Komm vorbei, ist echt schön wenn das Wetter passt. Wir leben in den Yorkshire Dales. Der Hügel heißt ‚Wether Fell‘ und ist bei Hawes. Ein beliebter XC Ausgangspunkt

Das ist sicher richtig, und danke für den Hinweis. Wenn wir den Film gestellt hätten, hätten wir die Szenen wieder und wieder gefilmt bis alles richtig ‚im Kasten‘ ist. Dass hätte dann aber dazu geführt dass die Darsteller dann nur so tun als ob sie gerade einen Schirm zum ersten Mal aufziehen oder einen Schüler einweisen und so weiter. Unser Ziel war aber den wirklichen Werdegang vom Fußgänger zum (Anfänger-) Piloten einzufangen. Daher sieht man da auch kleine Patzer und Fehler und Dinge die man im Nachhinein nicht so hätte machen sollen. Dazu gehört die von dir erwähnte Szene aber auch das Groundhandling ohne Helm, erster Höhenflug Versuch beim vollen Buchenberg bei schlechtem Wind mit Kammerateam am Tandem dahinter für extra Stress und so weiter. Dafür haben wir jetzt aber etwas was festgeheftete was wirklich passiert ist. Im wirklichen Leben passieren halt auch Fehler. Vielleicht hätte man das mehr kommunizieren sollen. Ich hätte damals aber auch nicht mit so vielen views gerechnet. Ist schon erstaunlich… Liebe Grüße, frohes neues und Happy Landings! Ich hoffe man sieht sich mal am Berg.

@@skate2hell mein kommentar war eher humorvoll als wirkliche meckerei gemeint. und vielleicht als sinvolle ergänzung. alles gut, ist auch so schön geworden der film :)

@@Mainboarder1 es kam auch nicht als ‚meckern‘ rüber. Solche Anmerkungen sind wichtig. Ich schreib auch öfter mal was bei TH-cam zu Gleitschirmvideos ;)

It’s near kåseberga, south Sweden. It’s a beautiful soaring spot in summer

I have not measured it but it’s definitely very competitive. Accelerated it leaves any low EN B glider behind. It’s so efficient on bar!

It’s so good! When things get rough this wing gets going. The extra speed is great and the stability on bar gives you a lot of confidence. Take off behaviour makes this process a piece of cake and the handling is really good for a wing of this class. Fabi, Theo and Toni did a great job here. The overall performance is very good. I was very impressed how it flew through this years x-alps, I guess the pilot was the more important factor here ;) where do you live? I can let you try mine if you are in the UK

Hi, Thanx for offering your glider but I live far away. I am based in Schladming in Austria. Great for Pg but better for skiing. 😊 Check my videos out here and my old pg channel / airgabor76 / Tom Ceunen pg pilot is a big Xenon lover. Search on his name here on youtube. I used to live in Guildford and glew with Steve Purdie at Airworks. I am from Hungary. We are so proud of Pal Takats.😊

Das ist aber mal ein netter Kommentar. Tatsächlich konnte Dr Jaspersen ;) wegen der Babys nur einmal fliegen in den letzten drei Jahren aber wir fahren nächste Woche zum soaring Urlaub und freuen uns schon. :)

Hello Sergio. You are right. But there are three things you can’t see in the video: 1. brakes were super long so it looks like more brake input. I have shortened them since. A lot! 2. The xenon is not very picky when it comes to break input when accelerating 3. The title is total click bait. I am flying since 1994. Sure, I love the en b class, but I have flown many different gliders including comp, acro, mini and uncertified wings. I am not the world greatest pilot but there is lots of experience there. Still, I appreciate your concern and as a general rule you don’t use the brakes when accelerating. It simply does not make sense

I was annoyed about the bad sound on pg videos so I thought about making it better. I took a little zoom recorder with me and connected a lavalier microphone to it. The microphone has a little dead cat on (or should I say dead mouse, cause it’s so small) to protect it from wind sound. I also have it inside the helmet or wear it inside my sleeve. It’s a Rode mic and the zoom H1N recorder, but anything will work I guess.

Brakes are quite long on this glider and I only give it a little break input on the left before I switch to the rear risers. Absolutely no issue there. But thank you for commenting.

@@skate2hell does depend on the glider of course. I don't know the xenon, but a Zeno for example could collapse.

If you fly accelerated you should not use the breaks to control the pitch movement (active flying) you would make collapses more likely. I only use one break to correct my flight path a little bit in benign soaring conditions. It is unlikely that this will cause any wing to collapse and certainly not the Xenon.

@@skate2hell in my experience, even an EN-C glider like the Alpina 4 can collapse if you touch the brakes while flying accelerated. It certainly is a good idea to be aware of this behaviour of paragliders, as (especially in turbulent air) our wings can react in a fairly unpredictable manner. Zenos and Enzos certainly collapse if you touch the brakes on bar… happy landings and stay safe. :D

@@nicolas-paragliding that’s a very good point to remember. Only because one glider tolerates some break input while flying accelerated, it does not mean that others do. The Xenon is very tolerant in that regard but I have flown gliders in the past that did not like accelerated break input at all. Thank you for pointing that out

I think it stalls quite well. I am not sure about inducing a frontal though. During the certification test flights they use folding lines to produce the collapses. If you use the A-Riser, the results would be quite interesting indeed. I will ask Nova to give me a proto with the attachment loops for the folding lines and make my next video a SIV with the Xenon!
