What is Attitude 100? It's a super simple idea I came up with a while ago to help remind us of our perception and attitudes toward life. I use it with my kids. Had tshirts made up for the whole family. I can’t make a comparison since I’ve never had a Mitred Conure. But I have had a female Cherry head Conure for almost 18 years now (since she was 4 months old) and she’s amazing. She’s got such a friendly, funny disposition and LOVES being around people. She loves to cuddle, to be held, and does talk and get very excited at times. Generally, I’d describe her as being very gentle and observant. She enjoys being on the shoulder and listening to a conversation, occasionally joining in with her own dialogues to contribute, lol. I know Conures can have such different personalities but mine is like my little child, I can’t imagine my life without her! 🥰❤️💚

I know how to deal with aggressive birds but a fearful bird is very different. My parrotlet is afraid of hands and cage bound. Instead of stepping up when I put my hand in he flutters. I can only get him out by grabbing him. If he sees the cage he tries to fly back in. I have to have him in another room so he's not trying to get back. There's also no info on this. All the sites and videos are about birds that bite and are aggressive.

@@ScaryFear We had the same issue with Rio! He took about 10 days until he would properly step up. You don't want to reach in and grab him in his cage because that's his "safe zone" and increases their stress levels. I read that it can take up to 4-5 weeks until they warm up to new owners. Some really good things I did to speed up the process: 1. Bought Millet spray and fed it to him whenever he would take it 2. Bought some of those rope perches to put outside the cage 3. During the day when i was home, I'd leave the cage to encourage his exploration. 4. Fed him lots of different veggies: broccoli, cabbage, celery, any he'd take 5. I made some really cool toys for him: th-cam.com/video/6Xe8v0pH17Q/w-d-xo.html 6. The biggest thing was not to force the relationship. You can to make the little guy feel comfortable. I would also play youtube videos of other parrotlets singing to relax him and get him to perk up in his element. Let me know if you have any questions. I promise if you're just diligent + patient...you'll earn a friend for life.
