The vibe? I just love Jesse's music. And I'm astounded that he held an audience as well with his little Takamine guitar as, earlier in his career, with a five piece band. Saw him in both phases and always dug the Memphis/Montreal soul.

Hey Now...Denise C was a dear friend of mine...it was so cool being able to see her and hear her awesome tone again...Barry absolutely was one of the finest unsung guit & steel players I have ever encountered in a nightclub setting...and Kate's voice and harmonies would literally melt me...Denise was a surprise bday present to me on my 30th from a mutual friend of ours BITD!...Kirk and MJ brought her to play fiddle for me as their present...we jammed the night away at the foot of the bald hills on the Conowago River/Creek in Pennsyltucky for 100 of my best friends...I will never forget that night and many nights to follow...What a great fiddlin' "crazycool" lady she was...Thank you so much for posting this vid...You brightened up my Thanksgiving as I just officially retired from working full time music on 8-30-24...I wish she was still with us, but I'm sure her and I will meet again up yonder...Happy Trails, Raƶar🎻🙏💙

Evan joined my band, The Cold Steel Benders, and moved into my house when he was 18. We opened up for Danny at the UM Glass Onion auditorium and Danny asked him to join his band. He said yes and I don't blame him a bit. He was a great songwriter and a great guy. RIP. Our pedal steel player in that band was Bucky Baxter also deceased. RIP And the Dootz just passed away. I am full of good news eh? There is a record of the Dootz out there, a a 45 on Sky Records. If Sonny Huckle is out there , call me! Tommy G

Holy Jesus Chicken-Pluckin' Christ! How'd I miss this? This is truly the Grail (or at least part of it). Mark - Thanks for upload - many, many thanks. God bless the late Josh Brooks and Joe Lee (my cuz) for putting it all out on the line and getting Slim and them boys from Florida signed. Josh had that Bard connection with Becker and Fagen and jammed that demo in Gary Katzs' ear! That was a great 'no frills' version of "Mood Ring"! The Bowling Alley and Bus Driver tunes were primo Slim...I recognized Slim riffing "House Rent Blues" on the Bowling Alley opus. My first Slim show was at the Cellar Door maybe early 1978 (I was barely 18 or 19) and Slim puked and ruined their stage carpet. He came out with a dirty toilet brush in one hand and a plunger in the other growling "Mood Ring". I'll never fu*king forget that...Joe Lee gave me plenty of cool recordings early on but not this stuff you have here. See my "Bus Station Blues", "Fruit Picker Saturday Night" and so on, TH-cam entries for years ago. I wanted to say my first PsycheDelly show was Slim, but it was The CRAMPS!!! The PsycheDelly is missed by so many. I have some vintage early 80s cassette recordings of Josh's Jump Party from the PsycheDelly with Root Boy Slim as guest host. Those need to be digitized. Those 'Delly ads I have here on TH-cam with Slim are from my WHFS tape archive as well. Thanks Mark! I'll be back real soon to listen to all this again.
