I remember seeing the video for Push Eject way back when MTV had their "Buzz Bin". I had never heard anything like it, even with all the other electronic bands around at the time, and I was hooked. What was really amazing about Kawashima was that his first cancer diagnosis came in the 90s. So it wasn't a career cut short by illness - his entire musical career happened *despite* his condition.

It was sometime around 2020 when I was introduced to this band because of my growing love of the Ridge Racer games. Fogbound was the first BBS song I ever listened to because it was on the soundtrack of Ridge Racer V (along with the Dice vocal mix of On the Painted Desert). I loved it so freaking much; the sporadic drums, the chaotic synth, it all added up to one heck of a listening experience! For some time afterwards, I kind of fell off with their other work because I had no music streaming services. But just last year (2022) I got a Spotify account and have been listening to BBS ever since. Heck, Shut Up and Explode was the very first song I added to my liked songs playlist! Ever since then, Boom Boom Satellites have become my favorite music group period, and if it weren't for them, my musical taste would be very different. So I thank Namco for introducing me to this wonderful band, I thank Nakano & Kawashima for producing some of the best music I have ever heard in my life through thick and thin, and I thank you for helping spread word to those unaware of these musical geniuses. Also, what would you say are your favorite BBS songs? Hard question, I know. Edit: HOLY CRAP WHY DIDN'T I NOTICE EARLIER?! Pierre Nakano & Ling tosite sigure being mentioned in this vid is ironic considering that Masayuki Nakano would go on to collab with T.K. from LTS after BBS disbanded. He even made an entire album comprising of all the remixed openings he did for the soundtrack of Psycho-Pass: Sinners of the System, which features some music from LTS like abnormalize!

Been a fan since 2015, really glad Nakano is working with The Novembers lead singer Kobayashi in The Spellbound
