A CAMBODIAN flavour REVELATION - DELICIOUS Natang RECIPE of charming 67-year-old Nimola (PART II)
Her delicious Cambodian dishes, prepared with the love of a grandmother, will make your mouth water. In this episode, you will get to know the truly impressive 67-year-old Nimola from the Cambodian capital Phnom Penh. In her cozy little corner restaurant called "Khmer Women Food", Nimola not only shares the secrets of Cambodian cuisine with us, but also her incredible life story. As a young woman, she had to live through the painful horrors of Pol Pot's reign, went on to chair one of the first women's rights movements in Cambodia, won the country's biggest literary awards for her poetry and radiates only one thing at every moment: Love and warmth!
As Nimola's life is so rich in stories and impressions, we have decided to show two films from her life. In this second part, you will learn more about the recipe for the delicious Cambodian dish Natang with us. We look forward to seeing you there!

It seems the dish is delicious. From the ingredients I see that it's very healthy because it contains many herbs and plants that are processed. Is it served with other dishes like meat, fish, or just with vegetables alone?"
Hello, the dish is really delicious and very complex in taste due to the many ingredients. The protagonists from our episode have eaten Pliek U with rice and dried small fish, which gives a little salty flavor and is very tasty. But there are also other variants, which differ slightly. I hope I could help you a little. Many greetings and continue to have fun with The Global Cookbook. Bastian

Thank you for your comment! Unfortunately I can't translate your comment cause I guess it's in Aceh. But I hope you enjoyed the Video! Bastian
Oh, I'm sorry, bro. I thought the owner of this channel was from Aceh. I just want to say that the dish is very delicious, and I'm curious about which village you filmed this in. However, I'm also very proud that a foreigner likes and enjoying our traditional cuisine and is willing to record and share the recipe with people outside. I really appreciate it
Thanks for your message and it was a pleasure to discover Banda Aceh!@@utinsyuryani6665
Remarkably delicious indeed! Pliek U has remained my favorite dish throughout the years. Despite having resided and worked in Jakarta for over two decades, whenever I return to my hometown in Aceh, Pliek U is invariably the first culinary delight I seek. While within our Jakarta community, we occasionally prepare the Pliek U broth, its true and authentic flavor is best savored in the village. I wish to extend my heartfelt appreciation to The Global Cookbook team for your efforts in introducing our ancestral culinary heritage to the wider world. It is my hope that individuals beyond our borders may also relish the exquisite taste of Pliek U. Furthermore, I am deeply thankful to my acquaintance Bastian for recommending this video to me. Your channel is undoubtedly deserving of millions of subscribers.
Dear Hery, thank you for your message. I am very happy that you like the film. And I can only confirm that Pliek U is incredibly delicious. It will just be almost impossible to replicate it at home in other countries :-). So whoever can, should definitely travel to Aceh. Not only because of the food, but also because of the people!
Finally it aired!!, hope you guys who watch this videos can feel the warm of our culture and motherland dishes!!❣️
Thanks David, also for your great work! It was a pleasure to work with you and I´m glad that you like the episode! See you soon and all the best! Bastian

The video is a little long yet thanks to its length, it was able to deliver a clear picture of a person's (Dung's) background, personality and culture. And the detailed step-by-step guidance on preparing this dish is truly very invaluable, I am myself a Vietnamese but did not know how to do a few steps because as for some ingredients, I just usually buy already prepared ones. Huge kudos to Bastian. Keep up the good work man!
Hey vngame123, thank you for your comment and I am very happy that you liked the long episode and the details of the cooking. I am looking forward to you following the Global Cookbook and being a part of it. Feel free to subscribe to the channel, it helps the project a lot. Many greetings, Bastian.
My 2 cents: The slow pace and the topic makes it really immersive and hat's great, especially for the first part. But I d say that the music feels a bit off sometimes in my opinion, almost like something dramatic was happening, while it's not really. It also feels like the music is pretty loud. Sometimes less is more, much less music would be great anyway. I appreciate the glimpse at the street vendors, the market and so on though. Cheers
Hey BO E, thanks for your detailed feedback on the episode. I'm always happy to get honest criticism, especially when a world is still very young, like the Global Cookbook. Of course, since I don't make my documentary´s only for me, but at best for many different people, I take your comment very seriously. When I edit an episode, I naturally try to convey my emotion and my memories of the people during the shoot. Of course also with music. That less is sometimes more, I agree with you. I'm curious how you feel about the other and future episodes. I am glad if you remain faithful to the Global Cookbook and let me know what you like and what not. Many greetings from Banda Aceh, Bastian.
@@theglobalcookbook It's only my humble personal opinion and I don't mean to speak for everyone but I am happy it can help somehow anyway. I will certainly watch the next episodes. Enjoy Indonesia

Such a lively documentary film about food and lives of the people who cook them. I love the way the story goes. I can recognize so true Dung, my friend and can feel her love for cooking. Thank you for the video
Dear Chi, what a beautiful message. I'm very happy about that and that's exactly what the films are about for me. That the human being with his very personal world is in the foreground and its recipe. If it then also meets the feeling, what you have to this person it is of course especially great! Thank you! I would be happy if you subscribe to my channel, that helps me to continue to shoot these films. Many greetings, Bastian.
It’s amazing. Wish to see the bowl ready to eat because it is really tasty and eye catching. Thanks Dung and Bas.
