603LostRoads is my attempt to Log and Document as many Old Town Roads in the state of New Hampshire as possible. This Page is devoted to respectfully filming a pass threw of as many of these roads as possible before they are Lost back to Nature, to private Property or lost to time and development. Once a "class 6" road is shut down, destroyed Gated, or otherwise lost, the chases of it ever coming back are minimal. I do not thrash roads, i do not intentionally rut up, rip mud, or blaze my own paths. That is not the intent of this channel. You will never hear much talking, or music in the background. Enjoy these roads for what they are in the peace and tranquility of New Hampshire and its wilderness.
Bowen Brook Road
WAY up north from back in September of 24. Forest Service Roads are nice trips that anyone can do with about any vehicle. they open the roads after mud season, fix them and they stay open until winter. great places to hike and camp. This one has some more to explore with the actual off road truck. Recorded from my daily so we stopped at the "end" but it appears that there is about half a mile more to see some day.

Would this be a good ride on a dual sport motorcycle?
@AdamAnthonyAdventures I'm not a motorcycle rider so I wouldn't really fairly be able to answer that. I would imagine if you came in substitute Road and then went up old Green Hill it wouldn't be bad.
Good stuff, loving all these videos you’ve been cranking out
@ExploreX4 thanks. I've been trying to restrict myself a little bit from posting so frequently. I've got probably about 30 to 35 roads in the cannon on my computer to be uploaded. I kind of want to spread about throughout the winter so I can keep my channel active. I've also got about 5 to 8 more that I want to hit before winter. Haven't really been out the last two weekends because last weekend was youth weekend for hunting, and this weekend in New Hampshire was opening weekend for muzzleloader season. So I'm trying to be respectful of the hunters and the Sportsman. I have a leaf spring shackle that needs replacing as well before I get too crazy again.
What app or maps are you using to find all the class 6 roads? I’m in the group on Facebook but not everyone shares locations. Would love to find more roads or folks to go with. Thanks and keep up the good content
@samoc28 I use Gaia to first find roads. Then, Before I head out, I like to cross reference the roads with Town Tax maps to research property lines and also an app called Huntstand. These can help ensure I'm using roads that are still public and not private property. I used to be part of the class6 nh page on Facebook, but I got kicked off for Road named sharing. And also divulging that a member of GSO threatened to shoot me in the woods if he and his club ever found me on "their trails" I have about 40/45 more roads recorded that I'm slowly posting over the winter to keep the page active
Just checking in. Thanks for the location. My son and I had a great time on this trail At the split their in the beginning we took the rocky section up to where it joined back up with the trail above. It was very technical and challenging but lots of fun. We really enjoy your video's and finding all these lost treasures for others to enjoy. look forward to more video's.
Thanks Scott! i was curious to try that straight ahead section but with just me out there i decided to bypass it. also it documents the easier route if others want to try it. That road is probably one of the top 3 I've done this year and i loved it. Hopefully you both did as well. There are SO many other roads out there to try when i have time.

Where is the start of this one having trouble finding the road.
@ScottPreve I went in from downtown Warner over the Dalton Bridge. It's a covered bridge on I think it was called West Joppa Road to the end where it has an intersection with loud Lane and East Joppa Road. I took a left there and went about 100 yds and the road is on the right to a sign that says no ATVs. It came out on Bound Tree road. Entry point very near 43.2559594, -71.8067767
This seemed quite challenging in places. Interesting, at least. Not somewhere to take a cute ute.

Why do people need to dump their trash in the woods, I hope you reposted it to the town.
@richardwhite3708 the town is aware of the situation the exact wording "we're exploring what options can be taken" Fish and Game said "it's a local law enforcement situation" and nhDES said "without evidence of contamination it falls outside of our jurisdiction" Your tax Dollars HARD at work 🥱😏🙄
My son and I hit 3 of the roads from your videos today. We had a great time and look forward to more videos giving us great places to ride with a variety of technical skills required.

