Sadly I was at my kid's school patiently waiting in line with the other parents and students to get our book signed by a very well known visiting author when Nadia Shireen rocks up with her kid, takes one look at the queue (which was literally 10 people) and refusing to wait her turn, walks to the front of the queue (past the deputy head who was patiently waiting in line to get a book signed for another student) gets her book signed and leaves. Entitled much? Put me right off - won't be buying any of her books.

I'm currently listening to his book on the Libby App. I have it on my wishlist in the Chirp App. He had just discussed his favorite " social media platform ", I was hoping that he has a TH-cam channel.

I would love to get in you with Micheal for advice on winning a case in the Court of Protection regard POA yet having to pay court costs , the judge appointed a legal firm that did nt work in the clients interest , I feel helpless as it was a close court and not witness by the public 🙏

I was at this talk. I have a great respect for Michael mansfield, because of his helping the common people to stand up for themselves in the face of adversity. He has given his services and great experience free -of - charge, in many cases. However, there are positive causes in group and some that do not send out positve messages and are un-realistic and damaging our great monuments to get themselves noticed- example STOP OIL. Why, if you think something should end - would you damage and get known only for this damage-it is turning the people against them. When interviewed, their spokeperson's cannot have a sensible conversation about how to stop the heavy reliance on oil and state what alternatives there might be and how to go about that approach- no ideas form stop oil, just destruction. Therefore, I cannot agree with some of his Michael's views because there are people of certain groups- Hanas and terrorist groups, worldwide, who use thier might and not thier brains. Surely, if people come together, it has to be in a effort to get change through talk and peaceful protest, but done where the language is paramoun, knowledgablet and, of an intelligent nature. Not all peoples causes and groups are good.

Alan Johnson is a man of honesty and dignity, clawed his way out of poverty to the very top of the establishment. A humble and thoroughly decent man , his writings are inspirational….. his life is one of triumph over adversity "he’s a very special “ human being !

Just reading the book and it's an easy-on-the-brain thing to enjoy after watching too many youtube videos. I've always been fascinated by ironmongers and spent some time helping my grandad when he looked after a busy one in Manchester.

So good that he keeps giving back...thank you, Jay!

I just watched this and absolutely loved that KBJ did a prison pottery class! I designed a pottery program here in South Carolina where I teach the men in a level 2 correctional institution…been doing it for 10 years now and the men absolutely love it. They say it’s the best program on the yard. I could write a book on the impact this program has on changing the men. Cheers to clay ! I named the program “Jeremiah 18 pottery program” ….in the Bible, Jeremiah chapter 18 vs. 1-6 describes exactly the correlation of change. Oh, and I bought your book for the prison pottery program, too!

I hope you come to Michigan someday. My Great Grandparents came from Scotland to Cape Breton, Canada, then my Grandmother came to the US. Thank you for your wonderful clips, recipes, and books. :o)

I was part of the generation that learned to sew at school, I loved it from the start, I went to the London College of Fashion, worked in the theatre and then in Textile Art for many years, in middle age I retrained as a painter. You can't hold a creative person down!

Remember Tom's highway to the sun on BBC4 as a surprisingly good piece of work on what I thought was just another road, turned out it was an entity in it's own right. He's made me look at things like that in a different way

I read this book and wondered how much had been made up, so much didn't really ring true. I can't imagine such hostility directed towards her, from local people. And the wonderful photos , did she take those? There was so much of the victim in this, but yes she can certainly write and what a talker, exhausting !!!

Just started reading this book and I must say I haven't enjoyed a book this much in a very long time. Very long. It's exactly the kind of writing style I envision my first book to be like.

Esme you exude optimism. This needs to be on tv, i agree that school tick boxes but nothing is stopping anyone outside to be creative. My nanna taught me to sew and i am eternally grateful for that as its got me through some tricky times

Fantastic. LAJ is a brilliant author, & brings new understanding to whatever subject she looks at. I recommend The Stone Age (about the Rolling Stones) - a compelling & unique book. X
