    It's a staple workhorse for sure. It's been around forever. There *are* many other better mics out there at the same approximate price point or a few dollars more but it's durable and sounds pretty good for what it is. Generally, it's a little muddy in the mids and has a fairly "closed" sound compared to many others. I prefer the Beta 58A, which is a brighter mic with a boost in the top end, with much more clarity then the SM58. Having said that, some voices sound better on SM58's than others. Most people will sound decent on it, though, and that's a huge reason why it's used so much in America. Easy to EQ as well. Lots of other countries have steered away from these a long time now, though.

      If you are interested in flamenco and latin go for classical. Acoustic if you are a pop and country guy.

    I can't really differentiate between the sounds of bass and rhythm guitar, it sounds the same, especially if they used 7 string/ 8 string guitar

      Well typically in most songs with both, they are playing the same thing, it's just in different octaves

      (Correct me if I’m wrong) Usually bass doesn’t play chords, nor sound as scratchy, and in most songs you will not hear a bass guitar as loudly as it’s job is to be the.. base of the song, with everything else laid on top

      The SM in the name stands for Studio Microphone as it was originally meant for studio recording. However, it's mainly used for live performances as generally condenser mics are generally preferred for recording. Some people do record with the SM58 in their home studios with great results, though. If your recording space is in a noisy location then this would be a cheap option and should serve you well. You wouldn't want a condenser mic in a noisy location as they're very sensitive to everything around them, even distant noise.

      You need an amplifier such as the Scarlett 2i2, and then an XLR male to female lead to plug the mic into the amp, and then a lightning camera adapter (only £8 on Amazon) to connect the amp to your iPhone 😃

      It's impossible there has to be a rhythm guitarist recording playing in the background in order for lead to sound good unless it will sound bad. Check Jared dines video "rhythm vs lead"

      In my experience they usually are since clarity for counterpoint is important on classicals plus a softer attack. You can really go hard with a pick on a steel string and we’re usually plucking on classicals

    • @zerikaz55
      @zerikaz55 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      But also my classical costed like $2000 and my most expensive acoustic steel string was like $400 so I’m biased

    You actually sang something close to F minor in second inversion: C, F and Ab. You are correct about knowing theory and harmony, but ear training is, in my opinion, the most fundamental requirement in vocal harmony.

    It's more than just sound. Cheap guitars can be really nasty to play due to things like misaligned fretboards or bridges. They also struggle to hold a tune compared their more expensive counterparts, and fall apart much quicker due to the cheaper construction. If someone is on a budget and wants to learn a new instrument, then sure, get a starter guitar and it'll do you fine, but if you have any long term interest in playing guitar Walmart ain't your store.

  • @Moskal91
    @Moskal91 ปีที่แล้ว

    unless your guitar is fretless moving your finger up and down does nothing. No matter where you play in a single fret it will sound the same. Moving up and down is primarily done my Violins, Violas, Cellos, etc as they are all fretless. The actual 3rd way is the use a tremolo/whammy bar

    • @agtronic
      @agtronic ปีที่แล้ว

      Not quite, jazz guitarists use this technique, and it does cause a subtle vibrato because the angle of the string changes relative to the fret, depending where you are pressing. Search jazz vibrato.
