Trolling Lake Erie tributaries for Steelhead!
On this trip we're heading down the river in search of the hard fighting steelhead trout! Come along as we put some nice fish in the boat using small crankbaits and planer boards.
My Son and I had a blast! We caught a ton of fish this day, it was actually hard to pick and choose what footage to use. This video could have easily been and hour long or more of us reeling in fish. But as fun as that is, it would have made for a repetitive video.

In this particular case it was like this the whole day. The day after was nice too. But you're 100 percent correct!
Grew up on Mosquito Lake, in Trumbull County, about 45 minutes south of Erie. A lot of hours on Devils Lake in North Dakota, boats and ice houses. Live in a desert now and haven't fished in over 10 years. I miss fishing for walleye and that's about it. But moments like this, are missed much more.

No, I'm just pulling and winding by hand. I don't recommend using a drill. It's too easy to get in a hurry. Too many RPMS and you'll smoke your gears in the reel. Don't ask me how I know😂

This time of year, I wouldn't fish without minnows. Once the water temps come up, I don't use minnows at all.

Yes, you are correct. It's pretty common though for people local to the are to not realize how spoiled we are! To be honest, I knew Erie was good, but I had no idea how good we have it until I started guiding.
