Enjoy the Italian cooking trip of a lifetime! After attending culinary school in Italy, I've been dreaming about taking a group back to this magical location to eat, cook, and explore their way through Southern Italy. If you want to explore Italian culture and life through food, this is the Italy group tour for you!
Here's how this trip will work, we will travel to Italy in 2025 (September 12 - 21) and meet in Calabria, a Southern region in Italy. During this trip, we will be taking cooking classes, exploring local towns (Tropea), going on excursions (to a local winery and farmers market), and tasting 5-star, multi-course meals.
If you're looking for cooking classes in Italy, this is the perfect trip for you! We will be cooking and taste-testing a variety of authentic Italian dishes from various regions around the country. Some of the top dishes we'll be cooking include Neapolitan pizza, cornetti (Italy's version of a croissant), Italian bread (including personalized focaccia), handmade pasta, Italian wine, the Roman Trinity (cacio pepe, carbonara, amatriciana), risotto, gnocchi, tiramisu, and how to make Italian gelato.
If you've been trying to figure out how to travel to Italy (whether you want to travel to Italy alone or with your friends), this is the perfect cooking trip for you! This Italy group tour will be kept to a very small number of participants so you can have a personalized experience.
Drop any questions below in the comments and I'll be sure to answer. I hope we can travel together to Italy!
------------------
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE ITALY TRIP:
Q: Who can come to this retreat?
A: Anyone ages 18 and up is welcome! Since this is a group retreat, just make sure you're comfortable with socializing and hanging out with others.
Q: Can I come on this trip solo?
A: Yes, of course! This retreat will be for a small group, so you can meet friends once you arrive. I went to culinary school in Italy solo and came back with so many lifelong friends. So don't worry, you can do it too!
Q: I have dietary restrictions. Can I still come to this retreat?
A: Yes, we can accommodate most dietary restrictions including single food allergies, gluten, vegetarian, etc. The only restriction we cannot accommodate is airborne allergies of a common ingredient (gluten included). If you have allergen-related questions, send me an email at hello@homebodyeats.com.
Q: Is alcohol included in the trip pricing?
A: Wine will be included with every lunch and dinner. Additionally, we will be sipping on various cocktails throughout the trip. If you do not drink, we will have mocktails and other options available for you.
Q: Will the retreat be in English?
A: The retreat will be spoken in English. Don't worry, there's no need to know any Italian for this trip. However, you will leave knowing a few new Italian words and phrases :)
Q: Are all meals included in the trip pricing?
A: Yes, all three meals (plus some snacks along the way) will be included in your stay. You'll start every day off with a buffet breakfast at the hotel. Lunch and dinner will be a mix of meals at the hotel (cooked by the amazing chefs who will be teaching us) and local restaurants. Wine will be available at all lunches and dinners. I can promise that you'll never leave hungry! There will always be plenty of food to eat and taste!
Q: Why is this retreat different than other tours in Italy?
A: We're focused on showing you the culture and lifestyle of Italy through food. This trip is for people who really love food including tasting, cooking, and visiting new restaurants. You'll never leave hungry and you'll get to taste a variety of Italian dishes from various regions. Plus, you'll get to make many different dishes through hands-on cooking classes.

    Make sure your beans are ground fine. Fill up your pod to the top, and it needs to be properly tamped down, just like an espresso machine. I refill my pods every day, and I get better results than original pods.

    What does the molasses do? Is it just for sweetener? Is there any reason you put it in with the water and yeast and not later when you added the flour? Does it matter when I put it in?

    • @HomebodyEats
      @HomebodyEats 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It helps get a nice chewy, crunchy, and golden brown crust. Oftentimes New York bagels use barley malt syrup, but that can be hard to find in the grocery store. It's important to boil with molasses if you want that signature bagel crust. That being said, I also add it into the dough to help with browning in the oven (so the bagels experience the Maillard reaction). I hope this helps 😊

      I've had that happen a couple of times too. Usually it's because I didn't fully seal the capsule. I'd try removing the current foil and putting a new one on that's fully sealed. That usually does the trick for me!

    Hi. Thank you for this video. Was hoping you could answer this question for me. Once the garlic is in the olive oil and sitting for the 48hr process and then the garlic discarded. Is this now a way of bacteria getting into the olive oil. Also does the olive oil go bad sitting out once the process is complete. Thank you

    • @HomebodyEats
      @HomebodyEats 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The main thing is that you don't want to store the garlic with the olive oil after that 48 hour mark. The infused olive oil is fine to sit out (again make sure it's been strained) if stored in a dark colored bottle away from light and heat. Use it within 2 months of making it. ☺️
