Poulan 5200 30” bar stretching it’s legs cutting 100 year old Red Oak
This is my favorite saw. I didn’t have a screwdriver to improve the tune. Also shown is a Husqvarna 254 and American wood splitter.

That’s some wicked hardwood. I have mostly the smooth bark hornbeam in my woods.
@@jwoods345 cool. The smooth bark hornbeam is super hard too. Thanks for watching
Yessir great vid
I like that splitter. I have a similar American splitter sitting on the woodlot...... waiting for me to fix her up😂
@@dereksstuff8395 they are great splitters. This one is almost 30 years old. Hope you get yours going. Thanks for watching
@@redtiller1975 If I work on that, I'll be sure to make a TH-cam video! Have a great day
Wood looks punky, cut too long, split too big. Other than that, the splitter looks nice.
@@mikespain8655 the outside of the wood is punky but not too long or too big for the furnace. Thanks for watching
Awesome saw! Love the old poulans . Got my hands on a clean 4400 . They are great . Not enough old Poulan content on TH-cam keep it up!
@@samtoland5967 Awesome find. The 4400 is a “newer” version of the 4200. Great saws. I need to post more. Thanks for watching
If I could only have 2 saws, the 254 and 372. Good port work , nice saw.
@@pallmall5495 thanks. I’ve never run a 372 but I would love to have one

Alguien sabe que madera es esa?? Tengo uno tumbado(pero el mío es rojito creo) y quiero utilizar para paradero o pilar de casa de madera en zona tropical... aquí no utilizamos pinos sino madera muy dura para casas

ok How do you use the two pull outs?
@@KieranMullen when starting the fire both levers are pushed all the way in. Once a good fire is going I pull the one on right out almost all the way. I then use the center one to control the fire. The center one is usually most of the way out as well especially for overnight
Very calming and relaxing video.

May I ask ... What are you using for fuel?

Oh my god I i made the TH-cam video with the hovermower!!! Hell yeah! It's always a pleasure being your neighbor man!
@@98d13racing I enjoy talking to you every year
That is an exact of your rototiller for sale!
While the Poulan 4200 clearly won it would be negligent to not point out the obvious inconsistencies of what’s happening with the two saws and operators. #1 The Stihl ms 400c doesn’t have a sharp chainsaw blade. #2 The man running the Stihl lacks proper posture as he is over extending his arms and body due to the particular placement of the log between him and the log he is cutting on. Also due to his over extension he lacks secure footing and isn’t able to work the dogs appropriately or efficiently. Another point of consideration would be the weight of these two saws. The Stihl weighs substantially less, translation less body fatigue. The Poulan 4200 doesn’t seem to be in production any longer. Nevertheless, you may find a used working saw for a reasonable price or within your budget parameters. Whatever saw you use always be mindful of best practices for operational safety and use personal protective equipment.

I have 3 of those and a 590 love echo!
Have 2 1946 models. One that dad bought in the 60's that I use yearly, the other one dad and grandad bought new. That one is on deck for a restoration. Love these machines, if ya know how to operate them, awesome machine, if not, you will have your hands full and get a real workout!
@@ganoncollins1 I love running mine. I use it every year to till gardens. Thanks for watching and sharing. Definitely great machines.
I used a lot of different chainsaws. And stihl 400c with magnesium piston was faster then others i ever had. Sorry guys but i dont believe in this comparison.
@@pmHondaSzybszaNizWyglada sorry you didn’t believe it. If you have never run a ported and piped Echo 590 maybe you should. Thanks for watching anyway. I will say the 400 is a great saw.

Ive got a bad crank in my 262xp mahle. I cant find oem or after market (other than farmertech) for a new crank. Is a 257xp crank the same as a 262xp. I saw a decent aftermarket one for sale here in NZ?
@@llewmatthews4828 to my knowledge the crank is the same between the 257 and 262. I didn’t have to do anything to swap to a 262 cylinder. Hope you get it running. Thanks for watching. The 254 has a different crank even though the case is the same
@redtiller1975 thanks. I just found a second hand one online. Hard to fix these old saws up... I love my 262 it's a beast. I got a 365 special and 372xp too. All good saws
