How To Clean Car Leather Seats | Quick , Easy, Cheap & It ACTUALLY WORKS | Range Rover Seat Cleaning
One of my least favourite jobs is cleaning cars leather seats.
With 2 Range Rovers stuffed full of leather to take care of it’s usually a big long mind numbingly laborious job that I usually put off and when I do muster up enough motivation to start it takes so long that I get bored, fed up and eventually give up.
Every year I look for a leather cleaning product that ticks all my boxes.
It needs to be cheap, easy to use and actually works.
Each year I am left disappointed as the leather cleaning product I chose fails on one or all of these.
It’s now time to face my arch nemesis again but this time I’m armed with a new car leather cleaner weapon to try.
Dodo Juice - Supernatural leather cleaner.
Is this THE one?
Please feel free to join me as I embark on a new leather cleaning quest and try to find a quick and effective way to clean my Range Rover Leather interior.

    I use Bardhall 5 in 1 for diesel , every 10.000 km it's work well , sorry for my bad english ; the quality of diesel is very important ; i use total excellium diesel or shell v power diesel. And when I have a range rover sport I plan to use these fuels and additives and making all services myself.

    Great fix and what a saving, to me its a no brainer just to do a service on the compressor its like any compressor it will need a service. For the milage it's done and on UK roads over the seasons of rain and salt I dont think its done bad at all, and the price of doing the work yourself for ( to me looked like an easy job ) was pretty cheap esp for the comfy ride it gives you , dont understand people that buy these cant be bothered to do a search on people like yourself to then change it to a coil spring.

    Hi, i have the 2008 L322 . The suspension constantly goes up and down, Reading suspension fault drive below 50kph. Recently enough i had the compressor and 2 air shocks replaced. It stays up over night so i don't suspect a leak. Do you know of any sensor/sensors i could replace? My mechanic is sick of the sight of me🤦

      I would start with the ride height sensors as being the prime suspect. If you had the air shocks replaced it should have been calibrated as well so may be worth checking it was. But I would defo start with the ride hide sensors which may have failed or simply been knocked. Good duck 👍

    Couple of tips : 1 st when wet sanding you ant to finish with 800 grit no higher The reason is you need something for the clear coat to grab on to If you use or finish with a higher grit the clear coat can easily begin to chip away Within a year or so Especially on the top of the headlight 2K Spray Max Glamour is the right choice First coat is a light dusting Your overlap should be about 90% This will help prevent Orange Peel Second coat should be a wet or heavier coat Go slower across the headlight when spraying with a 50% overlap Same for the third coat if you feel it’s necessary It should last for years and years this way Also Orange Peel is common due to technique but also the climate in which you are spraying As for wet sanding the orange peel I would give the paint a month to completely dry After 48 hours the top is of course dry but what is underneath is not It takes time for the paint to “ Gas Out “ Same as the paint that you put on your walls Top is dry after a day but what is underneath is still wet and needs to to gas out Nice Job !

    • @car-repairs-diy-at-home
      @car-repairs-diy-at-home ปีที่แล้ว

      @sirkendrick11 It’s difficult to diagnose your issue from your description but I’m guessing your air suspension switch in the centre console is completely inactive and not showing any illuminated lights at all. It could be a number of things but check the fuses first of all but you really need to plug in a diagnostics reader and get some codes to find out what may be wrong. I’m assuming you have no error messages on the dash saying things like ‘’Suspension inactive’’ or ‘’Vehicle raising slowly’’ You could be lucky and its a fuse or you need to do a hard reset as the ECU isn’t happy and this may work but it really could be any number of things and without a diagnostics kit and codes you could be chasing it down forever. Good luck 🤞

    Discovered your channel yesterday and am busy binge watching your ouput. I bought an L322 TDV8 3.6 last November and although it came with 'Issues' I am loving it. O/S Air strut first thing to go £500, a bit of sub-frame welding for the MOT £180, new brake pads all round and wear sensor £ 150, new reversing camera £100, new gps antennae £140, new Sat Nav DVD player £70 and a Venture cam £30. It's a 2006 model so I'm prepared for more. Found your Engine light fix usefull as mine has started coming on but not every time I start up so I'm hoping the diesel treatment fix will work. I actually laughed out loud watching your seat cleaning adventure, that's next on my list.

      @nigelpickett2471. Thank you Nigel, it sounds like you hit a rich vein of problems to resolve with your Rangie, it does get better, contrary to popular belief if you can keep on top of their demands you can go extended periods without issue. I've had no problems on either of mine for a couple of months now, I hope I haven’t jinxed myself 😃 Anyway that's why I am finding myself cleaning stuff at the moment. I may do a Range Rover engine and engine bay cleaning video next, with a power washer! and despite me doing that for years without problem it’s sure to cause some major anxiety, distress and upset with the cleaning fraternity who I am sure will arrive mob handed to tell me the engine will die/explode etc etc so it may be worth watching that one when its done just for the pure entertainment value 😊 take care 👍

    Very nice video with a great demo of the correct techniques! I loved the music, too. Q: Do you anticipate or have heard any issues with thermal expansion on the hard coating? Is there perhaps some value in getting a great shine through sand/polish and then just applying a quality UV coat/cure product?

    • @car-repairs-diy-at-home
      @car-repairs-diy-at-home ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you very much @picknswing 🙏 I did when I first tried out this technique consider the potential impact of the different thermal expansion coefficients of the materials. On balance I decided to go ahead with it on Range Rover headlights and see what I experienced first hand . I can say that a couple of years later I didn’t experience any issues but I do only use the Spraymax 2K brand of clearcoat on the basis it didn’t cause me any issues so I stuck with it 😊 You can as you suggest also get the best shine you can with sanding and polishing and use a uv coat product but I don't personally have any experience of that method.

