The Tampa Bay Area is home to one of the largest 4 lane 1/32 wooden slot car tracks, Thunder Bay Raceway. If you're in the area, we always welcome new racers.
The track is roughly 130ft in length, has 5 areas where two or more lanes are squeezed together, was built with a magnetic primer under the surface paint and generally runs on 9 - 10 volts. This is a braided analog track with the most recent track remodel finishing in spring of 2017. Scenery has yet to be completed as of July 2017. The original track (shown in a few videos) was completed in spring of 2012.
Thanks for watching!

I love this layout. I may wind up emulating this with my carrera digital set. Those double decker hairpins look awesome!
Super Job !
loads of fun .. what a great track!!
What power taps do you recommend for copper tape?
too much magnet!
long live wood! (tracks)
wooden wedges and screws
Pretty dang incredible track. Wish I could be racing on it right now!
Great track. I thought that speed would be hampered by the tightness of some of the track sections, but no...I'm impressed. Out of interest, if you don't mind saying, what type of car was running the laps at the end?
stop this crap. just make an ho blue king. brain up a little.
Love your track you and your dad did a fabulous job
Nice work
Amazing layout!
Fantastic! I love a track that requires control instead of all out speed. Your track looks great! Good job!🚘🚗🛺

Can I make a safe comment, great job ,but I feel turns, should flow, some of the curves are a bit abrupt, but you did do a good job, not,and easy, task,,

Magnificent setup bro , my I ask why no lane changes ....
What's a 1960s am I brass bottom model 100 - 458 what are they worth when they're original. Volkswagen body red metal flag
Cool 😎 Track
Exceptional!
To avoid being just another generic "good job, bro." type of responder, I found your three-level track height to be VERY cool, along with the extra room in those overpasses for reaching de-slotted cars. what's the length? Footprint? It looks like you run 1/32nd cars? Do you hold races on it? Wha`cha got for a lap-counting system? (Looks like a lapmaster?) I actually have a 6-lane 116ft 32x16 Chris Dadd's reverse-grandstand set-up in my Auto-repair shop, (yeah, I'm not kidding) it's located in Osage Beach, at the Lake of the Ozarks. I HAD a small club of racers, but alas, I fell off of a ladder, breaking my leg severely, & had to close for almost a year. Lost a LOT of business, & my club attendance just dried up. STILL have the track, & I'm hoping to get the club re-formed & going again this fall. (NO A/C in the shop, so summer racing is just un-do-able) ANY tips on arousing Missouri interest would be greatly welcomed, As I'm beginning to think this area is just a bunch of lackluster, lazy, crybaby weenies...
Thanks. It's 127' in the shortest lane and 131 in the longest. Footprint is about 9x18. We do have races on it. Using trackmate software with dead strips for counting.
2 cars at the same time testing show better that track........
thats beautiful
I lived and died the big slot car tracks in the late 60s .. built my own cars .. rewound the motors. Good to see the contemporary interest ... tho the cars don't seem to slide much.
In slow motion they are fishtailing all over the place.
cool layout might have to think about a slot track myself
Really nice Thanks for sharing. Brings back childhood memories.
This was very prevalent I the late 60s and early 70 -80s, even the military bases had these for service members, Davisville Rhode Island had one 10 cars large, along with competitions and rentals. Davisville Rhode Island was a Seabee Base. FYI I was 13 -14 that was 67-68 Excellent Job
Nice track, I ll follow that link thanks. Your slots come real close together for corner bump, did you plan that?
Yes, there are several places where all the lanes squeeze together. Gotta keep that in mind when trying to pass.
Were can i buy products tracks
Want to set a commercial track
@@thunderbayslots6937 Body shop will make a $$$ from this track😁
Beautiful track, and it must be challenging too.
It really is a drivers track.
Well done, best Woody I've seen yet. Dig the Contours and elevations.
Cool 😎
Hope you don't mind. Thought I would send you a link to my small humble slot car track. Hope it doesn't bore you too much! th-cam.com/users/results?search_query=rcplanetim+slotcars Thanks I hope to see more of this as I have subscribed!
Excellent track. I could never make one of those. I dont see how you did all that. Well done. really cool! I do have a small 1/43 scale track, but i used Artin and Childford track on two 4 by 8 pieces of plywood. it is on youtube, you can see it if you search rcplanetim slotcar. I do wish I could build like that though. AMAZING!!!
You can do it. Just one section at a time. :D
You are correct, YOU NEVER COULD MAKE ONE OF THOSE, but do you know why? Because you have already decided that you can't do. Whether you tell yourself that "you can do it", or that "you can't do it", you are correct. I'm sure you are more than capable of making a similar track, but you have to decide that you can do just that. If you think you can't do it, then you will never bother to even give it a try, and thus, you won't do it. If you think you can't do it, and somehow you do give it a try, you still won't succeed because you have already set your future in stone, and having such a negative attitude is predetermining your future. You can do it, so if you want to do it, then go do it!
