Common Thread Church

We're an emerging spiritual community in Raleigh, NC. We believe the Divine indwells each of us, and we try to help one another awaken to this compelling Presence.
IF YOU ARE HERE, YOU BELONG
Like many, we found organized religion empty. But we’d also experienced its power to transform us. So, rather than abandon it, we began to rethink, strip down, and rebuild it. We’ve become deeply grounded in the universal essence we found-the thread of Divine Life common to all of us.

That was wonderful! I was there in spirit today. Live streaming

😕Unfortunate that the video kept skipping forward. Couldn’t really follow everything he was teaching but I tried to get the gist of it…
Beautiful service! Thank you!
Thank you for this amazing ministry. My husband and I have read Doug’s book and as we’ve been deconstructing we have watched many services and joined the online community a time or two.(it’s hard with the time difference) We believe very much in the platform you all have been creating. We can find nothing like it here in Southern California (🙁) where we are currently caring for my parents. Every time I listen to a video I want to pack up and move to Raleigh!! I truly hope that this is the future that the dying churches will adopt as our ever changing world shifts. Right now we are going to a science of mind spiritual center just to try to get out in the community and build relationships and be in an environment where we can worship, ask questions, seek and not feel judged. Looking forward to seeing where the indwelling divine takes you all next!❤
Not in any way to discourage you from moving to Raleigh and joining the Common Thread community, but you may be interested in checking out a local United Church of Christ or United Methodist Church in your area.
I love Common Thread Church

Great message. Had a chuckle about the snow - still 2ft in back yard here in Ottawa. One minor technical comment: the audio from music components is distorted - over modulated. It might be in your PA to internet feed or it could be a setting in You Tube which is not optimised for music.
where is the link to "What are you thinking"?

I can’t believe you said your theology about where God resides doesn’t matter! You’re going to get in trouble with your denomination!
You are preaching hate....
Jesus is a fictional character.

Apostasy.
One of the worst Easter Sunday sermons I've ever heard. Doctrine, surprise, encounters...way to not even mention the resurrection of the Lord almighty. Stunningly off target. Glad there are so few people there to listen to this garbage.
The worse "Easter Sermon" ever! Easter, (Resurrection Sunday) is about the death, burial and resurrection of JESUS CHRIST! NOT YOUR CIRCLE OR YOU! Are you Christian? Your theology of works based, experiential self righteousness shows you're not.
Would you explain what those 14 or 15 lines of doctrine that you are putting down. You never told us what they are
No, you're not Christian. Why pretend you are anyway?
Don’t forget fat stigma in our society. Wonderful talk! Appreciate you and grateful to have found this on utube!
I found my spiritual home! So grateful! Brilliant
around 25 yrs ago, I attended a retreat led by Ernest Gordon, author of “Miracle on the River Kwai,” about the good thing that happened in that prison camp. Much of it echoes your msg today, but without the current language. Great series of lessons. Keep them coming!
(this is Doug). thanks, David.
Welcome to TH-cam. Tracking your move to split meditation from Sun service. Will be interested in your observations as it unfolds.
