Though there are lots of dances in the Garhwal areas, the Pandav Nritya is the most famous of them purely because the audience is able to understand the stories explained in the dance very well.
The Pandav Nritya is in existence for centuries in the villages of Uttarakhand. This dance is performed mostly during the festivals of Diwali and Dussehra because of the large number of people visiting the place. The local and the foreign population is equally exicted to relive the stories of the Mahabharata while watching the dance performers in the Pandav Nritya. The dancers are completely dedicated to the performance and a lot of focus is given to the facial expressions while performing this dance
