This reminds me of my dad! He passed away in October of 2022. I think of him and miss him everyday. He left a wonderful legacy of his deep Love for the Savior!!! I can never describe the comfort it has given me to know that he is no longer suffering, but spends his days basking in the glow reflected by the glory of The Father & The Son. He gets to sing their praises in a place where there is nothing but peace, joy, and happiness. When I think on these things I can think, “Good for you dad, you got your well deserved rest.” “I miss you, I love you, but I will see you again someday.” I’m so thankful that I was raised by God fearing, praying parents. However, if you weren’t that isn’t a requirement. We accept Jesus on OUR OWN MERIT. We don’t inherit our salvation. Jesus is waiting with open arms for you to accept him into your heart. “For God so loved the world that WHOSOEVER believed in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16. My dad was an assistant pastor for over 20 years. I never once felt ashamed to tell people I was his daughter. He had an 8th grade education, and trouble reading (likely undiagnosed dyslexia). However, he was incredibly smart & handy in many other ways. The most important reason that I was so proud to be his daughter was his gentle; caring, generous character, and the great Godly love that was placed in his heart. He gave me the greatest gift that a parent can give a child…..he brought me up in the manner which I should go (teaching me of Jesus)….and though I have been rebellious, hateful, bitter, a brat, stubborn, strong willed, etc, etc…..deep down in my heart of hearts I always knew that Jesus was everything that He says that He is. I did not depart from the training of my early years. So parents if you are wondering if it makes a difference taking your kids in church……it makes a difference!!! It is the solid foundation that they need for the trials in life that are sure to come. Jesus never promises that life will be easy. What he does promise is that He will never leave us nor forsake us. I am 45 years old now. I can firmly say that I have left God (or tried to) but He has certainly NEVER left me 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
