    That Phila. Textile team was led by HOF coach Herb Magee ( Naismith Class of 2011 ) they beat Tenn. State with future pro Lloyd Neal and Ted "Hounddog" McClain. Textile was so well coached - they might have beat UCLA

    Just watched this episode. Love the harmonies. Love the Monkees! Found this translation: The river keeps As God from the wolf keeps our lamb As God from the wolf keeps our lamb The rabid wolf wants to bite her But God the powerful knows to defend her He wanted to make her unable to sin Nor did original sin this virgin have He who is born is a great monarch Christ, our father, clothed in flesh We have redemption from this tiny creation Though infinite, finite he was made. Chorus: Mark well the rightness of what you have heard That God could not make her more a mother He that is her father is today of her born He of whom she is the child is called her son

    This sure brings back a lot of great memories when Connie Mack was torn down I cried I was 10 years, but the best memory was walking down the 1st base fowl line to the big door as I can still remember smelling the grass and looking towards home plate it was absolutely phenomenal. Great job Joe thanks for the trip down memory lane

    Not a good interview. Just bc his English is really great doesn’t mean he understand clichés. Annoying that she uses certain words

    • @autumninthewoods4522
      @autumninthewoods4522 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Of course her slang terms didn't help any, but his English was never "great", only fair to good. That's why this interview was a bomb. He was trying to be confident and playful to hide the language barrier. I also think he may have been on a substance here. He purposely messed up his chances at recording contracts in the US and UK because of his terrible insecurities and personal problems. He was obviously most comfortable in the German-speaking countries. I do wish the world had known his music longer and that he could've been a great success worldwide for years, regardless. He was too talented to be confined to only the German-speaking countries despite performing in a different language.

      @@autumninthewoods4522 Falco was indeed very talented. Sadly yes he was quite insecure and it would have been great for his music to be known further in the world. European UK artists always want to conquer America. The fact that he got here is amazing and I know he had to have been proud of that. How did he mess up bigger contracts with english dominant music companies? I don’t know if I ever knew specifically about those things 🤔

      @@fire12731 I never read his manager Horst Bork's book "Falco: The Truth" as it's only available in German, but he was alleged to have said that Falco purposely missed 3 appointments with Richard Branson, the owner of Virgin Records. With the first 2 he refused to go; the third time, his manager came to his home to get him and found him on drugs and in bed with a groupie. Branson then cancelled the contract, said to be a 3-album, $12 million deal. In the US, he would come into the studios to record and be drunk/high and ruined work; he also refused to collaborate with other artists and said American producers would not understand him or his vision. According to an English book I have, "Falco and Beyond: Neo-Nothing Post of All" by Ewa Mazierska, she stated that Falco refused to sign a US contract with A&M because the executive would not allow Falco to smoke in his home. He was also being pressured by his manager to live in the US, but he did not want to. I do wish he would've agreed to the record deals; he could've still done German-language albums along with the English-language albums. After all, Celine Dion and Gloria Estefan did albums in both English and in their own languages throughout the years and became worldwide successes, so he could have done the same. But his manager stated that he was held back primarily by his drug and alcohol problems, which, of course, affecting his reasoning skills. Every time I listen to any of his albums, I feel sad for the fact that he could've been so much more, but he sabotaged his own efforts.

      @@fire12731 His manager reportedly stated (either in interviews or his book, maybe both) that Falco deliberately missed two planes to meet UK record executive Richard Branson; when his manager came to his home to retrieve him a third time, he was indisposed with a strange woman and was high. So Branson nixed the deal altogether. It was to be a 3-album, $12 million contract. In the US, he would show up at recording studios under the influence of substances and refused to collaborate with other artists. He also refused to sign a contract with A&M because the executive wouldn't let him smoke inside his home. His manager wanted him to move to L.A., but he wouldn't. I do wish he'd at least accepted the record deals. He could've continued recording albums in German and also made some in English; Celine Dion and Gloria Estefan made both English albums and albums in their own languages and were worldwide successes for years. Whenever I listen to his music, I get a bit sad and nostalgic because I think about what he could've been, but he sabotaged his own chances for success.
