Crazy how quickly this mall went downhill once Covid hit. Only a year after you filmed this the mall was pretty much dead; it finally closed in April 2024.
Yep, I visited the mall on the final day it was open, and uploaded a video from the 2nd to final day.
I was there about 3 weeks before this and I only saw construction guys and maybe about 10 people walking around but unfortunately most of the stores were already closed so I couldn't buy anything😩
Can’t believe it’s closed that mall was like a tree, it was one of those things that I knew was open every day. Then again not much to expect from a dying mall, but it’s not without saying that it had potential this mall was both beautiful and in a decent location if they really tried they could have gotten this mall up and running, Namdar realty really let this place go to hell. I’m happy I got to go to this mall on the regular and visit I’m glad I got to see this mall in it’s prime as a kid in the early 2000’s and it truly saddens me how this mall had a slow steady downfall. I will miss this mall and it’ll break my heart even more the day they decide to demolish it to build something on top of its ruins. To those who remember this mall in its prime and saw its downfall you’re really watching a piece of history, RIP Stratford Square Mall. You will be dearly missed by the ones who experienced your best and worst days
I had a similar experience, since I always went to Stratford back then in the early 2000’s, watched it go from doing well to closing. Namdar did nothing for the place.
@@retailadventures6, however what really bjens the most is your tyoucal Amerucan respinse to it, demokiah it and build housing… im hoping someone daring enough can make a video of its abandoned remains. I actually saw the theatres remains a couple months ago and i still need to post the video, i was un officially kicked out of the mall as i heard the security guy coming for me on his E scooter so i booked it out of there, glad i had my fun amd was able to explore it before it closed i have that piece of stratford with me forever
@@shadowman3591That is interesting you snuck into the former theater! Please do post your video, of that.
R.i.P. I hope those who visited here or worked here will enjoy their memories.❤😂
Im going to miss that mall
That mall is so pretty omg, its sad to seem them like this. The huge mall near me is doing very well
I had to upload the video again, this is the same one as yesterday.
I have passed that road many times. Hope you are doing well man!
Just saw this, I am! Hope you are also.
They must have had trouble getting the sections aligned considering the long delay after the bridge lowered until the gates rose.

I take the Hanover Park Train station for work so I'm very familiar with this Train Line. The way to get to Chicago for sure.
Now all it needs is a bus to come along and jump the gap. 😉
Why is the light green
I Don’t Know
filmer was already hypnotised arriving at that there bridge
1:30 Federal signal Model 55 horns can be herd. North plankton, water street and East Pittsburg have these horns,
Ngl, it sounds like wind chimes with the bells ringing all together.

Nice catch of the F59PHI! Those are pretty cool to see.
That’s pretty nice!
Very Nice!
I can't believe there was this much life at this mall only two years ago, considering what it looks like today. So wild and so sad. It's a beautiful mall!
Lol
WOOOH, THIS IS THE MONSTER OF TRAFFIC LIGHTS!!!
We were just in Milwaukee a few weeks back and saw the bridge lift. The one we saw was where the whole road went up and didn't split. Milwaukee is so underrated.
Didn’t see this until now, Milwaukee is definitely a cool city to see.
Great and excellent video of Spring Hill Mall!!! 🤗❤️🤗❤️🤗❤️ I live in Elgin since 1987 and I married my husband in 199 and my 30 year old twin son's were born in 1991 we all moved to the Rockford, Illinois area 15 years ago in 2007 so we go to Cherryvale Mall not all of the time but once in a while. When my twin son's were little we were here all of the time the 4 of us as a family and sometimes to o at Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, Illinois. I haven't been to Spring Hill Mall since 2011 but I want to take my twin son that lives in the Rockford area with me to visit this summer since his twin brother his in the us army and his married and I have a 2 year old grandson living on base in Fort Polk, Louisiana but they're going to be moving to Korea in September. I told my son I would like to see visit Spring Hill Mall and Woodfield Mall because I remember all of the great and fun memories we had at the mall even before I married my husband and had a family I was at the mall 4 times a week. I'm 57 years old and I love exploring dead and abandoned malls through here on TH-cam and you're spot on now that the original food court is gone it's nothing and it never will be but I'm glad and hope it's being well kept and I'm glad it's still doing good but I hope it never comes to the unthinkable and that's why I want to visit before anytime the mall happens to go under quickly. 🤔🤔🤔
I haven’t stopped at the mall recently however I will note the new owners of this property are not good.
THIS MALL SUCKS WY CAUSE ITS DEAD THATS WY🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
That’s so sad because Spring Hill mall is going downhill
