This is the most banging area theme in the entire game. I've found myself just staying in Ancient Chaos for longer than I had to so I could keep listening to this

Funny if you think about it, but the reason the escape sequence doesn't have a timer is because Loki is waiting for you to leave before he brings the house down, as a way to pay back for your freeing him.

This area will always remind me of having to memorize mantra combinations for that room with all the gravestones. Also, I swear it was called Dark Lord's Mausoleum. Did they add the "Star" part into the name with an update, or was it always like that?

Finally unlocked the bosses of this area today. I feel like you don't need to do as many bosses in a row as dimensional corridor, but that the bosses here are harder on average.

This game sure does love to turn ancient mythological depictions into crazy sci-fi alien machinery. I love it. In the next game Jesus will be a guardian and he uses his giant cross as a laser cannon.

Ima be listening to this on repeat for a while. I started a blind playthrough of La-Mulana 2 because I screwed myself over and cheated through every puzzle in the first game, and you can't just forget the solutions.... I haven't played it at all recently because I'm busy with school however I'm recording my pain in videos with audio. One day I'll finish the game all by myself. I might have to lap the ruins entirely but I will get it one day.

Fun fact: this song is actually based on the boss theme for GR3, a Gradius fangame that Naramura and co. made prior to La Mulana. Vritra himself even resembles the stage 6 boss in GR3.

It’s weird, but sections of this feel strangely reminiscent of Giants’ Rage from the first game (0:43-0:57 is a great example). That’s not even the only time this game does something like this - Eternal Prison is basically just a slower-paced remix of Sabbat (the Tiamat battle theme) from LM1. 0.o

I used this as the final boss theme for my own first game. It wasn't a great game, but I'm proud of it nonetheless, especially for that boss fight.

The Gate of the Dead was one of those areas in the La Mulana 2 that carried the feeling of "Wait, should I even be here?" that was so prominent in many areas of the first game.

It's kinda sad you lose this theme for the rest of the game once you awaken the Hall of Malice because this is one of the best themes in the game.
