    • @tuesdaybingo
      @tuesdaybingo 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Peter! Thank you for writing in! I would love to include places in the videos, but try my best not to mention anywhere unless there was an overwhelming response for a specific place in our survey results. By focusing on food/drink products, we can take a deeper dive into a destination; local gastronomy, agriculture and mariculture gives us a lot of information to help better connect with where you land - at least that's just my opinion. In an effort to keep the videos here a timeless reference. I get worried about mentioning specific places. Restaurants change and I honestly can't recommend somewhere if I've never been there - maybe I just need to figure out a way to link to places that seem interesting? I think that leaving restaurant and bar suggestions to everyone's previous experiences is much for valuable to potential and future travelers and I highly recommend that anyone who's watching, leave those details in the comments for that reason. However, taking the information from this video, a good place to start might be to google search "best places in Aruba for pan bati." If you need/want help here, I can also do some research and comment on this thread!

    What no actual restaurants recommended? Simply try food¿

    • @tuesdaybingo
      @tuesdaybingo 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Bronxy! Thanks for writing in! I appreciate your patience on a response - its been a kooky couple months on my end. So yes! Unless a specific place is mentioned a good majority of the time, alongside the food item, or unanimously, I try to avoid suggesting or mentioning places. I decided to do this for a few reasons: I felt like the actual food/drink item and its relevance was more important to better connect with the destination. I am also trying to make these videos more timeless. By not mentioning specific places, I don't have to worry about anybody going out of business. I would also hate to recommend a restaurant or bar where someone has a bad experience. Especially if I've never been to a destination, It would also bother me to recommend a place that I've never been to. It might not suggest the tastiest place, or most "authentic" place to go. I still need to figure out how to unbiasedly do research to nail this from afar. The purpose of this channel is to learn about destinations, I've just been focusing on food/drink because the history there tells a lot. With all that being said, restaurants are a HUGE part of a successful visitor experience and tourism product for a destination. I encourage everyone to jot down places that they'd recommend in the comments just for this reason. Thank you for staying with me on this one, I know it was long winded. However, if you do know of any great places to experience Ocean City, I encourage you to share your experiences! Any travel plans in your future?

    Dang you instantly lost credibility with listing cannoli. there's like two places you can get cannoli in all of OCMD, that's a jersey thing! seriously there's like a HUNDRED places that serve pancakes, but you picked a cannoli. I'm not even bringing up taffy, because its too obvious.

      @tuesdaybingo 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey J, thanks for writing in! We definitely appreciate your input on pancakes and taffy too. Is there any place you would recommend going for those two items? Also, as far as the cannoli goes we appreciate that input too! Pancakes were close to making the top ten foods in the survey, but cannolis actually had four times the results of taffy! It’s interesting too, because salt water taffy was actually first made in Atlantic City, NJ, arguably making that even more Jersey than the cannoli! Go figure!

      @tuesdaybingo 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello guitarkis49! Thank you for writing in and for your kind words! It's been a slamming couple months on my end, so thank you for your patience on a response. Needhams are delicious and were so close to making the top 10 after all surveys conducted. When I was up in Maine, I remember picking a few up near Moosehead Lake. The combination of the coconut, potato, chocolate, views of water and the smell/feeling of the fall's crisp air was an experience I don't think I'll ever forget. Just did a little light research: It seems they really started to become popular in Maine later in the late 19th century and were first made by an Irishman who emigrated to America, George Carter Needham. There has to be some sort of connection here with the potato. Both northern Maine and Ireland have prime potato growing regions. Maybe the comfortability of using potatoes was a no brainer for him. Also, the Mounds Bars were first made in New Haven, CT in 1920 - not too far after the "late 19th century." I wonder if needhams were the inspiration here?

      Hello Steven! Thank you for writing in! YES! Needham's were mentioned a lot in our survey, didn't make the top ten, but are DEFINITELY a must-try in Maine! Thank you for sharing a place to go too. What is your favorite Maine food overall?

    The obwarzanek dough is first steamed, then baked. The bagels also come from Krakow. Krakow's Jews had been baking them since the 17th century. It was occasional bred. The bagels were given to a woman after a successful childbirth. Bagels were brought by immigrants to the USA at the end of the 19th century. The oldest dumplings come from China. Saint Jacek Odrowąż brought pierogi to Poland in the 12th century. He saw the recipe for dumplings in Ruthenia from the Tarars. Hence the traditional name Ruthenian pierogi (pierogi ruskie). Before the dumpling meal, the following prayer was said: "St. Jacek with dumplings, pray to God for us that these dumplings will be on the table all year round and protect us from hunger ”.

    I'm going very soon! I needed a mini vacation, so I'm just excited to leave my city and travel for the first time! Looking forward to a long train ride, looking out the window, enjoy the scenic route, meet witches, psychics, explore, just so much to do!
