I Redesigned his Website

Lex Fridman have an amazing TH-cam channel. And the website he currently has doesn't do any justice to his brand. So I built him a new one by just using some good old HTML and CSS. Check it out: www.iamsajid.com/lex/
console errors hits the hardest.
Which is a free or cheap website to design webpages?
Figma
Without designers, the websites would be like 90s design with marquee text, gif animations, and a bunch of flash videos. Btw, I consider Airbnb and Stripe as a very clean and beautiful website.
Yeah they are.
Bro nailed teaching me things I had no idea I didn't know. This is pure gold. thanks Sajid!!
No music, no turning around. To the point. Appreciate your informations bro ❤
aesthetics & responsiveness are not mutually exclusive.... ppl aren't building visually interesting websites that are desktop only lol.
Nice ❤🎉
I guess rtl and ltr with multi language support is also supposed to be considered in terms of design 🤔
Yeah, design is very important… Design isn’t magic; it has rules, but if you don’t understand it, it seems like magic to you… and I don’t know of any good design courses on TH-cam. P.S. Thank you!
good thing i found this video as a complete beginner, now i dont have to learn it the hardway(my friend suggested using figma before but i insist on learning how to code first). I started learning just 3 days ago and I'm pretty happy trying to solve problems I create haahhahaah
i think designers should focus on making the user experience as simple as possible
Man I needed this. Thanks for the reality check. Coding to solve problems opposed to just building things is a game changer. Thank you!🙏
This video summed up my 3 year learning curve of coding and web devolpment, I was stuck at tutorial hell for almost a year (with giving up and retrying), then I tried learning everything "by the book" how every syntax works, but just this last year is when I realized, I just have to make whatever is needed and then move slowly but surely, wish I had seen this video 3 years ago, but at least I gained a lot of experience and am either way happy now, thanks for this great Video!
This easily the best video I've seen on this topic. I love how you connected the design and the dev elements.
The video is not long enough. I’ve literally went through everything here. now i have a startup with 400 users, no funding yet though. what to do now? please make part 2 for the continuation of this
1:11 bro showed irctc as a functional website 💀
Best video for me. I was thinking of watching a tutorial on how to improve my design skills and out of nowhere yt recommended me this masterpiece. Thank you yt. Great video Sajid 😊
W Video👍
These videos are Gold, i wanted to ask if you animate some you videos using figma smart animate as they actually look super clean.
Yep, some using smart animate and some with after effects.
lmao pornhub being at #4
UI vs UX, yeah I’m picking up what you’re laying down.
Thanks for admitting that coding is hard. I find that really encouraging
Man thank you!
I always want to do in this way. Thank god I found this video to support my selected way of building Applications
I want a suggestion/advice. I have a figma design for a website which contain only mobile and desktop design. I have to make it responsive, so for ipad should I follow mobile design or desktop?
Short answer: Mobile. Correct answer: Your layout should be built by flexbox. So it responds to millions of screen sizes and resolutions out there. I have a video on flexbox that might help. Avoid using media queries and fixed pixel based layouts.
@@whosajid I will go through your flexbox video. One more suggestion flexbox vs Grid which one is efficient?
@@aqibiqbalansari2516 I personally never use grid. flexbox can do all the things grid can do, but grid can't do everything a flex container will do.
this is a lifesaver video
I like you pausing when talking
That was AMAZING 👏
bruh you just solved the biggest problem of mine. I build 10 websites by watching so many videos but nobody ever tried to teach this deeply. you solved my problem in 5 to 10 seconds. Greatttttt jobbbbbbbbbbb
I hate say it. Im learning with chat gpt for my portfolio. Step by step of course.
YES
"Creativity is a process not a moment... Being creative is about connecting ideas." Very inspiring, thank you~ -Recovering Perfectionist
You’d find out most people who agree in the comments are developers. Developers usually would take the path of least resistance
because their product inst focused in building a website for the customer
This is actually really useful. It would be nice to see a full walkthrough of a design process, to learn good habits. As well as having a PDF cheat sheet for the size & hierarchy thing, which is so damn hard for me.
7:30 the next 500% hit me hard
You sure have a lot of B roll footage for someone that that doesn't appreciate presentation :) Next time just talk over website screenshots... keep it effective.
Crunchyroll both looks bad and unfunctional
I enjoy the bugs and errors, i love Javascript and react😊
this also feels like its applicable to presentations
Can you get in touch with mobbin and aske them to enable background color changes, It's very hard to use the app with a background given most background on the app screenshots are white too
UI/UX design is more applied to mobile apps than websites, good content i loved it
Where can I go to get feedback on my website? I am looking for more critical feedback that could help because its a niche hobby and has low traffic/engagement
Bro forgot that design includes functionality (UX) and responsive DESIGN. Not mention accessibility
I agree that, those designs with 3d icons flying around the website are ab absurd though
Do not change scrolling on websites. It is wildly frustrating for users
I wonder if you try doing a build of login or website while explaining alot of ppl don't do that and this event will really help
Thats not a design tutorial anymore. Its a lesson of modern art.
Having a really complex GUI on your website can also make it less responsive, even if you, as a client have the best hardware. That's because the web server has to also work harder to send you the more complex GUI instead of the simple one. More complex GUI = slower response time = lag = fewer earning. Maybe we should think more of the ratio between code quantity / result in this specific case. And let's not forget that simpler GUIs are more likely to be compatible with older browser as well and the cycle goes on and on.
this is the most useful video ever on Web dev, every other tip is gold
