a black glitter tumbler, but I did try a black shimmer sublimation tumbler. Complete failure! The sublimation paper stuck to the cup so completely, I couldn’t get any of it off, even using water and scrubbing. So I sort of ditched the idea of sublimating on black tumblers. However, that was just my one-time experience. Others have probably had better luck.
@@Luxinda see I’m new to the sublimation world and I was curious since I want to try a Halloween them sub I might give it a try I have searched and couldn’t find anything so a little scared but life’s about risk lol thank you so much for messaging me about it because again your videos rock 💕😊
Hey, Luxinda! Revisiting this video. Hop you’re doing well!
@@jerritanner275 thanks very much!😊 Doing quite well!
@@Luxinda 💖
How much if part a part b for resin did you use in order for the epoxy to bend
@@tammytaylor6732 the owl was an art resin with 1:1 ratio of parts a and b. The bending comes from taking it out of the mold after about 8-10 hours, before it’s completely set and hardened. Each resin cures at a somewhat different rate, so you’d need to experiment to see when it’s set enough to not be sticky but still be bendable.
Why the alcohol spritz?
@@rosemarshall4986 I’ve found it pops air bubbles in the resin a lot better than using a heat gun or torch.
Ok great to know, thank you for the quick response
Gorgeous! I have to try ❤
Thank you -- have fun! 😊
Not a bad looking cup, considering it wasn’t how you wanted it to come out originally
Thanks! 😊
Do you think having resin as a base and then putting heat transfer paper would mess up the resin base? I haven’t found anything saying not to do this but I still don’t know
It definitely could mess up the resin. I recently was trying to repair a tumbler by heating the resin to see if I could soften it and press out a lump. What happened instead is the resin completely cracked like glass -- it pretty much ruined that layer of resin because air got in under the crack and the resin started to pull away from the tumbler. So if you have a layer of resin then try to heat press something onto it, that sort of cracking could happen. There might be a lower heat setting that would let you get away with pressing without cracking the resin, but I honestly don't know what that setting would be, and if it's too low to properly set the heat transfer paper. Of course, it could also work just fine, but you'll need to do some experimenting to find out. If you do give it a try, please come back and let us know what happened.
You did amazing I love it
Thank you - it was so much fun!! 😁
Hi. If I wanted to coat a test tube in one colour. What would be the best practice? Thanks.
@@HarrisonDavies Great question! If you want an even coat all over the outside, start by using isopropyl alcohol 91% or higher, to clean the outside of the tube thoroughly. Then find a small tray or dish that’s bigger than the length of the test tube. Lay the test tube on its side in the tray, and pour the alcohol ink all over the tube, carefully rolling the tube around some more till it’s totally coated. Obviously when you pull the tube out, some ink will drip off, but you should still get pretty even all-over coverage after it dries. I would suggest wearing gloves so your hands don’t end up the same color as the test tube. If you try this, please come back and let me know how it goes - I’ve never actually tried something like that. Good luck!!
Absolutely gorgeous
Thank you! 😊
What’s on the other side?
Of this tumbler? Nothing.
I love it too!! It’s perfect. I’m a little extra witchy too!!
Thank you!😊
So pretty 🎉 Did you let it spin all night?
Thank you!😊 yes, I let cups spin all night, especially alcohol ink swirl tumblers.
Love that you put touch of glitter in your resin lovely work
Thank you!😊
Beautiful
😊 thank you
Do you add the paint on top of plain water or do you mix something with the water?
@@josephineacamporajoey1894 it’s plain old water from the garden hose. The Marabu marbling paints I used in the video are formulated to float on top of the water, so no mixative is necessary in the water.
Beautiful, just joined your channel. Look forward to watching more videos 😊

@@rikihaukaas1729 glad you enjoyed it!! 😊
Have you noticed a difference between A sub 125 and A sub 120? Would one work better for different things? Thank you 😊
@@anneosborn475 great question! I have used both, and I do think the 120 is a little brighter with color transfer than the 125. However, it’s not so noticeable (to me) that I would toss out the 125 I have left, if that makes sense. But, yeah, when I’m ready to buy more sub paper, I’ll get the A sub 120. As for working better in different situations, I haven’t really tested that, so I honestly don’t have an opinion. I know Angie Holden has done many, many sublimation tests on her channel and might have a better answer for you.
