That looks enormous fun!
"If you have no troubles, you have no stories!" (Nice quote from one of this year's drivers)
That was very interesting! Thanks.
So disappointed in what happened. Looking forward to seeing the Thomas on its next outing.
Aaah great video, lovely family event too, it's a great shame about your accident. I love the way the engine speed drops when going into top, so torquey. I hope Andrea wasn't too upset about the mishap, so good to share the car with your daughter. I wish my daughters shared my interest. Until next year....
So disappointing for the Thomas and the team. Great video along the way accompanied by the familiar strong “chuff, chuff”. If that parked car had been 3 feet further on there would have been no squashed light. Good driving to avoid pedestrians and oncoming traffic. I hope the lamp is repairable. Rick from the “Luminary Shop” of uTube fame, although recently retired, does work magic with brass lamps.
So sorry to hear about you not being able to carry on to Brighton. Very many thanks for the video and do hope that you will come back again with more success. Thank you too for bringing the Thomas over and I wish you all the very best.
Fantastic looking car and certainly goes well.
Well done Russell. A nice sample of participants in LtB.
Great video Russell, @Alantravis111 Note the sliding pillar front suspension on the 1899 Decauville 12:30, a bit of inspiration for Sizaire et Naudin.
15:55 - and it does blat on! That looks plenty fast enough for me! At the time this motor was built, the speed limit in the UK was 14mph - raised to 20mph the year after. Wonderful to see it chuffing along! 🙂
@@jamesportrais3946 that car will go faster than 20mph easily.
That's right Deane, I had it up to 39 mph last year in the US!
@@veteran-garage This is really incredible, I had no idea they could go so fast!
Fantastic video. Great to see the Thomas running. I hope you all have a great run and enjoy the London to Brighton
Some would see it as a vapour style carburetor.. very primitive but it worked for the time period..
Exhaust gas would have been used for heating the fuel for faster evaporation doubt it presurised the fuel bowl as burnt fumes ain't combustable when returned to inlet..
Cop: Sir, do you know why I pulled you over? Rider: No helmet? Cop: No. Your license tabs expired 110 years ago.
Well produced video and hope you all have a successful run on Sunday to Brighton.
Great to see your beautiful car in the England and ready to participate in the London Brighton Run. I wish I were able to attend this year to see it in the flesh. Thank you for your other videos. I love Veteran and Vintage cars, its nice to see a hands on enthusiast working on his cars and driving them as I do. Well done indeed. I wish you and your family a very pleasant run and hope the weather is kind.
That was pretty interesting, I never knew there were other styles of carburetors other than "modern" compact ones.
Thanks for your comment. Early cars were a really interesting and innovative world
Well done Russell and you got to ride a surface carburetor machine. Hope all goes well for you and Chris on your LtB run in the Thomas.
Hi Dean, thanks for comment. Riding the De Dion trike was wild and a real learning experience! Looking forward to the LtB - will be posting more videos to capture the experience!
This is the only video on the internet I’ve been able to find of one of these.
That is very tightly made car for 1916. You see model T's and they look like a strong push would make em fall apart but this looks very solid. Those jumper seats would be pretty cool even today to think they come up with something so flush back then is crazy.
Was this originally owned by Chris Reimuller?
Hello Russell, Just found your videos. Enjoy them immensely! I noticed the rear step on your Thomas is very similar to the ones used on Genevieve, which I am working on a replica of at the moment here in Connecticut. Dave
That car is sweet I only seen original ads with Artis rendition of these cars .🍻 cheers.🇺🇸
Russell & Christine Thanks for all the efforts by you and everyone involved. Phyllis and I are looking forward to our return again to NSW and hopefully additional states when we come to enjoy your spring time down under. See you in August!
Nice job showing the install!
you can't kill an old chevy!!!!!!!
What a fantastic presentation.
This car could have been developed by my ancestors, not joking.