Thats a nice scenic trail. There have been some trails here in Florida that have become spots for homeless camps. Trails like that have been closed off or have been turned into some type of development project.
@@itsaboutfam I did a little bit of off-roading north of Panama City back in December of 23 a little ways from the Panama City Beach airport and yes there was definitely some homeless problems in and around the trails in that area
@@603LostRoads It's only getting worse in some areas unfortunately. One other thing is morons are doing stupid stuff on the trails here and causing trial closures by their selfless actions.
@@itsaboutfam that happens everywhere sadly. i don't believe its the off road community as a whole, just more or less locals to an area that misuse and disrespect the area.
Awesome trail. Any obstacles that might be an issue not showing on video
It can get tricky in a few places unless you have a good amount of clearance or are really comfortable with knowing where your tires are. When you first go in on this end that I go in in the video, watch out for the gate. I don't know if it's the neighboring landowner or if it just moves but I have come up to that gate and it doesn't stand out very well and it's like 25 to 30° into the road and you could really do some damage to the front of your vehicle if you don't see it. It's at 30 seconds into the video on the right. Also, The bypass up the hill near the end is narrow and it's kind of a deep drop into the hole before you go up. If you have a really set up you'll be fine. If you have a good set up off-road rig you may not even need the bypass. I've seen a video of the Granite State Off-Road Jeep club coming through the actual washout but I wouldn't suggest it unless you are quite skilled and have someone with you. Just take your time and crawl and enjoy. This road was actually completely shut down
@@603LostRoads can you provide a gps starting point
@JOsorio7007 43.484873,-71.403909 there is a road right before it that's about the size of an atv trail but that's officially the road. This gps pin is the start of the road. The first like 150 ft is a shared driveway with a sign but the property doesn't begin until after the road. I think they probably put that up because people were coming up their driveway instead of taking a right and going up Belknap Mountain Road
@@JOsorio7007 if you are using the Gaia app the road does not show up at all
This seems like an interesting drive😊
nice ride. there are miles of roads between canaan, dorchester, hanover all enclosed in one huge woods, called the gore. from upper turnpike to 118 basically. used to belong to some rich guy from beneficial company. anyway its all gated now. the bear guy has collared bears out there supposedly. when i was younger we used to go out there. it was pretty rough then but most of the roads can be driven by car now. you can still walk or hike. i mention this because there may be some places off 118 that could be interesting. 4a as well. have fun.
@orionoutdoorsandworkshop5617 I've heard this is a mountain bike club that's taken over this area around Dorchester. Some of their barriers are not legal and some are.
@@603LostRoads your right. i hope you can still get through some of them. we used to find some good places off the back roads out there.
@@orionoutdoorsandworkshop5617 I haven't reached out to the municipalities in those areas yet. I have about 75 towns that I have sent emails to. About 3/4 of them have responded with varying degrees of helpfulness. That's probably going to keep me going at least through this fall I would like to expand further west and southwest into next year. I do know that I will need to improve my rig before tackling a lot of the stuff over on the west part of the state as it gets a little more challenging than what we have here in the South Central Area
@@603LostRoads your doing your research for sure. i will be looking forward to more of your videos. yes rigs can be expensive.
damn dont look like much of a road. is it really open? be nice to have a group run through it once in a while.
@orionoutdoorsandworkshop5617 everything I found online shows that this is indeed a Class 6 Road, and an email received from the town Department also confirms that it is still class 6 road way. There was a logging operation done in there a few years ago and they did a complete clear-cut period in some places they caught on both sides of the road. This allowed the regency and undergrowth to grow pretty wildly and full. A lot of it looks like it bent over into the road, probably with heavy snowfall last winter. There is a gate at the East end but it's not locked. It's two wood poles with a piece of PVC pipe slid through the middle it definitely meets all the requirements of a gate or bar that is allowed on a Class 6 road.
@@603LostRoads cool keep on finding those roads. it still would be nice to see some folks drive through just to keep it open.
good to see some landowners still allow people to cross their land. are you in a 4 wheel club?
@@orionoutdoorsandworkshop5617 there are a few good landowners that still allow it. Luckily most of these roads depicted in my videos are actually still public rights of way owned by the towns. So in a sense the neighboring landowners don't really have a say in the matter. But I tried to be as respectful and quiet as I can as to not disturb or upset the neighboring property owners. They can indeed petition a town to close access to these roads or in some cases turn ownership over to the budding landowners
@@orionoutdoorsandworkshop5617 and no I am not a part of a four-wheel drive club. This is just me enjoying a hobby and pushing myself to try a few places that I may normally not be comfortable going to. This was a rather Advanced Road for somebody who just has 31 inch tires and four-wheel drive

@@603LostRoads right, they can. i have seen it done. in fact the old hall rd in canaan. used to be a cool trail, not to challenging but nice. also was called bear pond road, rt4 to talbot hill rd. its a no-go anymore and i been through many times in the past. landowners wont even let you cross to walk through now. they kicked me out when i came out by someones yard while hunting on foot. they were not friendly and treated me like i was a trespasser. i have walked every inch of those woods over the years when there were no houses or belligerent property owners. on the goose pond side the damn guy just put a pile of dirt and dug a ditch, he does NOT own the property and just is jealous or something. we used to park at the end to hunt and you cant even do that anymore. in this case just being an a$$. there is no reason some of these places should be closed off to public use. take care and have fun.
Nice job! That’s my driveway where you started - slight right for my driveway. That first bit it very steep then very rough. It’s difficult even on a dirt bike. What are you driving? A jeep club comes up the road, opposite direction you did, once a year. (Saw your sticker and here I am…)
@AdamAnthonyAdventures I don't have anything too crazy for a vehicle. It's just a Chevy Silverado short bed single cab. I used to ride that road with my grandfather back in the early nineties. Back then, there were only two homes on that road. Trembleys and O'Neill's. I hadn't been over that road since probably 96 97. Back then the bridge was still safe unusable for automobiles. It was quite a surprise to see how much the road had been extended. I do hope that the sticker was not received in a malicious or upsetting way. I try to be respectful of the land and not make myself to be a nuisance in the few minutes that I get to enjoy these old roads but also find a quiet way to share my explorations.
@@603LostRoads nah- cool sticker… all good. Just since we’ve been here, less than 10 years, our end of the road got really washed out. The culvert at the bottom of that first steep bit was clogged up and the water went down the road instead of under. There is some interesting history here for sure.

@ExploreX4 it was totally unintentional! I was told "oh its about a mile, and it's all clear road" haha. Well rain was coming and it was darkening fast.. AND it turned out to be over 2 miles with some rougher spots. It's definitely an easy stock friendly road. Just rougher than I was anticipating. I generally don't like night wheeling. For myself or the home owners on either ends. I try to be respectful and responsible and after a recent accusation and incident I wanted to use this road as an example of how easy it can be to make mistakes even after preparation and educating ones self prior to making a trip.

Well , I'm the king of Gilmanton and if anyone gives u guys any trouble... U come see me
@@thomasdaddio741 there's no trouble to be given. This is a private road and this was my mistake. So there is a road that connects to this that is public still. The road in the video is public in the center for a short amount of length. But that's because it's public land.. Each End of the Road in this video has been turned over to landowner possession. It's actually confusing but not confusing if it's all broken down as it was to me.
