Hi Brian Great advice, I’m keen to join BNI but I’m a little reluctant as my business is only a year old. I don’t know if I would be able to contribute enough in terms of referrals for other members straight away. I was hoping to get your thoughts on this, maybe I should wait a year or so before joining?

I think most people would benefit from their referral meetings moving closer toward this level of productivity. I recently gave my instagram follower list to a friend to see if any contacts on their were potential customers. This method will lead to more productive referrals and more effective use of time.

If they have sent a message with their request, then you can always start a conversation to ask them along to 'meet' you virtually before connecting.

Desperation at its very very finest. Cold calling is one of the things as a seasoned BNI member (8 years - but I shall not be renewing) we have always been told not to do, that the whole point of joining a referral organisation to specifically avoid cold calling. It’s amazing what lengths BNI head office will go to to try and make it appear that they actually care doing something to help the members who’s businesses have been forced to close. Yet they won’t suspend the members subscriptions. Greedy selfish organisation you should be ashamed of yourselves.

Back in 2010, as a director in BNI Miami (Florida, United States), I had the pleasure of attending my second Director's Conference and watched, what I considered to be a fantastic work of art (as well as a rather catchy tune.) Since then I have had great success in my businesses (in part or whole thanks to BNI) and have since retired at 53 and am already planning a move to my final homestead. I enjoy woodworking and share that love with my fellow TH-camrs. I had to take a moment, as I ran across this video which brought a flood of wonderful memories. Thank You for the production.
