Hello! I have a question about your amazing video. Why is the arrow located on the right-hand side of the riser if you are shooting right-handed? Also, why do you twist the string when drawing? Thank you for the great video! I love the bow.

Could you please advise. I am having a issue with my Daylite Tartar Bow's limb vibration. What would be the best method to reduce the horrific limb vibration I am experiencing on my Tartar Bow? The limb vibration is so bad my left shoulder and upper arm is in agony after shooting for only 30 minutes or so. I love the bow but the vibration is becoming unbearable. I have also written the company but since you have much greater experience with this than probably their sales staff, please tell me what I might could do to reduce the limb vibration. Thanks. John

Imagine hundreds of these archers all shooting simultaneously on order like in a battlefield of medieval Korea.

As a Korean man, I truly commend you for appreciating and trying out the Korean archery styles. Just one note, Korean archers generally stand and face the target more squarely more like 45 degrees angle instead of side ways. This comes from the horse archer tradition where archer had to shoot while mounted on the horse back and they had to shoot forward (but also side ways and backwards). Obviously on horseback you can not stand side ways, you have to learn to shoot facing the target, so 45 degree turn worked better. Koreans, Mongols, and Turks were all famous horse archers. Korea is one of the few countries in the world where traditional archery has been practiced from generation to generation since the medieval ages to the present day without any break.

personally I have mastered and refined the use of the chuks without swinging by aiming directly toward the opponent with speed and power using two in each hand inwhich I believe cannot be blocked, versus swinging and I might add I always hit with the tip or edge of the stick.

What kind of Korean traditional archery is that? Barebow archery. Have you not even seen traditional Korean archery? How can we teach Korean traditional archery in a false way without even knowing how to shoot it? The book about Korean traditional archery is “Archery of Joseon,” published by the Joseon Archery Research Society in 1929. It remains intact in “resolution of affairs,” “sayegyeolhae” “jeongsalon” “sagyeol” “yegi saui” If you teach nonsense about traditional Korean archery without even reading the book, that's fraud. Instead of teaching stupid archery, just study. Korean traditional archery is always called Byeoljeol. What if the numchuck had the bottom of the handle filled with lead? Probably going to be better than a stick. Also more concealable than a stick unless you are talking about canes which I carried for years. Nobody cares. Anyway can we just all admit nun chucks are way cooler than a stick? Same with butterfly knives. Are they the best EDC ever? No but if you know how to flip them around they are way cooler....and cooler things are more likely to be carried and the best weapon is the one you have on you. Right?

3 months? You need to learn to make your own strings. It's not hard.

WHY? He is addressing English speaking pupils, what extra benefit to becoming proficient at archery is using some foreign language for the instructions? This is not teaching archery, its teaching cultural appreciation, the bow is just a prop. He could just as well use the art of making tea.

Seems that asiatic archery is limited to stumpy short people. If I try to draw to the ear like the horsebow archers, I have a 36" draw, but horsebows typically only go to a max of 30 to 32 inches. Only one bow I know of draws to 37 inches and that is made by AF archery of China. Its a nice bow, but now its hard to buy arrows, as all the affordable ones top out at 32 inch. I had to use extenders to add 4 inches to my arrows.

I have a theory that nunchaku were situational improvised weapons carried by local Okinawan and Japanese night patrols/guardsmen as noisemakers. Before streetlights, a local japanese night patrol would walk with a noisemaker and lantern so people would be drawn towards them and could safely commute back home. Even now people carry string wooden sticks to fireworks festivals to cheer and celebrate. Kabuki also used stringed sticks as noise instruments for their plays. It was probably a really obscure and situational improvised weapon and didn't even have a Okinawan kata like the other kobudo weapons. Kind of like how designing a kata and wielding a maglite flashlight or a brass handbell primarily as a weapon would seem really silly to us.

I own a pair of wooden octagonal nunchakus, from personal experience practicing with them the only time i ever hit myself is when I tried to be an idiot an do flashy shit. Even if someone does hit themselves in the hand or forearm with nunchucks it only stings for like a few minutes depending how hard you swing and exactly where, people need to stop being a bitch about it. I don't practice with them to perform movie tricks I practice for self defense, I don't claim nunchucks to be a weapon of mass destruction I personally use it as a personal defense flail. Sticks are predictable weapons, they can do some damage but you can telegraph where a stick is going to swing from, if you bum rush the person and are willing to take a hit, you can grab the stick and control the situation. A nunchuck is gonna be more difficult to grab because of its constant momentum and overall snappiness. Nunchucks may not do the kind of damage that Shad thinks the all mighty stick can but you really don't want somebody to hit you with a striking pair. Ask Houston Jones who volunteered himself to to test plastic and wooden nunchucks in his inner thighs. The video showed his one leg slightly bruised from the plastic nunchucks and the other leg from the wooden nunchucks severely bruised and almost bleeding, thank god he's smart enough not to test it on his skull lol.

You need to learn the traditional korean archery properly first before teaching peoples Your way of teaching people is like Mongolian or turkish archery

nunchaku is fast minimal damage not to kill damage but to confuse then make multiple pain to opponent complicated to newbies we hope not to fight for a differences of opinions in time of danger we must be aware of anything we can use to defend

Can it take FF string? Reinforced tip?

If your training swordsmanship for “practical fighting techniques” you probably have no idea that swords are used anymore in combat. We train to better ourselves as individuals both physically and mentally as well as cultural appreciation.

It's a weird bow to practice Korean archery with. First it doesn't have jumtong grip and also, it doesn't have siyah, let alone ktb styled thin siyah. It is also have a narrow arrow pass which is totally different from the normal ktb design

The nunchaku it is similar as a stick with the Difference of the speed that it hits the oponent. War nunchaku are very heavy and made out of solid steel bars. If you hit a concrete Block it breaks. as for the controle of the nunchaku you just Need to do Basic moves on a fight up and down strikes and backwards if the enemie trys to get near you.. for those who believe nunchaku are not effective let me hit you on the face so you can spread real rumors about it in TH-cam about your experience. You cant want to have Control Over a weapon if you got no train with it the same goes for a stick if you got no traine with it. Because with both there is ways to strike.

Korean bows have lower brace height so the string is more likely to hit your arm. Korean style is you grip the bow with the string 30-45 degrees away from your arm. Pulling the string straight back creates the needed torque so the arrow clears the bow on release and no string slap on the arm. Other khatra styles also work...

The thick foam handle is not more expensive, just not as popular. So the cheaper bows that is for mass market will tend to have handles closer to what other archers are used to...

You can get 60lb in all the sizes. There is also a heavy weight version up to 100 lbs for twenty dollars more...
