During the pandemic I headed to the desert in California to escape the hustle and bustle. My goal was to test a couple spots I located on my old 1800s maps. I drove around and explored most of the day. Didn't find much till I was about to head home. Check out what I found!
Metal Detecting Nevada | "The Widow Maker" Ghost Town of Delamar
มุมมอง 9K4 ปีที่แล้ว
In this video I travel 2 hours North from Las Vegas to Metal Detect the Ghost Town of Delamar. In the late 1800's 2,500 people called this mining valley their temporary home but little did they know that it would become their final resting place for hundreds of them. This mine claimed so many lives that the town was named the widow maker. There was said to be 400 widows in this town at one time...

150 miles north of Las Vegas, in the mountains outside of Area 51 there is a ghost town that was alive in the mid 1800's. The town accompanied 500 people between 1865-1869 (Civil War era). I went there in search of treasures and relics that were left behind and thats just what I found. Enjoy!

Awesome coin.
Detecting for coins or relics? If you want coins and tokens don't dig the worbly sounds. Atleast that's what I have found.
Also the one button looked like it might be the lower casing for a 12 gauge round! The old ones that had paper all the way down to the base.
That rear bracket set-up is the most janky mess. It literally convinced me not to but this rack… All they had to do is bolt directly to the frame.
Fun hunt. You never know what you might find...at least you found that watch! Pretty cool. Subbed ya.
Come to Sacramento CA. Let's go and u can teach me how to use my new detector
What brand of drone do you use? 3:22 3:27
Phantom 4 in this video
This is easily my favorite 3 days of the year. I love this trip.
I don't know if you have ever watched Wonder Hussy, but she loves the desert. She likes going to old ghost towns. Check her out. If I was younger I would go to some of the places she goes to. Some are closer than you would think.
You talk to much more detecting
America aka Babylon Esau Edom aka white man is the devil the bible speaks of genocide, slavery, terrorism, land theft. Obadiah 1:18 says ectinction and numbers 35:33 true justice. I didnt do it Isaiah 14:21 Halalawya!
Great video, thanks! Can you take the Freedom Panels off under the metal mesh panel at the front?
You have to remove the mesh insert (4 bolts) to get the panels out. Not a big deal. I do it all the time
This video had me blinking from falling debris lol 💨🏜️👀
I found an 1882 penny on top of the ground I want to get my own metal detector and find more
I watched your Delamar video before heading there today. I didn't find too much. Tomorrow we are heading to Logan City. Nice finds you discovered there. If I am in this area again I will reach out on case you a detecting partner. Leslie
I know you don't post anymore but, I'll be in Vegas for all of march 2024 if your interested in a sidekick. I do metal detect let me know.
I found a marble there today
Is not good on heavy off-roading, mine is shaking feel like falling off 😅
Mine does slightly when I have a lot of gear up there but I’ve off-roaded hard with it for over two years with no issues.
Boy these would’ve been a really good video if we didn’t have to watch you walk where you could of drove and if you moved the detector as much as your mouth
thats private property, patented mining claims
Nope. They are rights to minerals not the land.
You’re Wrong .most of Delemar is patented land . Some Unpatented but mostly private patented land . Look at a land status map.

Hi
At Cold Creek yesterday and there was a large herd of about 12 Elk near the town.
Just found your channel, nice video. I live in California not sure what ghost town you were looking for. I don’t think you were in the right area as you said because she would see some wood. Maybe some pottery maybe some cans. I am currently in the Philippines, but coming back to California in March or April. If you’d like to meet up there at the chimney I would really like to do that.
I'm diggin the intro music, how the drums make the speakers almost sound blown. The riff is cool too.
hello from NW Illinois
How long did it take you to install it?
About 3 hours. It came packaged very well. An hour of that was just getting it unpackaged and making sure everything was there. I currently have a large Roofnest tent on it and it has held up great off-roading going on 2 years. No complaints.
Great video, highly educational, thank you!
Great video, loved the attention to details!
So awesome! Happy for you…
The “clay lids” are actually core samples. The big brown thing is part of the smelter.
TOO BORING. YOU TALK TO MUCH.
The Paiute people say:"the white man come.Made a lot of noise Then go away." Pretty much sums it up... PS... I used to live in the little town of Beatty...Long time ago... The area was filled with ghost towns like Rhyolite...Had to be careful when you're walking around that area because of the several deep vertical pits the miners left... No warning or fencing around those deep holes....☠️
Do you need a detecting permit? If yes, where do you get one?
Permits would only be need for specific areas that require them. Check at the local city hall. Most places are owned by someone. In most cases you just need permission from the land owner.
Hey bud! I’ve found two whole Chinese coins at DeLamar. I would be happy to give you one.
That’s awesome! Did you find them metal detecting or were they surface finds?
What town is that ?
Homie your jeep is 🔥 bruh
Great finds enjoyed the video
Great finds enjoyed the video
Epic finds great hunt I enjoyed it
One summer day fifty years ago my friend and I drove up here in a 1972 Ford Pinto Hatchback expecting to find a pristine, abandoned ghost town. It took us half a day to get here, as it was way high up in the mountains from Vegas. We only saw one car, a junk 1961 Rambler abandoned alongside the road between Highway 93 at Hiko and Logan City. The only way we knew about Logan City was we found it on an old 1932 gas station map. It didn't exist on more recent maps we looked at, so we figured if it's still here, it must be one hella ghost town nobody today knows about. But all we found were three locked up buildings. At 6,100 feet, it must have been someone's summer retreat. No signs, roads, trash, junk, relics, cars, parts, dump sites, nothing. We camped the night and headed back down the next morning, filled with disappointment. Now, half a century later, we see what the ravages of time and intruders have wrought.
I like the drone footage and music. It also would be helpful to say what month of the year it is what the weather is like when the best time to go there is what routes get you there. Maybe GPS.
Great show I like the way you talk through things I like the areas you go to I cannot understand it when people don't do metal detecting like those rockers mud lockers in England where they have a chance to find really old stuff but they don't meddle detect. Your show is great the way you do storytelling
I'm glad you're intro is short a lot of people that do metal detecting things that wild crazy music will make them seem technical or jazzy but a lot of people watch metal detecting before they go to bed so if they're trying to watch your channel they can't watch it because the introduction to every video will wake them up. Just a thought look at like Green mountain metal detecting and the ones with the loud music don't get very many hits.

Why the music? Does it add to the point of the video?
What a fun way to spend your Christmas break!
The desert sounds like dry digging but what a neat location! It would be interesting to scope it out by drone to find foundations or possibly a dump area. I’m curious- How did you get that permission or is it state owned?
