Kudos for the writers for including this American masterpiece of songwriting... and using the writer to sing it. The movie is 'eclectic' even for me. the only thing I can't 'abide' is the whole beta male thing. John Goodman played an out of control alpha but I could identify.. not so much the 'dude'

Something about this song is so sad to me. I guess it's the theme of being disappointed in one's life's outcome - so much so that the person in question is ashamed to see someone from their past that they were once close with. Hits close to home for me lol and I'm sure many others