    • @car-repairs-diy-at-home
      @car-repairs-diy-at-home ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi @vinceremedy , thanks for the comment. I’ve owned many Rangies over the years, including the P38 4.6L V8, L322 2002-2006 with the 3.0l TDV6 and even tried the L405 when it first arrived which I hated and which gave the most problems of any RR I’ve ever owned and it was so bad I vowed never to own one again. For me personally I’m a huge fan of the L322 2006-2012 with the 3.6 TDV8. The engine is solid and hard (but not impossible) to break. Like any RR they have problems and it's usually expensive to fix but if you are hands on and willing to tackle most jobs then they are viable. Conversely if you are going to have to rely on a garage or worse still a dealer then they are going to cost a fortune (likely more than the car is worth) to keep on the road and if its the latter I would advise not to get one! If you can find one that has been looked after and not run into the ground with no money spent on them then perfect otherwise you will hit a lot of expensive issues very quickly. The L322’s do suffer with rust under the sills at the rear so of there are any signs of rust when you open the rear doors or any rust on the rear quarter panel wheel arches then it will likely be rotten underneath the plastic sill covers. They can be repaired if not too far gone but you will need to get them welded. The upper tailgates are the other area which rust and thats a DIY job that can be done too. I’ve done both of those repairs myself. Sorry for such a long answer but hope it gives you food for thought!

    @StreetMotionUK ปีที่แล้ว

    My 06 TD6 has been giving intermittent 'Normal Height Only' and 'Lifting Slowly' warnings since I bought it. Recently it started to sink on one side when parked for a few hours. Did a bit of investigating and found a pin hole leak in one of the blue pipes going from the compressor to the valve under the rear o/s rear arch. The pipe had been rubbing against the hose clip of the fuel supply line to the fuel burning heater fuel pump. Hoping that pipe will be cheap and easy to source, otherwise I might consider replacing the original compression fittings with standard pneumatic push fittings and off the shelf reel of nylon tube.

    • @car-repairs-diy-at-home
      @car-repairs-diy-at-home ปีที่แล้ว

      @StreetMotionUK nice bit of investigation! Off the shelf pneumatic pipe will do the job no problem and if the section of the pipe with the pinhole is easily accessible you could also consider chopping that small section out and repairing with a pneumatic pipe repair kit. Good luck!

    Can you clearcoat a brand new headlight to prevent the fade? No wet sanding.

    • @car-repairs-diy-at-home
      @car-repairs-diy-at-home ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi @MegaHowtoMan , new headlights will already have a clear coat and UV inhibitor applied to them. It’s this coating that eventually breaks down and allows the acrylic lens to be further contaminated giving the dull hazy headlights.. It’s our restoration process in this video that is removing the contamination and opaqueness that is the result of the factory applied clear coat failing. So new headlights do not need clear coating as they should already have it. Restoring your old headlights is just a far cheaper option than replacing with new headlights.

    This is a re upload edited version of a much longer video I made on restoring these Freelander headlights as I confess I may have gotten a little carried away with the last one and it ended up being over 1 hour long! I realise that was too long for viewers to sit through and watch so I took a hatchet to it and chopped a good 42+ minutes out to make this version. I’m flying blind with this video making malarky and the learning curve is steep so if you could spare some time to provide any feedback in the comments it would be very helpful to me. I just want to get better at making content that people will enjoy watching and find useful. Thank you Kendric

    thank you kendric. during the hour+ video i imagined what watching paint dry might look like. however, your patience (and mine) was rewarded with the great result. do you have any thoughts about using an electric buffer for some or all of the sanding procedure?

    • @car-repairs-diy-at-home
      @car-repairs-diy-at-home ปีที่แล้ว

      @dr.tophbocchiaro5118 It is a bit long isn’t it 😃 maybe I should have edited about 99% of the video out 😊 Oh well you live and learn. I’m painting in my next video so you can actually experience watching paint dry in that one 😆 Anyway...It doesn’t take long by hand so using electric one wont save an awful lot of time but I would definitely take the headlight out if you are going to use one and it is suitable for wet sanding. An electric buffer / polisher for the final stages would be useful.

    • @car-repairs-diy-at-home
      @car-repairs-diy-at-home ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you @markburton4681 👍 If there is definitely no leaks from the air spring itself and the valve block solenoids are serviced and working then I agree I would be looking for an airline / connector leak and spraying every connector with soapy water to see if I can track it down starting with the line to the recently installed air spring. If you have access to a calibration tool I would also check suspension heights and recalibrate the suspension after replacing air spring. As you don't have any fault codes it does sound like you have an airline leak somewhere. Good luck 🤞

    • @car-repairs-diy-at-home

      @Schnippen_Schnappen1 The compressor was indeed a large part of the issue but not the whole story, but servicing it helped me then identify the next issue and without having a good compressor I couldn't move on. There are another 3 parts to this series with the final part showing the final result - spoiler - I did fix the suspension fault and saved a decent amount of cash in the process 👍

    Well done you I would love one of these but scared to death of costs as I could on afford an older one anyway.

      @tunnel7 Thank you 👍 They are fantastic cars and I’m a huge fan but they can require either a pot of cash put aside to keep them going or as I have chosen to get stuck in and fix as many of the problems as I can 🙂
