I Broke it! Mercedes om602 swapped land rover first test drive! prepping for Trans America trail!

I traded my 335d for my 99 24v cummins and dont yall worry the ole 24v is plenty spicy!! im pulling the OM602 due to "minor mishap" and will be putting the 606 in the Disco so yall stay tuned for some more diesel gang content!! How long does it usually take to start on freezing cold mornings? Does it take longer when it hasn't been used for several days?

Hey, could you guide me on wiring up the compushift? Im having trouble understanding how to wire up the reverse and starter inhibit. Id appreciate the help.

hey man, just discovered your channel. Hope your om606 swap is going well! What transmission/adapter have you used? Stock 4HP22 trans & transfer case?
Yea it's 4hp24 tho outta he late discos. I decided not to swap in the 606 and found a rear sump and oil pan for my 602. Should be done here shortly and will up load more videos.
The adapter is from the UK from Gazfab!!

@@darth_taterz i thought you had a rear sump on it already 🤔. My rover has been running for a while now but compushift has not been able to restock since last year and ive had to stop any more progress til i get the transmission sorted.

You need to wait a bit (20-30 sec) for the car to warm up before you try to start it because it can deal serious damage to the engine.

Do you have any info/build thread on specs like tire size/gearing/trans/how you made it work with the complicated disco 2 abs/traction control system?
Everything is stock other than tire size. but I'm running a compushift trans controller that gives me full control of the trans via Bluetooth app on my phone. Set your parameters for line pressure, tcc lock up, and what not.
@@darth_taterz how is your take off speed and hwy cruising speed? Similar to the 4.0 when trying to do 80mph up a hill?
I'm building a 99 D2 with the identical engine. 3 inch tf lift kit, 285/70 17 tires and plan to use compushift. Using a zf4hp24 trans with my 99 transfer case for a 12v diff lock. Was considering tru trac front diff upgrade and detroit locker rear diff as I'm not sure how the abs/traction control system likes the mechanical diesel.
@@dohcdelsol93 If u get the BCU switched over to manual from automatic the traction control system should only b looking for wheels slipping and high/low range to change what it does. Everything else is controlled by the compushift. But eventually will switch over to e-lockers or air lockers in front and rear and I will swap out the transfer case for a locking one.
@@dohcdelsol93 shit the disco never went 80mph with the gasser in it. But the shift points and Rev range of the shortstroke diesel match that of the gasser motor. Would lower gears help.....yes they would. Necessary? I'm not sure of that

The transkit and everything for the motor mounts all came from @gazfab hit em up tell him I sent you!!
